When I first requested this book on Netgalley, I didn't actually know it was the second in a series. I haven't yet read the first one (it's still on my very, very long TBR pile) but was pleasantly surprised when I read this. To be honest, the first thing that drew me in straight away was the cover. I love the colours and the leaves all around it - so autumnal and beautiful! I even really love the name of this book.

As the weather has taken a turn for the worst, it was so, so lovely to just curl up on the sofa reading this. I was so snuggled up I ended up reading this quite quickly! One thing I loved about this book was the relationships with the characters of the village, they all seem to flow together so nicely and it had a lovely close-knit community feel to it! I also adored all the animals! Anything to do with animals/villages/food and I am there! I just can't get enough of books about them!

This was my first Zara Stoneley book (but I do have even more of hers on my TBR pile - told you it was huge!) and I must say I really did enjoy it. The storyline was engaging, I never got bored of the characters and it was written beautifully. As I mentioned above, even though I hadn't read the first in this series, I wasn't confused. I knew what was happening and that made it an lovely read.

I want to live in Langtry Meadows! It just seems like the most beautiful place! All the characters are relatable and I especially found myself relating and understanding main character Lucy. The only gripe I have is that I didn't read the first book sooner - I just felt I could have got to know the characters a lot better from that.

Overall, a lovely heartwarming read which I really enjoyed. Now to go back and read the first one! Thank you to Netgalley and to the publisher for a chance to read this novel, which I have reviewed honestly.

A wonderful bittersweet story, or elementary teacher Lucy and her charming veterinarian boyfriend Charlie. Small town England, with plenty of quaintness and likeable characters. Charlie's soon to be ex-wife Josie has left their daughter Maisie with him temporarily, but is spiteful and nasty towards him. Poor little Maisie, who is in Lucy's class, doesn't know which way to turn, and is confused and scared. Obviously there will be a HEA, but a bumpy path to get there. I really enjoyed the Christmas pageant, gotta love when you try to combine animals and kids in a small area. So funny! The book does drag a bit in the middle though, and I skimmed a bit through that, which cost a star in my rating. Other than that though, I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend this book and author.

Having previously read the first book, I was delighted and excited to be back in the village of Langtry Meadows and to be reacquainted with all the lovely characters in this book, the second book to the series.

The story was truly wonderful, very touching and heartfelt throughout, all so very well written.  There were a few surprises along the way that I wasn't expecting and a fair few laugh out loud moments. Oh and I absolutely adored Roo and Piper, completely fell in love with them both, who are they you ask, well you'll just have to read the book so as to find out.

I know I've said this before about Zara's storytelling in previous reviews of her books but I'm going to say it here again as it still holds true. Zara has a wonderful way with words, setting the scene and location perfectly, I really felt like I could just step straight into the story and become involved and inmurst myself with all of the wonderful characters.

I really didn't want the story to end or to say bye to the characters and I'm already looking forward to book 3 so as I can indulge myself in the village and with the characters again.

Brilliant book!

Really enjoyable and relaxing read to curl up with. I hadn't read the first book in the series, or anything else by Zara, but I certainly will be catching up on her earlier books, and looking out for future stories.

The book was well-written and captivating, with lovable characters (I fell in love with Charlie Davenport too!) and a great setting. The storyline/plot was quite basic, but deftly weaved by the author into a relaxing read which looked at the wider village and lives of residents in the small village.

Would definitely recommend as a warm winter read!

Perfect read for the summer and so charming to go back to the charming village and hear more full of romance and charm. Lucy couldn't be happier she's feeling more and more at home in the village and loves her small cottage and loves the gorgeous vet. Lucy is really thinking of putting down her roots in the village and let the blackberries grow in her garden but the vets ex arrives and how can she cope with this and does it change her mind. Full of romance and a beautiful read.

I loved Summer With the Country Village Vet which is book one in the Langtry Meadows series and was excited to read Blackberry Picking at Jasmine Cottage. As the season seems to have changed this week it was lovely to cosy up on the couch and settle in to this wonderful book. The cover is beautiful and really gave me the Autumnal vibes!!
It was great to be back in Langtry Meadows and catch up with Lucy and Charlie; the course of true love never does run smooth and I was rooting for them to find happiness and stability especially now they had Maisie back in their lives. Of course it wouldn't be Langtry Meadows without the colourful cast of the villagers (and their animals) and I loved watching the possible chaos of the village nativity unfold.
As always with Zara Stoneley's books I was swept into the story and this one really gave me all the feels. An absolute heart-warmer of a tale!
