Any book that sweeps me away to the seaside until I can hear the roar of the surf crashing against the rocks while enjoying plenty of delicious food, hot coffee, tea and pastries, is a good, relaxing read for me! I found A Ring and a Prayer refreshingly different in that it is told from the point of view of three characters—Annie, the restaurant owner of The Golden Bowl; her biological father called Doc; and Lisa, a dishwasher at The Golden Bowl and a single mother in need. This is a story about family and faith and miracles that can occur in everyday life. I enjoyed the references to scripture throughout the book and how they were applied to what was happening in the story. I absolutely loved the idea of the prayer bowl. Leave a prayer, a petition, a need for prayer or a word of encouragement, and take a prayer to pray for someone else. This book encouraged me to read further about the prayer of Jabez, and any book that inspires me to go deeper into the Word of God is a blessing.

Thank you for the opportunity to read A Ring and A Prayer. I have posted reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes & Noble and Facebook.
