Always interesting and fun this time Vinnie is a bit out of her element as are the rest of her family in this mystery that's a little more tense than usual

This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. The story flowed very well and was very enjoyable. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This was the first book I'd read in the series and I had no problem picking up the group dynamics. It stands alone well. I had some issues with the main character which didn't bother me much in one book. A whole series of books with her acting stupidly would be another thing.
Perhaps in earlier books there was an explanation for Vinnie's behavior. However, for someone who works training law enforcement there is no excuse for her behavior which included lying to the police many, many times. It served no purpose that I could see. Telling the truth would not have done her and any loved one harm. Again, it just made no sense to me. It didn't add any quirky charm or amusement factor either.
The love triangle bit was off too especially how it ends with one of them.
Lola gets some earth shattering news and she makes a decision that's a little hard to accept then there's no follow up after a second shock wave.
I also felt there wasn't adequate explanation about what was really going on and the story ended abruptly.
It was a pleasant enough read, just poorly developed and played out. I'd give it 2.5/5 stars.
I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I'm sorry I just wasn't a fan of this book. I always say I'll go back again and if I change my mind I'll change the review, but this wasn't for me.

Been waiting on the next one in this series, so happy Vinny is back and better than ever. A twisty fun read that's very enjoyable.

To fully enjoy J.M. Griffin's 'Deader Than Dead' I re-read the entire series that for me easily rivals Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. The characters are wonderfully drawn and engaging, the mysteries are fabulous and there is a perfect blend of suspense, romance and laugh out loud humor. The next book in the series can't come soon enough. I'd give the Vinnie Esposito series 10 stars if I could!

I am always worried when I review a book that isnt first in the series, especially if I haven't read any of the other books from the series. Sometimes you can't get a good standalone from a series. Even though, I really loved this book and can't wait to read the rest of the series starting from the beginning
