I tried I promise I really tried but Irresistible You made it very easy for me to resist liking it at all. I am a HUGE hockey fan, hockey is life, I live in Detroit aka Hockeytown so I am not a reader who has no knowledge of what hockey is. I am tough on my hockey romances and I hold them to a very very high standard, one that Irresistible You unfortunately did not meet.

I could not stand Harper from the start, her demeanor, attitude and overall character just rubbed me wrong from the first chapter and sadly it never improved. Remy he is the only reason why I continued to read this, if it hadn’t been for Remy I would have never even finished this one. I know that sounds harsh and if you know me I try to never be harsh in my reviews but this one I sadly can’t help.

I wanted to love it, I wanted to find a new hockey romance to love, but sadly what I got was nothing close. Maybe this is an it’s me situation, maybe it is my mood but I just didn’t like this one and I wished I had.

3.5 Stars

I enjoyed Remy and Harper, overall. Their connection was steamy and you believed in the connection, and I loved the idea that as a player and owner, the relationship was just a little taboo. As with any relationship in which the connection, and the relationship itself, is against the rules, the connection is important, you have to believe that the characters would risk being discovered, that it would be worth it for them. I definitely believed this about them, and that made it fun.

But, I thought there was maybe a little too much of the focus on the taboo. The idea that Remy is a veteran player, upset at even being on the team, and that Harper is a female owner, it started to overpower the relationship just a little for me, and that was a shame as I thought the connection between them suffered a little as a result. There's a lot of build up of the connection, and then the focus seems to switch to the reason they are taboo and away from the connection, which made it a little tough to stay fully engaged with the characters.

The shift from the complete engagement with the main characters also allowed you to really start to get an idea about the secondary characters. This is the first book in the series, so there was some of the build up of the other characters, and this definitely makes you look forward to the next books in the series, as you really like all of the characters and want to see this team succeed.

I do recommend this title and I am looking forward to the other books in the series.

All right, folks. There's a plethora of hockey romances out there so what makes this one different? Answer: a little Cajun spice.

Remy or "Jinx" has his peers call him is on the brink of retirement but first he needs to do one more thing before that happens: win the Stanley Cup. And he thinks it'll happen with his current team. But a certain, newly-minted owner of the Chicago Rebels has other ideas. She trades for him to join the Rebels hoping that his work ethic and experience will fire up her team and take them from Loserville to hoisting that much sought-after piece of hardware. It looks great on paper but in real life it's going to require a great amount of effort on Harper's part to convince Remy that this is a good move. She even strikes a bargain with him without informing her half-sisters, who are the other co-owners of the Rebels, about this. While Remy may be resistant to the trade it doesn't mean he is impervious to the hotness that is his new boss, Harper Chase. The woman has a confident, don't-mess-with-me-or-I'll-knee-you-in-the-balls vibe and that only makes Remy hungry to get closer to her. As the new owner of the Rebels, Harper has much to prove in a little amount of time. Not only does she need to get her organization running smoothly again but she and her sisters have to fulfill the terms of her late father's will in order to keep control of it. Everyone from the media to the public to other organizations is looking to see them fail, Harper especially. So she won't let a little inconvenient attraction to her team's latest acquisition sideline her momentum. The boss can't mess around with one of her employees. That would be unprofessional and hurt her credibility but ...

Firstly, there's a lot of heat throughout most of this book. Remy is an imposing figure, all masculine and charm. It helps that he drops those lovely French phrases and terms of endearment regularly. I was pleasantly surprised by his backstory and what his plans are for after his retirement. His line of thinking was not something I was expecting from a pro-athlete who has it all from luxuries to women thrown at his feet. I did get a kick out of how he started to bond with his teammates. Some of them don't have quite the finesse he has but he seemed to take to his role of being a leader seriously. Secondly, I felt for Harper. Like most females in the workplace, she's in a precarious position. Meader provides plenty of Harper's backstory and examines how any woman taking on a leadership role within a company faces skepticism from her counterparts about her worthiness or effectiveness at her job. A woman has to work 10 times harder to prove her detractors wrong. I personally had reservations about her and Remy hooking up but then there wouldn't be a story if they didn't. And because their relationship is forbidden it only makes their "magic time" hotter. Let me tell you, that stroll down a New Orleans street was quite something memorable!

I had a great time reading Irresistible You. It's naughty, fun and I mentioned naughty, yes? Allow Remy to add some spice to your reading list :)

4 Stars! Irresistible You is book #1 in Kate Meader's new Chicago Rebels series.

Meet the Heroine & Hero:

Harper Chase is one of the new owners of the hockey team, The Chicago Rebels, and is the current acting General Manager.

Remy DuPre is a top player in the NHL, but is currently down on his luck & is known as the unluckiest player in the league, hence his nickname "Jinx".

The Story:

When their father passes away, the Chase sisters inherit his failing hockey team. Their father was not a good man (that's putting it mildly) & he has basically set them up for failure, there are stipulations - if they can't turn the team around & get them to the play-offs, they loose it all. Harper is not happy about the situation, as she is the only sister who has ever been involved with the team & did not expect to have to share it with sisters she doesn't even know or jump through hoops to keep hold of it.

Harper decides that her best chance of getting her team to the play-offs is to acquire NHL player, Remy DuPre. She believes that he can help turn her team around & get them where they need to be so she works out a trade deal with his current team. This does not make Remy happy in any way, shape or form. He has accepted this will be his last season in the NHL & he wanted to go out on top, holding the Stanley Cup up over his head & this trade has pretty much ensured that that won't be happening. He's getting older (in hockey years), has been taking a lot of hits & is ready to start the next phase of his life, which is working on a family of his own.

Harper & Remy bump heads from the get go & are constantly bickering & sniping each other, but there is always that simmering sexual chemistry that neither can really deny. He doesn't want to be there & she has to wrangle him into actually participating with the team. Remy totally flakes the first game he has with the team, acting like he's just out for a leisurely, fun skate & not putting in any real effort. At this point Harper works out a deal with Remy, I don't want to spoil anything, but this deal gives Remy an end date with the team & what he feels is a chance to go all the way for The Cup.

From here, the dynamic between the two starts to change. They are on much friendlier terms with each other & the sexual tension builds to incredible heights. Both are struggling not to act on it since Harper is not Remy's type & Remy is off limits to Harper since she is his boss. Harper has had a difficult romantic past & is afraid to really put herself out there again, especially with a professional hockey player. Remy however is determined to make her his & to crack her hard shell. Sparks, fun banter & hot sexy times ensue!

The Verdict:

LOVE this book! I'm hooked to this series & cannot wait to read about the other 2 sisters & also watch how the relationship grows between all of them. This is my first book by author Kate Meader & I will definitely be reading more of her. The witty banter & sparks flying between these 2 characters was so much fun & I was glued to my iPad from beginning to end. The love scenes were hot as all get out as well. I loved how once Remy became determined to make Harper his, he did everything he could to understand her & get under her defenses, he was so sweet & so SEXY! Harper was an amazing lead female character, amazingly strong. Kate Meader's characters were multi dimensional & I really enjoyed this read. I would definitely recommend this book & this author to everyone!

The Chicago Rebels series continues with the story about Remy and Harper. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and for full understanding of the series, I recommend reading this hot series in order.

Harper has had many emotional blows in a row. Trying to be a good team owner, she makes the decisions based solely on what the team needs. Always sacrificing her own needs to keep the team solid.

Remy had thought he would finish his career on a winning team. Never thinking he would be traded at the eleventh hour. Also not sure what to do about his feelings for his new boss. They do not even get along most of the time.

Such a great addition to the series! A very slow burn, and you know how I love those. So many surprises in this story to enhance the read. Hockey is always scrumptious to read about, and with a very hot couple who cannot stop touching each other - HOT!

The book opens with the h, Harper Chase, confronting the H, Remy DuPre at his home in Boston-at Midnight. In the middle of
Harper is one of three heirs to the Chicago Rebels Hockey franchise. Harper had worked for her dad without much credit for her hard work and ability. The Rebels team had just acquired Remy in a trade in to bring the Rebels from 2nd to last place to the playoffs.
Harper has a rough task willed to her by her recently departed father. Fortunately, at the start of the book, Daddy dearest (NOT) had departed 2 weeks prior. Harper has 2 sisters by different mothers. Yeah, no, Dad wasn't monogamous.

From their first meeting throughout the book, sparks fly between Harper and Remy.
I really love how this author develops the characters. The dialogue is crisp and biting. Not sit-com or anything like that. Very witty. I'm a read word for word reader & I didn't want to miss any of the narrative, dialogue- nothing.
There are a lot of great supporting characters-including Harper's sisters, Isobel (a former professional hockey player) and Violet (young and free spirit). They were thrown together by their dad's will. He specified that each daughter had a stake in the Rebels. They had to get the team to the playoffs or the franchise would be sold. Of Remy's teammates, I especially liked Bren.
Remy is originally from New Orleans, which seemed kind of odd at first- since he plays ice hockey.

I loved Remy's Cajun expressions:
"Where y'at, mon cher?" (Remy's mom Marie says this to Remy, when asking How are you?)
"Minou" (Remy's nickname for Harper) ooh la la. Translation: Kitty (urban dictionary says: Pussy).

Harper is uptight much of the time. She's taken a lot of the work bringing the team around. The team's coach is rarely mentioned. Remy is very playful and charming. He's the only son with 4 older sisters and seven nieces.
I just love the scenes with Remy's family in New Orleans. So rock solid. So warm and loving. Harper had never known that. She may be the head of a sports team, but all the money and power couldn't top what Remy has.
Harper is determined to prove her detractors ( esp the Press) wrong.
It wasn't entirely all smooth when Remy joined the Rebels There was a lot of work to do.
I love their secret affair. Harper, especially wanted to keep it secret. The hiding from the public did go on for a long time.
I loved Remy: great cook, can sing, sexy, charming, funny , speaks a little French...sexy-I said that!
He brings the best out of Harper. She's so serious. Remy brings her food when she forgets to eat.
I enjoyed the ending, but the epilogue wasn't very far into the future! I think that Isobel's book is next.
This book reminded me of a Nora Roberts book/movie Montana Sky with 3 sisters inheriting their late father's ranch. I enjoyed this more. Ms Meader can really turn a phrase.
I received this ARC from Netgalley. Read with pleasure. 4.5 stars

Thought you loved Kate Meader's dirty talking, sexy as all get out firefighters? Well wait until you get a load of her brand new hockey players! The Chicago Rebels are a team looking to redeem themselves with the help of their "take no lip" leader and the veteran hot shot she's bringing in to seal the deal. Well developed characters and plot, lots of steamy sex and just an all around great group of people to hang out with. Can't wait for more in the series!

Harper Chase has been giving her all to the NHL for as long as she can remember, but she never thought she'd be handed over the team by her dad's sudden death ... but wait, she's also stuck with her estranged sisters along for the ride! She'll do anything to turn this team around and bring them to a winning season ... and her latest acquisition just might do the trick!

Remy DuPre has been playing hockey for a long time now and he didn't get his nickname of Jinx for no reason. He's been traded numerous times, had the bad luck of losing championship games, missed out on winning teams, etc. but he's confident this is the year to go all the way ... until he hears he's been traded to the Chicago Rebels!

Kate Meader has become a must-read author for me. I have enjoyed every one of her stories and this one is another great example.

When we read a synopsis that the story is going to be about hockey, I get some immediate assumptions running through my mind. Slutty guy jocks and a chick who tames one. But this one is so very different. While there is nothing wrong with a slutty guy jock.... I am sometimes looking for more substance. Here is that substance.

Solid character development. Very interesting and multi layered characters. A twist with the new team owners being female. Loads of hot guys that are not the typical jocks. Plenty of passion and steamy sex. Great set up for future stories.

The story was in-depth, interesting, damn hot and juicy. A great read all around! I will be waiting for more in this series!

Ms. Meader is the go to author for sexy. Her characters are an irresistible combination of sweet and salty with a pinch of humor thrown in for good measure. Irresistible You is more than a hot tamale read. It tackles real issues. Issues like sexism, self - doubt, pride and second chances. Harper and Chase are the spark of this heated ensemble. Both are desperately trying to prove their worth in a sport that's already written them off. For Remy, hockey is a way of life. His world is the sport that made him a star, but age and reputation precede him and have landed him in a less than stellar position. Harper, is a woman making her way in a man's world. Faced with a failing team, family upheaval and a shocking betrayal she sets out to make her mark. What's a girl to do when faced with a frustrating, egotistical, sexy man? Fall in love, of course. Breaking the ice takes on a whole new meaning.

Contemporary Romance

Chicago, Illinois – Present Day

Harper Chase and her two half-sisters inherited the Chicago Rebels pro-hockey team from their late father. However, Harper feels betrayed by her father, as she thought the team would be solely hers as she’s the one who worked tirelessly in the organization, and because the will stipulates a time limit for her to make the team a winning one or it will be sold. Harper negotiates a trade for star player Remy DuPre, but he never reports to his new team and it’s up to Harper to find him and bring him to Chicago. She arrives at his house with a party in full swing and Remy enjoying himself. But the moment their eyes lock, Harper is afraid she’s going to have to throw out her “no dating of players allowed” policy…for herself.

Remy realizes that at thirty-five and in his final year of a large contract that it makes sense to trade him. But to the worst franchise in hockey? Remy wants to win the Stanley Cup and figures he isn’t going to do it in Chicago. He’s determined to make the Chicago Rebels regret their decision to trade for him. But he can’t stop thinking about Harper Chase. She’s beautiful, sexy…and an ice princess. Yet that doesn’t stop him from wanting her, even as they go toe-to-toe arguing over what is best for the team. Hate turns to lust, and soon neither of them can resist the temptation. Remy negotiates with Harper a way out of Chicago, but is their affair going to end badly if he gets his way?

IRRESISTIBLE YOU by Kate Meader is the first tale in the Chicago Rebels series that focuses on the three half-sisters that inherit a hockey team. Harper is the oldest, and the one who was involved in running the team beside their critical father. She could never please him, and she is stunned when he makes the stipulations in his will. Wanting to prove herself, she brings in her half-sisters, Violet and Isobel, to Chicago and tries to work with them. Alas, most of their interest is in ogling the players. Years ago, Harper got romantically involved with a player, but after he physically struck her, he was traded away and her father blamed her for a lack of control. So, now if Harper wants to prove herself, it’s going to be hands off her players.

Remy is facing the end of his career but still has a dream of winning it all. The Chicago Rebels are really bad, and they’re already 0-4 when he’s traded to them. He strikes a deal with Harper: if he plays well enough by mid-season, he wants to be traded to a playoff contending team. She agrees, because she needs him now. The instant sparks that fly between them are denied by both at first, but they continue to have sizzling chemistry that soon explodes into passion in New Orleans. But the next morning, it’s all business again per Harper. She drives Remy nuts, but he has to play by her rules…for now.

IRRESISTIBLE YOU is one of those books you just can’t put down. There’s hilarious dialogue and bantering between Harper and Remy. There’s hot sex. And finally, it’s as entertaining as it gets. For these reasons, I had to award IRRESISTIBLE YOU one of Romance Review Today’s coveted Perfect 10s. If you’re itching to read a book that will grab you from the moment you pick it up, then look no further, as IRRESISTIBLE YOU is what you’re looking for.

Five icy-hot stars. Kate did it again! She delivered another book with a delicious hero one can't help but fall in love with, a strong heroine you can relate to, a fascinating story you enjoy following along, and fully-fleshed out secondary characters whose future books you're looking forward to reading. Irresistible You is funny, but also addresses several heavy issues like sexism and violence against women. It's super sexy and incredibly fun to read. I love both Remy and Harper and enjoyed their journey into love. I also love the team, the hockey, the Chase sisters, and the DuPre family. The pacing is just right and the situations were realistic. Although many characters were introduced, none of them detracted from the fact that this is Remy and Harper's book. That's very well done by Kate Meader. This is truly a wonderful first book in her new series. I can't wait to read the rest.

Guess what reader? Kate Meader has released another fantastic addicting romance series again. And it involves hockey players!
The series will be Chicago Rebels which feature hot and sweaty hockey players but there is a very strong female heroine too. Irresistible You will introduce the Chicago Rebel hockey players and the three estranged owner sisters. It is going to be a doozy with them but it definitely makes the read so much interesting to read too.
Harper Chase is one of the owner estranged sisters that the reader will get to know more about when she takes charge of the company and their future. Harper Chase had always worked so hard in the hockey workplace that she kinda expected to inherit the company when her father suddenly passed away but her father definitely threw a shocker surprise when he stated that all three of the estranged sister need to be in charge of the hockey team or they get nothing either. She is definitely shocked about the news but she is also determined to make it through since she put her whole life into. It is going to take some time for the sisters to figure out the ways of the hockey team but they are willing to do it with trial and fire. It takes some adjustment for Harper to let her sister in but it will definitely benefit her in every way. While she is figuring out her estranged sisters, she also got to deal with the greatest pain of the butt hockey player, Remy "Jinx" SuPre.
Remy "Jinx" SuPre is definitely one of a kind. He is everything in every way. Ladies love him no matter and men love to be friends with him too. But Harper Chase does not like him at all since he has a crappy attitude from the beginning. Remy often gets bad luck in his hockey career but he is determined to make it to the cup since it is his last game. And he definitely wants to switch team and he got to agree to her terms unless he wants to switch. It may be a struggle for him for him to agree but he does and found himself liking Harper more.
Harper and Remy are definitely opposite of each other but their chemistry between them is insanely hot. The banter between them is so much interesting to read because it is sassy yet cute between them. Their romance may be unexpected between them but definitely fun to enjoy. It may come to some baggage but it is definitely worth it. They need each other than they ever realize.
Irresistible You is a perfect hockey romance read 'cause it will bring sassy banter with funny humor. Five Stars!

As series starters go, Irresistible You is one of the best. This was my first book by Kate Meader and I was completely impressed by the smart storytelling and sparky/sizzling chemistry between Remy and Harper. It was so easy for me to lose myself in their story – a little enchanted with them, heart all aflutter, pulse occasionally racing. I love a good hockey book, and this one struck the perfect balance for me.

Uh, Remy? You guys, I could hear his voice in my head – and it was so divine. He was such a vivid character for me and I loved him so much. I struggled a tiny bit with Harper sometimes, but I also have an appreciation for the way she was written. She was smart and strong and brave. It was impossible not to love the flirty banter and palpable heat between these two.

I also loved how the sisterhood evolved over the course of the book. I’m excited for more of Isobel and Violet and to see how their family dynamic grows and flourishes as the series continues.

Frankly, I’m just excited for the series to continue. This hit all my sweet spots: sexy alpha hockey god, fun flirty banter, and a host of fascinating secondary characters. While Remy and Harper’s love story was wrapped up pretty neatly, I’m hungry to know about where the team goes from here, and how the dynamic will continue to shift. It maybe goes without saying, after all this gushing, that this was a complete hit for me and I cannot wait for more! ~ 4.5 Stars

I'll always have a great time reading Kate Meader. Irresistible You was no exception. It was super fun, deliciously swoony and sexy, a little bit angsty and a lot heartfelt.

After a lifetime of trying to prove herself to her father and miserably failing in his eyes, it seems as though even in death her father is trying to frustrate her. Harper Chase has now co-inherited his nose-diving hockey team together with her two alienated half-sisters. But nothing will stop her for achieving her lifelong dream of heading a successful NHL franchise, not the fact that she’s a woman in a man’s world, not the fact that she barely knows her sisters who aren’t one hundred percent on board and certainly not her recently acquired, too gorgeous for his own good and way off-limits player who doesn’t want to be on her team.

Thought of as the unluckiest player in the NHL, Remy DuPre, still had a chance to finish his pro-hockey career proudly lifting the Stanley Cup until he was traded to the losing Chicago Rebels. He’ll use every weapon in his arsenal, including charm and manipulation, to get what he wants. But trying to break through the walls of his stubborn boss in sexy heels is turning out to be more stimulating and fun than he originally anticipated. Can they find a way for both of them to win?

The atmosphere intensifies as soon as these two lock eyes with one another and all the fun begins. The push and pull between Remy and Harper is delightfully addicting as both have dominant personalities, both are set in what they want and both will do just about anything to achieve their goals. I rooted for them wholeheartedly. Inevitably, their seemingly different career paths push them apart, but it’s really Harper who needs to work through her issues to see what Remy already knew, that their heart and souls are a perfect match and they can work through everything else together.

There are many other things about this Irresistible book to enjoy like Remy’s loveable family, the building relationship between Harper’s sisters who all unequivocally have daddy issues—I expect this relationship to continue developing throughout the series—, the return of Addison and Ford from In Skates Trouble, and the incredible Gretzky… the farting dog.

But what pulls you in and keeps you turning page after page is the reluctant yet undeniable attraction between Remy and Harper. Remy’s magnetism alone is enough to leap from every page, but when all that yummy sexy, swoony, alpha maleness is single-mindedly directed towards Harper, I just about melted along with my eReader.

Irresistible You kick off book in the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader. It is a standalone, hockey full of deliciously swoony, sexy, and sweet moments. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending.

I adored Kate Meader's Chicago firemen but I do believe her hot Chicago hockey guys have them beat!! Remy was fantastic and Harper was the perfect match for him. In the last year of his career Remy DuPre gets traded to the bottom of the barrel Chicago Rebels and let's just say he's not too happy about it. With the last goal of holding the cup on the line he makes a deal with the tough as nails owner Harper Chase. He'll play as hard as he can and lead the team as long as she agrees to trade him to a contending team in 3 months. Everything seems fine until he starts to care a little too much. For his team and for Harper!

A fun sexy read I highly recommend.

I fell in love with Meader's firefighters series but this might be even better. Cajun gentleman, hidden talents in and out of the sheets, and he really speaks French. Remy is a veteran on the ice but his body is slowly giving into the age, and he wants a chance at the Cup. Harper recently inherited the Rebels, along with her two sisters, and has a time limit to improve the team. Her dad was a grade A asshat, she's had to be the parent to her mother and boyfriends don't respect her. Until Remy. The way he woos her with his Cajun charm and affection towards his nieces, and his understanding of women will make any woman fall in love with Remy. Fantastic characters with deep back stories and exciting lead in to the love lives of her sisters, this will be the hottest hockey series yet. I was thrilled to get an early copy from Netgalley and have voluntarily written this review.

Let me start off by stating this is my first ever KATE MEADER novel and I couldn't be happier with how Irresistible You turned out! I loved everything about this novel!

Oh my lord! If you're in the mood to lust and swoon over a Ragin' Cajun grab this book! With the tongue of a devil and the heart of an angel, Remy is the PERFECT PACKAGE. Its hard not to fall for this book boyfriend!

Harper Chase has had a rough life. growing up she was constantly pushed to the back burner by her father and neglected by her mother. The only thing she has ever wanted to do is eventually take over the hockey team her dad runs. When Harper's dad passes away suddenly his last request cuts Harper bone deep. In order to keep the hockey team she has loved her whole life she must co-exist with her two half sisters and work together on bringing the worst hockey team in history to the playoffs. If she can do this unimaginable task then the hockey team is hers.

Remy DuPre has only one goal in mind. Win the Stanley cup before retiring at he end of the season. So when he suddenly gets traded to the worst team in hockey history to say this Cajun is pissed would be a complete understatement. Things get interesting when he meets his new female boss and an undeniable attraction sparks between the two. Now Remy must decide if the Stanley Cup is still the most important goal for this season or is winning Harper Chase's heart a step ahead of those previous dreams.

I loved the hell out of Remy and Harper's romance. It was not only sexy and swoony, but it had an honest feel to it. It felt like experiencing a first crush all over again and feeling that crush grow into something more.

I loved Harper's attitude on the outside but deep inside she was suffering through her fears of a past situation that occurred. I loved Remy's alpha side when he found out the secret Harper was holding in. He brought a whole new meaning to the name Ragin' Cajun! Harper's situation broke my heart. The pain she's lived with and kept to herself for practically her whole life scratched at my soul. She needed someone like Remy to come along and blow all of those inner demons away.

I really enjoyed the fact that this hockey romance had a twist. Usually its all about men in the industry meeting puck bunnies or woman who are outsiders. This time the woman are also in the industry. I love the challenge these three sisters are having to face. Bring a failing hockey team up to the playoffs or you lose the team. I'm intrigued to see where this is going. I can't wait to see what's coming next!

I Highly recommend Irresistible You by Kate Meader to all the Hockey Romance Junkies!

3.5 stars

I'm gonna be upfront and admit I know zilch about Hockey, coming from an equatorial country. What I know or watch about the sport has been mostly from books or movies; but even that tiny, teensy bit of had been enough to get me to like (the sound of) it and the (romance) stories about it. That saying, sadly the technicality of this sport still eludes me.

Irresistible You is the first to Kate Meader's new steamy Chicago Rebels series that centered around the three half-sisters who inherited the declining team and the (hockey) players. It's - for want of a better word - an "office affair". On the spotlight this time were Harper - the eldest Chase - and Remy DuPre, a newly acquired Hockey veteran who wanted to win Stanley cup before retiring from the ice.

I have to say my first impression of Remy was not a good one. I got that he's pissed of his trade into the team while he already had his own agenda. But it's very underhanded of him to "blackmail" Harper for a gentlemen's agreement. It took a while for me to warm up to him. And I got the secondary character Bren St. James to thank for that ...along with the strong desire for Bren's story on future installment in the series (fingers-crossed, given the hints thrown along the pages).

Harper's character was not what I expected, after reading about her in In Skates Trouble. I especially loved the awkward and wary bonding process the Chase sisters dealing with. In fact, theirs trumped over Harper and Remy's love affair for me. Don't get me wrong, the romance side of this book was scorching hot. But Harper's conflicting feelings over her younger sister - which reflected her own unhappy childhood - was what got my heart twisted. That her past set her apart and made her standoffish to any closeness was just heartbreaking.

With this book only the first full novel of the series though, we still have long to go with the Chase sisters. The ending might be predictable, but I thought the reveal and the whole arrangement was so sweet that I FINALLY warm up to Remy. Yes, close to the end of the story. But let's face it, I knew going in that Harper and Remy would have their happy beginning. So I really didn't begrudge them their happy ending. :)

Harper Chase has been working toward her goal of running the Chicago Rebels hockey team her entire life. Despite being the daughter of the owner of the team, and NFL legend Crawford Chase, Harper has worked her way up from the bottom to learn all the ins and outs of the business. So when her father passes away and Harper learns the fate of the team is contingent on her and her half sisters successfully leading the team to a season win (which seems like an impossibility considering the Rebels are the second worst in the league) Harper is blindsided by the news. But it's not the first tough time Harper has faced in her life, and she assumes it won't be the last. Her strategy toward meeting the goal set before her rests on the shoulders of Remy DuPre, a talented hockey player almost on his way out. Harper knows with his talent, he could pull the team together, however, she doesn't bank on Remy not exactly being happy about his addition to the team. But as these two clash, they quickly discover an attraction that won't be stifled despite the risk involved if their relationship is discovered.

Irresistible You was one of those wonderful books that I didn't know I needed until I was already engrossed within its pages. It was a nearly perfect read for me, and the set up for more with the characters in future books is really promising.

The attraction between Remy and Harper was built up to perfection. I loved the enemies-to-lovers / "office" romance trope that this particular story deals with. Harper's reluctance to become involved with Remy is completely valid due to events in her past that makes her weary of the complications that can arise with such a hook-up. But it also speaks true to how she, as a woman in what is considered a man's world, would be picked apart by the very industry that she loves with all her heart. The double standard that Harper and her sisters have to deal with is front and center, and it's definitely something that will continue to pop up with the remainder of the books in the series I suppose.

Really, though, Remy was just the best hero to Harper's heroine. His understanding for Harper's situation is great, even though he doesn't want to give outsiders and critics the power to determine he and Harper's relationship status. He tries everything to convince her that the only opinions that matter are his and hers. In an instance where many authors would have thrown in an almost unnecessary conflict between our main characters to draw them apart, I appreciated the way Kate Meader navigated through Remy and Harper's courtship. It rang true for me. I loved it.

Kate Meader is no stranger to highlighting sibling relationships as can been seen in her Hot in Chicago series. Here, it's the only aspect that I wish we got a little more depth on. Half-sisters Harper, Isobel, and Violet have such a checkered past between them, and with the mandate that they all be involved in the team in some way, shape, or form, it's an opportunity for them to get past the issues between them, and grow closer.

As I say I would have loved more depth between the sisters here, but I'll leave off with the caveat that since this is a series, hopefully readers will see them continue to grow together in the remaining books. If that's the case, I'll be satisfied, but as of right now, I'm left wanting more. Which I suppose is not a bad thing.

Kate Meader definitely leaves us with a pretty nice set-up (and one of my favorite romance tropes) for the next book / sister. I wish it was out now. This series is definitely one that has binge-worthy potential.
