I'm pretty sure I fell in love with this book from the very beginning. I don't know that I can find the words except to say, this is probably my favorite Harper Sloan book to date. I'm going to be adding it to my Top Reads of 2017 for sure.

I grew up in small town Texas. I know what it's like to love and leave a town and be responsible to those other than myself. I also know that love is everything -- EVERYTHING. Kiss My Boots is that. It's love, loss, small town and acceptance of life all rolled into one. Once we take a step back and accept the things we can't control and the things that are provided to us, even when we don't understand it, we find love. It's all around us. And this book is the epitome of it.

Holy hell, this series just keeps getting better and better with every book! I am sure most of you know my love for all things Harper Sloan (her incredibly awesome characters get me every single time!). So, as you can imagine, I am definitely not surprised that I loved her newest release.

Kiss My Boots is the second installment in the Coming Home series and if you have read the first book you know they are about three siblings who had a difficult past and now it's time for them to find their happily ever after. This is Quinn's time and this second chance romance love story is everything I expected and more! Quinn and Tate were in love when they were very young but Tate had to leave and now he is back to get what he loves most: his girl.

He taught me trust.
He showed me love.
Then he gave me pain.

OH MY GOD. The chemistry between these two! I am a sucker for second chance romances and this was not an exception! I always fall in love with Harper's outstanding chracters and let me tell you, Tate and Quinn will steal your heart. They are so funny, hot as hell and they will make you feel all the feels! Their love story is absolutely beautiful and I loved connecting this much with these characters!

“It’s not a lifetime, Quinn. Nothin’ will ever keep me from you. If you love me even a sliver as much as I love you, then a few years apart will just make us stronger. There’s never been anyone else for me, and darlin’, there never will be.”

What I always love about family books is the strong relationship between the characters. The Davis' siblings have the most heart warming connection you can ever imagine. Quinn adores her brothers and they will do absolutely everything to make her feel saved and loved. But, of course, now she also has a hunk of a man to do that. Tate is a fantastic hero, willing to do anything to get Quinn back and boy.. in what ways he gets her back! The chemistry is incredibly hawt and they gave us many panty-melting and also emotional moments.

Words aren’t needed when I lay her down on the bed, worship her body, and show her with every part of my body just how loved she is—as we come together.

Therefore, my rating for Kiss My Boots is 5 STARS because who in the hell complains about a book that made you connect extremely well with the characters and made you feel all the feels with the beautiful relationship it portrays! I love western romances and Quinn and Tate brought me so much happiness with their love story. I can't wait to read Clay's story (it sounds SO good!). Highly recommend this one!

Harper can not only write about bad ass alpha men, she can also write about drop dead gorgeous cowboys! I absolutely adored this book. After finishing the first book in the series, LOST RIDER, I couldn't wait to read Quinn's story.

Quinn fell in love with Tate when she was growing up, but when he left and never contacted her again, she was shattered. Determined to move on, she kept everyone at a distance while trying to live a happy life. She was doing the best she could, but knew she would never be truly happy.

Tate left Quinn in order to protect her, but he never stopped loving her. She was always the one who he was meant to be with and he was determined to prove that to her. When he moves back to town, he will use every arsenal he can to finally claim every piece of her.

If you love second chance love stories, you will adore this one. I could not put it down. Harper does an amazing job of writing characters we can relate to and easily fall in love with. Tate and Quinn's story was truly amazing. There is so much to say and yet, I don't want to say much at all other than make sure to pick up your copy today! I promise you will not be disappointed. Well done Harper! Now, if you could go ahead and release Clay's book I will be one happy woman!

I enjoyed this book, which is the second in the Coming Home Series. Quinn's nickname is Hell Raiser, she runs her family's auto shop and has no problem being a self described Tom Boy... with a girly side. Tate is a Lady Doctor, who has been spending his whole life doing what was best for everyone but himself. 

I loved all of the characters, but most especially Quinn and her BFF with all of their crazy antics and hilarious conversations. I hope we will be getting more books in this sweet and hilarious, small town Texas series.

Harper has blown me away by once again writing a jaw droppingly hot lost love. Quinn is a fabulous tomboy. Tate is perfection. I loved their journey back to each other and can't wait to see what happens next!

When Harper Sloan releases a book, you one click right away. Then you block out the rest of your day to devour that bad boy. So, get on that quick.

This cowboy series is amazing! Quinn is one badass chick with a take no shit attitude. This is all because one man, he broke her heart and ran away.

Tate ran away with Quinn’s heart 9 years ago, now he is back and wants her back. He will fight for her and help her beat their demons together.

This book had me in tears, giggles, anger, and so many more emotions I cannot add them all here. At times, I wanted to toss my kindle down and just jump on it. Ms. Sloan has it going on with these cowboys!

I was really on the fence with this book. Kiss My Boots is a second chance romance and the second in Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series (which is about… second chance romances. The name kind of gives it away). I love a good second chance romance and this one starts out promising, but the breathtaking romance part peaked at about the 50% mark and I found myself flipping between being really interested and wanting the book to be over.

What I liked:

• I really liked Quinn. I love that Sloan made her a mechanic and did so in a believable way. Every moment spent at the auto shop was fun, from Quinn working on vehicles she’s named because she feels connected to them to her banter with her employees. I wanted so much to see Homer when he was finished, though I had a pretty clear picture in my head!
• I hate that I missed book one in this series because I loved its heroine, Leigh. More so, Leigh and Quinn’s friendship was the highlight of the book. I want to be best friends with them and I’m totally jealous of the fact that they grew up together and still have so much together and clearly love each other so much. (Leigh’s ongoing talk about Maverick’s beautiful penis had me laughing out loud!)
• Speaking of book one… Maverick and Clay, Quinn’s brothers are back. This family is loving and loyal and I completely loved how much they loved each other (that’s a lot of love!). Sometimes I find that family members of the main characters all kind of run together, one hardly discernable from the other. Not so with Mav and Clay. They stood out individually and even without reading Lost Rider, Mav and Leigh’s book, I easily grasped and empathized with what Maverick had been through.
• The flashbacks to the beginning of Quinn and Tate’s relationship were gripping and filled with that special feeling you only get from first love.

What I didn’t like:

• While I loved the flashbacks, the present day romance between Quinn and Tate fell flat for me. I totally bought them as childhood sweethearts but thought their adult relationship was forced. I felt like I was supposed to be all googly-eyed over them, but only because I was constantly told so. There wasn’t any true conflict for them once we learn why Tate disappeared from Quinn’s life and the easiness with which he’s absolved just took the air of the story.
• I found myself mostly uninterested in Tate. I get that he loved Quinn and he was very romantic as he worked to get her back, but I had no sense of who he really was, again because I was mostly told rather than shown who he was.
• I cringed every time Quinn said “Jesus Jones” or “dadgum”. Jesus Jones was just overused and no one should be saying dadgum. Ever. And, why would a town with only one bar have a need for 2 full-time OB/GYNs? This bugged me the entire book.
Despite all this, I’m interested in reading book one because I found Mav and Leigh so engaging. I think it says a lot about the author that I was on the fence with Kiss My Boots but she was able to spike my interest in Lost Rider with her characterization of the supporting cast.

Another perfect romance by Harper Sloan. I first came across this talented author through her Corp Security series and instantly fell in love with her characters. As with all of her books Quinn and Tate were perfect. They were well written, well developed and absolutely heads over heels in love with each other.

While most of Ms. Sloan's books have a suspense theme to it, this one was not that way. Sure there was a little bit of suspense, but not much to dry out the story. This was all around a sweet as heck love story.

The next book can't get here soon enough. I have a feeling Clay is going to break my heart.

I have a serious girl crush on Quinn Davis. She’s a mechanic, owns a cool horse, and has a tendency to say whatever is on her mind, often resulting in hilarious conversations. Though one thing she never really told anybody is how much Tate broke her heart.

Seeing her one true love back in town, is a shock to her system. All those past emotions come bubbling back up, and having Tate so close again is scaring the bejesus out of Quinn.

Leaving Quinn was the worst thing Tate ever did, and I truly get why he did it (families can suck!). I loved that he came back for her. The love he still had for Quinn just radiated of him, and winning her back is all he ever wanted.

Seeing these two lovers get a new chance at happily ever was charming to read. I felt the connection between Tate and Quinn off the pages. From the first flash back you’re just rooting for these two to get back together. Quinn’s sass, with Tate’s determination makes for some very fun, and interesting scenes. A cowboy romance to make your heart melt.

Ok so I'm going to be completely honest here because that's what your supposed to do on reviews, right? So here it goes..... After reading the first book Lost Rider in this series, I wasn't sure if I was going to continue with it. I had been so excited by this new series from Mrs. Harper and couldn't wait for it to come out and read the first book. But I quickly found myself not being able to finish the first book and became quickly disappointed in their juvenal behavior. So as I mentioned I wasn't sure if I would continue with this series or not. But I wanted to give this series and Mrs. Harper another chance to how should I put it, redeem themselves.......

And I have to say I'm happy that I gave this series another chance. Now this book is what I'm talking about. This book is what I had expected the first book to be like. But I liked this book so much more and was actually able to finish it.

Let's start with Quinn..... Quinn was a take Charge, No bars held, kick arse, independent, tough, strong, sassy women. But underneath all of that toughness there was a vulnerability to her. She's the baby of the family and sister to Clay and Maverick. But I honestly think she is the heart of the family and the one who holds everyone together. She's also not sure about her one time love of her life Tate returning back to her little hometown and how to deal with it.

Oh boy Tate..... Tate and Quinn are no strangers to each other. They had that young first time love with each other when Tate would visit his grandparents when they were kids. Nine year's beforehand Tate made the decision to basically disappear on Quinn, with no reason or contact. Now nine years later he's returning back to Quinn's hometown to try and win her back and finally give her an explanation as to why he disappeared. I liked Tate, I really did. He was one of those sweet, kind, and caring people.

As I said at the beginning of this review this book was so much better than the first one. I definitely enjoyed it more. It was a sweet and sassy second chance romance, with just the right amount of smexiness added into it.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5 and actually can't wait for Clay's book!!!!

Quinn and Tate's story made my heart happy! They fell in love hard as kids but circumstances conspired to keep them apart despite the plans they made for the future. Now 9 years later, neither Tate nor Quinn has ever been able to move on to have a real relationship with another person as their hearts have been in a holding pattern waiting to find their way back to each other again. Tate has finally freed himself from the obligations that were holding him back, and he is determined to return to Pine Oak to win back the one woman that has always been it for him. But will Quinn give him the time of day or did he do too much damage with the way he broke things off all those years ago?

Quinn's childhood was less than ideal with a mama who disappeared from her life when she was too young to really remember her and a father who was a hard and brutal man at times. Tate taught her what friendship then love meant over the course of their summers together, and she held those moments close to her heart during the months he was gone until he returned again. When Tate ended things unexpectedly, Quinn lost a part of herself that she never got back, and over the years she has remained closed off to dating and relationships most of the time. When Tate makes a sudden reappearance in her life, it absolutely rocks her world and she starts to panic. Her tendency to over-analyze everything comes out in force and she finds herself in a role reversal with best friend Leighton from where they were last year after Maverick came home and Leigh faced a similar meltdown.

“If I take a chance— given that there’s even one to take— and let him close to that part of me again, somethin’ I haven’t let any man near since the last time I gave that to Tate, it could end in disaster, Leigh.”
“Or . . . it could end in pure magic.”
“It could be my destruction,” I debate. 
“Or it could be your salvation.”

Eventually that fear gives way to anger and Quinn gets fired up leading to some pretty funny moments involving first herself and Leigh and then her and Tate when he sets foot back in town. When she finally learns the truth behind the way he left all those years ago, she wants to let go of the old hurt but she isn't sure how- until Tate lays it out for her in one of those swoony moments from Harper's characters that I love so much.

“How ’bout you let me handle all that worries you, darlin’, and give your mind some time to accept what it’s scared to see is real.” Just like that. Like it’s the simplest of things. “You’ll get there and I’ll be here every step of the way to prove you can believe, but until you do, I’ll just keep waitin’ for you to catch up to me.”

The years melt away when Quinn and Tate are back together, and I loved their journey to find their way back to each other. Tate is strong, determined, loyal, honest and downright sexy, and once Quinn decides to give him a chance again, the fun loving hellraiser is back in full force! Kiss My Boots was filled with love, laughter and heat and I highly recommend 1-clicking this story to enjoy the ride for yourself!

I’ve got everything. And it’s freaking beautiful.

I am in love with Tate and Quinn! She is the girl everyone wants to have as a bff!! Tate is what dreams are made of as far as dream guys go. The storyline here is witty, original, and gripping! Things might have been difficult in the beginning but their love is something from a fairytale, the western kind! When we met Quinn in Lost Rider, I couldn't wait for this story and it didn't disappoint! It was also great to get to hear from Mav and Leigh! And of course Clay! Bring on his book now please!!

You never forget your first love. Teenage love is so carefree and easy. It’s like walking around with rose coloured glasses on and if feels like the rest of the world should be singing along to the same tune.

This was true for Quinn and Tate when they first fell in love. Every summer Tate spent six weeks working at his grandparents farm and all his down time was dedicated to Quinn. As far as they were concerned they were going to be together forever. They had their future mapped out until they didn’t.

One moment they were making plans for a future together and then all of a sudden Tate cut Quinn from his life and never returned to Pine Oak. Quinn was left absolutely devastated and has had to live with never having closure or answers she needed from Tate. After going through all the stages of relationship break up grief, she had a bit of a ‘wild child’ period in her life and then swore off love and men for good.

‘Quinn, the hell-raisin’ badass is back, and Tate Montgomery can kiss my boots.’

Quinn now runs the local garage and loves restoring old cars to their former glory. She is an A-grade mechanic and loves to spend hours tinkering on engines. She has three older brothers who are fiercely protective of her and her best friend Leighton is married to one of them. Needless to say, she has a very tight family circle around her. This is a good thing because Tate Montgomery is on his way back to town.

Tate hasn’t been back in Pine Oak for nine years. His grandparents have now passed away and he is returning to take ownership of their home. Tate is also taking over his Paw’s old position as the new town doctor, specialising in gynaecology. It was always his dream to work in medicine, just like his Paw and everything just seems to be falling into place for him now. Well apart from one thing, he wants to get back the woman he has always loved – Quinn.

When Quinn gets word of Tate’s return she is determined to just get on with things, so what if he is back, she is well over any feelings she may have had nine years ago. Famous last thoughts though….. the minute these two are in each other’s company all bets go out the window, all those feelings they had years ago come hurtling back into their minds and hearts but more magnified than ever.

‘You scare me more than a rattlesnake about to strike,’ I whisper. ‘Right down to my marrow, Tate Montgomery.’

Tate needs to come clean about what happened and why he broke Quinn’s heart, however first he has to get through the wall of Davis brothers and take a few hits. Why would they ever trust Tate with Quinn’s heart when he has proven to be unworthy of it? Tate is prepared to fight for what he loves, what he has always believed they both deserved their happy ever after together.

This was a low angst, sweet country love story.

I’ve loved Harper Sloan’s writing since I picked up her first release, Axel, and her Corps Security series is one of my favorites. I’ve read almost everything she’s written, and I love her special brand of alpha males. This series is a departure from her usual, so I was excited to see what she’d do with cowboys. I’m happy to say that she did it well, and while I haven’t yet read Lost Rider, the first book in the Coming Home series, I’ll be rectifying that soon. This book is a standalone, and although I may have gotten a bit more backstory development, I wasn’t at all hindered nor did I feel as though I was missing something by not having read the first book.

Set in Pine Oak, Texas, Kiss My Boots was a sweet and sexy second-chance, small-town romance between Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery, childhood friends and then first loves separated by circumstances not of their making or choosing. Reunited nine years later, Tate is determined to win her back, but Quinn has demons from her upbringing that don’t make it easy for her to trust, and his sudden departure is a big hurdle for her to clear.

The chemistry between Quinn, the town’s mechanic, and Tate, an OB-GYN returning to fulfill his small-town doctor dream, burns just as brightly as it did nine years earlier when they were teens in throes of young love. Tate patiently took the time to explain why he left the way he did to Quinn, and his reasons were valid, believable and, dare I say, even noble. Forgiveness and then reconciliation were quick, but I didn’t mind that. After everything they’d been through, I actually wanted that part to be easy. So, while there wasn’t a lot of relationship angst in this book, there was some while Quinn dealt with her upbringing and the demons she was battling from it, as well as some from the last remnants of Tate’s life during the nine years they were separated. As with all great southern, small-town romances, you’ll also find a good dose of down-home drama here. There was also plenty of in-your-business humor to be had, and the side characters in this book served to make a really good story even better.

While Kiss My Boots is a very different book than what long-time readers of Harper Sloan have seen from her in the past, it’s okay, change is good, and she’s crafted a very sweet, sexy, easy-to-read story here. Sloan has created a comfortable, relatable world in Pine Oaks through her vivid descriptions and interesting supporting characters, and I’m looking forward to a return trip there. So, where to start…I liked Quinn’s character in Lost Rider, the first book in the Coming Home series featuring Leighton (Quinn’s best friend) and Maverick (Quinn’s brother). While I didn’t love Lost Rider, I liked it enough, and liked Quinn enough, that I knew I wanted to give Kiss My Boots a try. I can see where this story might appeal to many romance readers. It’s a straight-forward story line, with an Alpha male, and a strong female lead. But for me, it just didn’t add up to a compelling story.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. There were a lot of waxing and waning going on by both main characters about their love, their past, their issues, etc… it got repetitive and tiring to be honest. It also didn’t feel like much happened in the book. There wasn’t really any big conflict that Tate and Quinn had to work through. While I don’t like unnecessary drama, I do like to see my Hero and Heroine work for their HEA. And while Tate & Quinn had been separated for 9 years, when they were finally reunited, it all fell together a bit too quickly and easily for me.

All that being said, if you don’t like drama, and you’re looking for a southern second-chance romance, with hot scenes, then you may want to give this one a try.

Jesus, Jones!! Kiss My Boots was amazing!!

The good thing about finding new authors is wanting to read more books from them, and that’s exactly what happened with Harper Sloan. I loved the first book of the series, Lost Rider, I loved even more Kiss My Boots, and now I’m waiting eagerly for the third book of the series Cowboy Up, I’m sure I’ll love Clay as much as I loved the other Davis siblings.

It’s time for Quinn to have her well deserved HEA. She and Tate were very young when they promised eternal love, until it wasn’t eternal anymore. Tate disappeared from the face of the earth, leaving Quinn heartbroken for so many years. What she didn’t know was that Tate was as crushed as she was. Nine years later, they have their second chance and IT WAS AMAZING!!

I loved every word in this book. I loved how feisty Quinn was, I loved how sweet and sexy and damn perfect Tate was, and I loved even more how complete they were together. And of course, the Davis siblings were amazing in this book too. Clay and Maverick were unconditional to Quinn and Leighton was the best friend Quinn could ever have. I enjoyed their conversations, they were funny AF. Lenore and Loretta were trouble and it was the best!

All in all, Kiss My Boots was funny, romantic, sexy and amazing. 100% recommended.

It’s been a while since I read a book by Ms. Sloan and I’m glad I chose this one. KISS MY BOOTS is a sweet and scorching hot story of first love and second chances that will leave you drowning in emotions. Readers will relive the heady feeling of first or new love and the wariness of the burned that comes with another foray into finding love, whether with the same person, or with some new.

Quinn Davis and Tate Montgomery knew they were made for each other from the very first time they met and could not wait to explore their future together. But life was not kind to them and the future they longed for was not to be. For nine long years, both Quinn and Tate have been going through the motions, unable to move past their feelings for each other and commit to anyone else, and Tate's return to Pine Oak for good is about to whip up a storm between them.

Tate has walked away from his life for good, determined to fight for his happiness with Quinn, but she'll have to decide if letting him back into her life and heart is worth the cost or if going through the motions for the rest of her life is the better option.

Quinn and Tate were really great and enjoyable characters. Quinn is feisty and bold, quite a handful and the unconditional love and support from her brothers went a long way towards making her who she was, in spite of the insecurities that had plagued her growing up.

People, find yourself a man or woman who is committed, devoted and willing to give up everything to make you happy, who is emotionally mature and open as Tate, who is willing to put in the hard work in a relationship and your happiness will be guaranteed for life! Enough said.

I loved that there was little angst in this story. Both Quinn and Tate knew what they wanted and will minimal drama, went straight for it. I liked how supportive Tate was even as Quinn struggled with her own issues that were unrelated to their relationship.

KISS MY BOOTS is a sweet second chance story of forgiveness, healing and hope with a lot of humor. My only minor quibble with the book was that some parts of it were repetitive and it was a little too long because of that, but what was enjoyable was really enjoyable and I'm looking forward to Clay's story.
