The first full title in the Chicago Rebels series did not disappoint. Kate Meader has another hit series on her hand. What happens when an absentee and hard to please father dies leaving his hockey team to his three daughters? Chaos ensues! Harper is the oldest of the siblings and the most closed off in a bubble of her own making. She thinks maintaining her personal and professional distance from others keeps her in control (and safe). What she doesn't count on is having her world shaken up when Remy becomes the Rebels newest acquisition. Whether Remy can melt the control of the ice queen remains to be seen. He's head over skates for Harper, but she's not going to be an easy conquest.

I highly recommend this new series and can't wait to read the next installment.

With its compelling sports theme and engaging romance, the first book in the Chicago Rebels series is off to a fabulous start. While hockey does play a very important part in the story, many additional topics become the focus from time to time. From family drama to secret desires to commitment, the book explores these issues with much depth. Kate Meader has the ability to make me a believer when it comes to each situation created, as characters are convincing while events are always true-to-life. Every development in IRRESISTIBLE YOU is realistic, heartfelt, and profoundly affecting.

Although Harper Chase had been the vice president of the Chicago Rebels, her father had always made any decisions related to the professional hockey team. But when her parent recently passed away, she took over the general manager duties while trying to work with her two sisters as stated in the will. Unfortunately, the team seldom wins, which makes it in desperate need of an overhauling. Harper has already implemented one big change by acquiring a player from another team. Yet the man appears to have no intention of abiding by all of her rules.

When Remy “Jinx” DuPre heard he had been traded, the long-time player was upset as he thought his current team might win the Stanley Cup this year, and he really wants a championship before he retires. Assisting Harper in making the Rebels a better team is certainly not how he wants to finish his career. When Remy makes his demands known to his new boss, she has some requirements of her own, and being in full agreement could possibly change both of their futures.

From the very beginning of IRRESISTIBLE YOU, I was totally captivated by the clever circumstances imagined by Kate Meader. Having three women manage a hockey team is definitely not the norm in this league, and the hidden demands of their father’s will double the pressure these sisters must face. Harper is the oldest and is trying to prove she is just as capable as a man in leading a pro team to victory. I really felt for her, as her troubled past is exposed in numerous ways. There were occasions when I cheered her on, and then other instances where I was moved because her feelings are laid bare. The sexual tension between Harper and Remy is intense from their first meeting, and it gradually becomes sky-high after further interaction. This is one time I can honestly say their yearning for each another was also experienced by me because details associated with their lusty cravings are vividly portrayed. How this couple expresses their emotions is always genuine, and I really enjoyed seeing this strong man come across as so compassionate. Remy is truly an ideal hero, as he is understanding, can carry on a thoughtful conversation, yet is extremely sensual and even intelligently witty.

The consequences of a hockey team player becoming romantically entangled with his female boss are expertly handled by Kate Meader, and my anxiety kept increasing over what Harper and Remy would ultimately end up doing. So many scenarios could take place, and I never knew how any situation would turn out. There are several hints about the following story in the series, and I am very eager to discover what happens.

I voluntarily reviewed the book from the publisher via NetGalley, and all comments are my honest opinion

I've long been a fan of Ms. Meader's contemporary romance novels. I was excited to try this first in a new hockey series, and it was funny, very sexy and had great characters!

Harper Chase, daughter of Clifford Chase, hockey legend and owner of the Chicago Rebels, has hockey in her blood. His sudden heart attack and death recently shook the franchise. She felt she had been groomed for taking over the team, until the reading of the will. Her father was laughing from the grave. Suddenly she has two step-sisters who are thrust upon each other to make something out of this bedraggled team. Isobel, a rising star in the women's hockey field had a career ending injury, and now is coaching a team in Canada. Violet, a product of a one night stand and the youngest is a spitfire, inked go-getter. They seldom saw each other and had no "sisterly" feelings, but they all wanted the benefits stated in the will, an impossible task. They had to do this together.

Remy Dupre, likely in his last year of playing was traded from Boston to Chicago. It's an understatement to say he was not happy. All he wanted to finish his career was The Cup, and he knew that wasn't going to happen with the Rebels. He was Cajun, loved his family of four sisters, and his parents. He has wanted to be a pro hockey player since he was a young boy. He and Harper clash at every turn, he wants out, she needs him. But Remy has a compromise. He will play his heart out until the All Star game and trading time. He wants to be traded to a Cup contender. Reluctantly Harper agrees.
There is also an underlying spark that snaps everytime they see other....Harper had a frightening experience dating a hockey player, that changed her life, and her relationship with her dad. But Remy is different, isn't he?

Spending so much time with Remy she sees the man underneath all those pads. He's warm, caring and a perfect gentleman. Not to mention gorgeous, and she's falling under his spell. He wants to take it further, but the team is all she has right now, so hiding their relationship is the only choice. The Rebels are winning, thanks to Remy's skill and relationships with the other players. How is she going to trade him, but more importantly, how can she lose him?

I received this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley for review.

IRRESISTIBLE YOU is simply irresistible. And I’ll give you two words why.

Remy DuPre.

Sigh. Remy is irresistible. He is a nurturer. He cooks. He is a star hockey player. He gives good orgasms. Is there anything he can’t do?!?! He is such a gentleman! And of the highest order! His family is all women and he cannot wait for his own family. A totally swoonworthy hero if I’ve ever read one. And to think I was ready to write him off in the first chapter. Shame on me.

And Harper is just as fantastic as Remy. She is a fighter and a feminist and a smart business woman. She is someone your daughters can look up to. She is trying so hard for her team to be successful and she is working on her relationship with her estranged sisters. Their bonding nights were delightful. I look forward to the future Chase sister books.

The chemistry, the dialogue, the sweetness, the food…yes, the food! IRRESISTIBLE YOU has it all. It is an excellent story and I enjoyed it a lot.

Sorry this was a DNF for me. I could not connect with the characters or the authors writing. I'm taking this author off my TBR list. Thank you for the opportunity.

As a huge fan the sports romance genre I am always pretty picky about what makes the cut. Irresistable You started out a bit slow and I was tempted to move on, however, I am so glad that I didn't because the story really picked up and delivered a fabulous sports romance. Harper and Remy were terrific together and their chemistry was fantastic. I loved the dynamic of Remy being brought on to bring this hockey team out of the slum they were in. The locker room interactions were hilarious but the passion and restrained desire between Harper and Remy was so well written. I loved their story and they very quickly held a place in my heart. I would have liked a bit more "oomph" to the ending but overall a really fun and sexy sports romance.

i fell in love with the author after her hot in chicago series and was eagerly anticipating this book. it fell short for me though. i absolutely loved remy but i didnt really like harper. she was too much of a shrew. i thought the trope of a distant father figure leaving an inheritance to his random children who don't get along was outdated but im glad they seemed to get along sooner rather than later. this book just didn't have the charm or banter between the romantic leads that i was expecting but the supporting characters were great. hopefully the next book will improve

I really liked this new book by Kate Meader. It is the first book in her Chicago Rebels series. This series is about a set of three sisters who inherit a hockey team. Being women in a male dominated world is tough, not really knowing each other makes managing the team even more of a challenge. The sisters may share a father, but they are as different as different can be.
Harper Chase is the oldest sister. She grew up around her father’s hockey team and always thought that she would inherit everything. All her life she has tried to win her father’s approval and to show him that she is the woman for the task. Now that she is part owner of the team, she gets to make some big changes. Harper hopes that she will be able to take the team from last place to the Stanley Cup playoffs within the year. In order to do that, she needs to shake up the players and the managing staff. What Harper doesn’t expect is to find herself shaken up as well and to start questioning in her “no fraternization with the players” rule.
Remy DuPre is so close to the Stanley Cup, he can taste it. He knows that this is probably his last year in the NHL and playing for the Boston Cougars is the best way to end his career. Remy is also known as the Jinx. He has been traded 6 times and each time those teams went onto play for the Cup. This year is his year. Until he gets traded to the Chicago Rebels. Remy has no desire to play for a last place team and knows that if he can’t get out of the trade, he won’t be able to end his career on a high note. Then he meets Harper and finds himself instantly attracted to her.
Remy and Harper are placed in a no win situation. They both want the impossible and have to figure out how to get it. Harper has to win the Stanley Cup to keep the team and Remy wants to be with a winning team. The attraction they feel for each other only gets in the way of their plans. Watching them figure out what to do makes this story a real delight.
I also liked how different the three sisters are and what they expect to get out of the situation. They each bring a unique perspective and their interactions make for a nice underlying storyline to add depth to the romance. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next with each of them.
Reading about hockey during the summer was a nice way to remember that the cooler temperatures will be here before you know it. This story was hot enough to melt ice. It is a great book to take to the beach.

Irresistible is a wonderfully passionate romance in the Chicago Rebels Series. Not only was this book passionate and hot, it also had the ability to woo the reader right along with the main character Harper Chase.

Remy DuPre is an amazing man. He is the man girls dream of that will take them away to a fantasy land of love. You know the type of guy, says all the perfect things, physically perfect, makes you laugh and builds you up, um, and cooks amazing. The only thing is that Harper is not the normal girl. Let's just say daddy issues, and forcing herself to be completely closed off to any other people. Even her half sisters and she have zero connection.n It's all part of her be the boss, am the boss, take no prisoners attitude she has.

The characters were written in a way that you can believe their progression. From Harper to being sort of cold behind her shield of stregnth, to then evolving to not only loving a man but developing what looks to be a true lasting relationship with her half sisters. Honestly, the sisters were the strongest part of the book to me. Seeing their like passive aggressive interactions slowly improve was something you hoped for while reading. It was something that Harper needed, well, ALL the sisters needed after how their father completely ruined their relationship.

I love this book! I also completely intend on getting the rest of the books in the series as they are released. If I am not mistaken, I believe it's going to follow the sisters and I really enjoyed them. I received a free ARC copy of this book from the publisher to review and I would say this was sweet and hot, and a must read.

4 Stars- Kate Meader has a proven track record. She writes excellent books. The characters are clear and the plot solid. We have a father who from the grave insults the oldest daughter by not believing in her ability to run the Hockey team on her own. Instead he hangs all sorts of conditions around her neck... making it almost impossible to hold on to the team.

Her only hope is an almost over the hill player... a man who has decided this is his year to get to the Stanley cup... something that has alluded him his whole career. These two scrap, bicker and banter... and finally come to an agreement.
We get to enjoy all of this and also get sneak peeks of possible leads for upcoming books for this new series.

It was an okay novel. Did not see anything spectacular about it. Was disappointed to see that it was in third person POV, not sure how I felt about that. If it was in first person I would have connected with the novel and characters a lot more. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review.

I really don't know how she does it. Kate has this way with her writing that draws me in and doesn't let go. I live near Chicago and I love that she has most of her stories taking place there. It feels a bit like home while reading.

"When your happiness was someone else's happiness, then that was love."

Remy and Harper had so much chemistry and that spark you love to find while reading. This book melted my heart and gave me those flutters that you feel deep inside. From the witty dialogue to the page turner of a story line, this book was everything. I loved that we got a bit more of the sisters that are helping her take over the team. I am so excited for the next book in this series. Kate has another hit series on her hands here and I couldn't be more thrilled for her. This book will be one of my favorite reads of the year.

"What if it was Harper or nothing at all? God Hates a coward, Remy. He needed to get off the fence and make a call."

You had me at hockey!

This is my first Kate Meader read, however it won't be my last.

Now, I am a real sucker for a hockey hottie (that's what she said!) so it was a no brainer to read Irresistible You. Once I picked it up, what it really was was irresistible to me!

Once I started, I couldn't stop reading Harper and Remy's story. Their spark and banter drew me in, their family and friends kept things rolling, and I just needed to know more.

I love the premise of Harper and her sisters now owning a hockey team *singing sisters are doing it for themselves

The story flowed well, there is great character development, lots of emotion - and now I am impatiently waiting for the next book!

Can't wait to see where the story takes us.

A slow start, but a gorgeously romantic powerhouse finish. Harper, having inherited with her two sisters the Chicago Rebels hockey team is convinced that sex and hockey do not mix. I admit that I found the private Harper a difficult character to understand much less like. But, having met Remy, the Cajun French-speaking, family-loving, dumb gift-giving, and jambalaya-cooking hockey star, I am so glad that I stayed to the sweet end.

Kate Meader does family dynamics beautifully. Some of the scenes with Harper and her estranged sisters Violet and Isobel were as dramatic or emotional as those between Harper and Remy.
I wanted the sisters to bond just as much as I wanted a HEA for Harper and Remy. Also, I enjoyed that the guys on Remy's team are becoming a family unit as well. The guys arguing over the "most lethal fruit" had me laughing out loud, while grumpy Bren's attempts to talk honestly with Remy made me hope that the gruff Scot is sequel bait.

Harper was a difficult character to understand or enjoy. That said, I'm looking forward to the future of the Chicago Rebels - those on the ice and off. The preview for the next Chicago Rebels teasing about jockish Isobel and Russian manwhore hockey star Vadim was scorching. Sign me up, please.

4.5 very intrigued stars

For someone who sure does have an aversion to actually playing sports, I absolutely love reading about them. It's the unimaginable thrill, the camaraderie, the in-fighting, the drama, the exuberance and adrenaline rush of a win and the suffocating defeat and melancholy of a loss but above all, it's the romance and passion and fire that helps elevate the win to something more, or that is there to soften the blow of the loss- Sports romance, is without a doubt my favourite sub-genre in romance. I've read an inordinate amount of them in my four years reviewing books and because of this my standards are pretty high flying. I had actually taken a break from reading them, as I was disappointed by numerous recent ones, but it was only by glorious chance that I came across Kate Meader and her new ice-hockey novel that has three of the most intriguing, engaging and kick-a$$ heroines to date- three estranged sisters, coming together however reluctantly to tackle an arduous task most men would welch at- the running of a failing ice hockey team.

'"All the ghosts of New Orleans had my back. This is a town that roots for forbidden passion, you know."'

Let me start by telling you this book is utterly incredible. The pace, the action on the ice rink, how the plays are described and the interconnecting relationships and drama that unfold, create this immensely exciting, romantic and thrilling story. When they win, you feel it right along side them. Their struggles and hopes are tied into your own. The range and personalities of each and every character draws you in. The suave accents, the rebels, the loved up ones, the bad guys we all love to hate and the insecure but brave ones, and In particular Harper Chase- our fierce, independent and courageous heroine. She is truly remarkable and her newest acquisition to the team also sees these wonderful qualities.
I've never wanted a fictional book hero to be more real, than I did Remy DuPre (gah! even his name is awesome to say). This man is the very definition of what a hero should be. He is chivalrous, loves his mammy, plays like a demon on the ice, knows when to take charge but also when to hand over the reigns to his woman. He's equal opportunities, can kiss in the New Orleans rain and make a mean sandwich. A fed and well sexed up woman is indeed a happy woman and by the end of this book I was swooning and sighing like a Jane Austen character. Kate Meader has given her readers heroines that every little girl should want to emulate and heroes that every little boy should aspire to be. Individually these two are beautiful souls, a little lonely, lost and unsure but fighters at heart. Together they make one of the best and stunning couples I've had the pleasure to read.

'"Think I've forgotten all you've done for me, Harper? I'm letting those memories of our night together fuel every stride on the ice, every pass of the puck, and every shot between the pipes. And when I need to refill the well, I take myself in hand, remembering those sexy sounds you made when I was buried deep in the heart of you."

This review is a rather long-winded way to say you definitely need this book in your life and even if you aren't a sports fan, you'll still want this book in your life. It's sensual, exciting, hope filled and you get a terrific happy ever after as well as a sneak peek at the next book. Can it be December already please!

4 1/2 Stars! Harper Chase and her 2 half-sisters inherit the Rebels hockey team from their father. But the only way they'll get to keep this 2nd last place team, is if they make the playoffs. Harper has lived and breathed "hockey" since she was a little girl, trying to get her father's attention, while he was already on to his 2nd family ... with his 2nd little girl. In order to try and take this failing team into the playoffs, she signs on the well-known Cajun hockey player "Remy" to get the team moving. But Remi doesn't want to play for a failing team … it's his last year in the NHL and he wants his name on the coveted Stanley Cup. So he makes a deal with Harper that if he can get the team into a semi-playoff state by trade deadline, she will trade him to a team that has a chance at winning the Cup. But neither one of them counted on the sparks that would fly between them and how great they would be together.

This is a heartwarming story that will make you laugh, cry and everything in between. And did I mention the steamy scenes ... well, let me tell you, Ms Meader sure knows how to write steam! A great beginning to a new series. I can't wait for the other sister's stories.

I received an ARC copy courtesy of Gallery Threshold Pocketbooks through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Irresistible You is a fun, sexy, hot hockey read. Three estranged sisters take over the Chicago Rebels and have one year to prove that they can be successful., that means some changes in the players.... enter Remy DuPre. Remy is brought to the team to help unite them and lead them to the playoffs. The Cajun hockey player is hot and cocky, a dangerous combination especially when dealing with Harper. What a great start to new series. I can't wait to see what happens next!

WOW! Looking for some hot hockey players? Well you have just found them! I am looking to read the other series by this author. This book is filled with strong women and strong men. The chemistry between these characters are off the charts and I can not wait to get my hands on the other stories to come of this group of men & women!
