Tate and Quinn fell for each other during the summers growing up. They started out as friends, who turned to lovers over time, only for them to be torn apart. Quinn has no idea what happened with Tate, it was like he fell off the face of the earth. But one thing was for sure, there was no other person who was meant to be hers then him. So she gave up trying, until she comes across a message from Tate about him needing some work done.
Tate has only ever loved one person, Quinn. He's had to keep his distance for her and others he cares about. Although now he doesn't have to keep his distance, the ties have been cut and he is free to return home and get the girl. He's a doctor she's a mechanic, they may be opposites, but they burn hotter then the sun. Will they finally get the happily ever after they have always wanted with each other?
I usually don't read country romances, but I am so glad I read Kiss My Boots. the conversation was funny, all the characters were on point, I loved the dynamic between Quinn and her brothers, it just hit all the points for me. It wasn't as vulgar as most of the stories I read, but it didn't take away from the story. Here are a couple quotes that stuck with me;

"It felt like my life was one giant muddin’ trail right after the rain. You know that moment when the divots are the deepest and the mud just reaches up, grabs hold of your tires, and won’t let go? You could spin those sons of bitches for hours and not get any traction. That’s where my life had been."

"I fall asleep dreaming of waterfalls and a home built with pure love that nothing in the whole world could ever tear down. I’d always thought home was a place, but he’s right : our home is right here, in each other’s arms."

Sometimes a girl just needs to talk about her man problems to a friend, “he may have tried to stop me, but he didn’t get past the porch. I reckon that’s because he realized he was wearin’ nothin’ but his tight-as-he** briefs, a devil-smile, and an erection.” Tate sure is sweet with his words, “I’m two seconds away from comin’ in my pants, Quinn. Let me up before the front of my jeans are just as wet as my ***.” I adored this book, Tate was dreamy and Quinn that girl was a hoot.

5 Star Review Kiss My Boots (Coming Home #2) by Harper Sloan

The second in the series and another winner in my humble opinion. This is the story of Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery. I fell for Quinn's character in the previous book, what a feisty, loyal, independent woman she is and I was intrigued to know what had made her into the woman she is today, now I know, Tate Montgomery.

Quinn has always had to fight for what she wanted. Abandoned by her mother, a father who was a tyrant and looked after by over protective brothers who adore her, she has not had an easy life. Throw in a broken heart and Quinn is determined that no man, least of all the man responsible for said broken heart, will touch her heart again, or is she?

Tate Montgomery used to spend his summers with his grandparents in Pine Oak, Texas; it's where he met and fell for Quinn Davis. Now needing sanctuary and finally free from the ties that kept him away, he has returned to the one place he always felt at home.

Quinn has always had a hard time trusting and when Tate broke her heart she closed herself off from love. When Tate realises what he has lost and that returning to Pine Oak is more for Quinn than he initially realized, he soon finds he has a hard road to travel to regain her trust and love.

It was obvious that there was a great deal of attraction and unresolved feelings between Quinn and Tate, in fact their encounters are filled with passion almost to the point of exploding.

Can Quinn forgive Tate for the hurt he caused her? Does she still have feelings for him? Can they make this second chance at love work or will the past get in their way?

Ms. Sloan is a writer I have followed for several years, Kiss My Boots is a well written and beautiful story about a second chance at love and in my humble opinion Harper Sloan nailed it.

Boy, oh boy, what a great second chance romance. Kiss My Boots is the latest installment of the Coming Home Series and it follows the story of Quinn and Tate. When Tate left Quinn nearly 9 years ago, he didn't only break her heart, but shattered her faith in love and men. So, she's just been living life her own way; focusing on work and never getting attached. Little did she know that Tate was about to blow back into town and shake things up again.....There's only one place where Tate ever felt like he truly belonged and that was in Texas with the woman who captured his heart. But, life had other plans and stole Tate away from Quinn. Over the years, his love for her never went away and if anything, it only grew stronger. Now, the time has come for Tate to return home, to start over and win back the woman he did wrong. And this time, he wouldn't be letting her go without a fight.....

Kiss My Boots is a delicious and swoon worthy read. From the moment I picked up this book, I was hooked on Quinn and Tate's story. Quinn is a total badass and a woman after my own heart. She is strong, fierce and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She is protective of her heart and doesn't let anyone get too close to her. And Tate...Tate is one delicious man. He is all that and a bag of chips. He is sexy, swoon-worthy and isn't afraid to go after what he wants. He is 100% devoted to Quinn and is ready to show her just the kind of man that he can be.

Kiss My Boots is a story of a young love that marks your soul. The kind of story that just can't help, but root for the characters to not only find their happily ever after, but to fight to hold on to it. It is also a story of forgiveness and fresh starts. With real characters that are easy to connect with and a swoon worthy story-line, Kiss My Boots is one book that is not to be missed.
