Harper and Remy are going to be hard to top in this series. Harper is the co-owner/GM of the struggling Chicago Rebels hockey team. She and her sisters have a short time to turn the team around or lose their inheritance. However, they don't exactly get along and the sports world does not believe in them. Harper trades to get Remy. He is not happy because he is on a team that may actually have a chance at the Stanley Cup. Harper has to maneuver between her sisters, an unhappy hockey player and all the other obstacles in her way. The biggest obstacles of all is her attraction to Remy. It burns hot and out of control. She can't let the world know she is sleeping with her hockey player. Sneaking around and almost getting caught puts a strain on things. Remy is the a book boyfriend that everyone will love. He sings, he cooks and has the body to die for. And the best thing of all, he thinks Harper is the the one and wants to take care of her without trampling on who she is. A definite win.

A hockey empire is in danger of crumbling when the owner leaves it all to his daughters. Can they make it work? It's never wise to mix business with pleasure but when Harper falls for her Cajun player it makes it one spicy season full of twists, turns, and surprises.

Both need to overcome their past, work on their careers and decide if love is worth risking it all.

Who will you root for this hockey season?

Kate Meader writes some steamy and fun books. But this one didn’t work for me. One, I couldn’t like the main characters. I wasn’t able to connect to them and found their dialogue and actions cheesy and annoying.

This is the first book in the Chicago Rebels series by Kate Meader. It is the first book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It has an engaging storyline, entertaining characters and I can't wait to read the next story in this series. This is a charming and emotional story about three estranged stepsisters forced together by the dictates of their father's will. Their father was a critical man and now even in death, he has made their lives difficult. This is Harper's story.

Harper is disappointed her father didn't leave the Chicago Rebels hockey team to her. Now she has to deal with two stepsisters she barely knows and they have to make all the decisions about the team together. Harper has been working for her father and with the team for years and she is now the acting general manager.

Remy and Harper are brought together when Harper acquires Remy for the Chicago Rebels. Remy’s nickname is Jinx because he is considered the unluckiest guy in the NHL and he is not happy when he is traded to the Rebels. I really liked Remy. He has a great Cajun accent, is close to his family, loves to cook and is sensitive, caring and protective.

When Harper first meets Remy she doesn't have a very high opinion of him but the more she gets to know him, the more she likes him. Harper and Remy have a lot of chemistry but because she is his boss, they fight their attraction. My only issue with this story, is there were times I had a difficult time liking Harper. Her father was a mean and heartless man and left all his daughters with issues. Harper can be cold and distant and doesn't always treat Remy well. Remy is always so patient and understanding with Harper and while I admire his patience, I didn't think she deserved it. I liked Harper’s two stepsisters and can't wait to read their stories in the upcoming books in this series. This is a fun and heartwarming story.

If you've read enough of my reviews, I love me a sports romance but I know absolutely nothing about hockey (and football if I'm honest) but this is another sports romance I LOVED!! This story sort of put me in mind of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Chicago Stars series - if you haven't read those, READ THEM!

Anyway, there's a new female CEO/Owner of the sports team - in this case, she knows what she's doing - but she's having to put back together a less than stellar team. Her father's General Manager didn't do the team any favors and he's allowed for a lackluster team. Anyway, she needs a great backbone of the team and she thinks she's found that in Remy.

Remy does not want to be traded to a bad team like Chicago because that seems unlikely to his plans to win the Stanley Cup before he retires. And oh Remy, he's stinking adorable! Definitely going to have to get this in audiobook just to hear his Cajun accent.

They're both so super strong-willed and stubborn but they're like gas and a match when they get together. I can't wait for more of this series!!

Harper Chase is the most powerful woman in the NHL after the death of her father, Clifford Chase, maverick owner of the Chicago Rebels. Veteran center Remy “Jinx” DuPre is on the downside of a career that’s seen him win big sponsorships, fans’ hearts, and more than a few notches on his stick. Only one goal has eluded him: the Stanley Cup

Irresistible You is the first book in Kate Meader's Chicago Rebels series and I have to say that I really enjoyed this book. Both Harper and Remy had something to prove. Harper that she could be a successful NHL owner and Remy that he could win the Stanley Cup. The characters are well developed and the story line is amazing.

I cannot wait to read the next book in this series, So Over You.

Irresistible You
Chicago Rebels #1
Kate Meader
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A new series by Kate Meader, The Chicago Rebels, a hockey team that was inherited by 3 sisters to run. The first book Irresistable You is the story of the oldest sister Harper and the newly acquired player Remy. Remy's a super hot sweet talking Cajun man that found himself falling head over heels for his new Team owner.
Harper is trying her hardest to make it as a female owner in a male sport with a failing team. She has to make it or break it with this season.
The growing romance between Harper and Remy is unstoppable. This is a great start to this series. I can't wait to start book 2 So Over You which is the middle daughter Isobel's story.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

Hot hockey player falls in love with the owner of his new team? Sign. Me. Up. You had me at 'hot hockey player,' but I also love sports romances with a woman in charge. I always love the little extra layer that adds to the story. Kate Meader is another new-to-me author that I've heard so many good things about and I've been looking forward to picking up Irresistible You. This is going to sound pretty corny, but Remy and Harper really were irresistible. I gladly spent two nights losing sleep because I couldn't put this book down. I loved that Remy holds no punches. Whether Harper is ready or not, Remy is determined to find a way into her heart. He's as patient as he can be while Harper fights her demons and when it looks like she needs a bit of a push, he's there to help. I loved that never once did he fight or question his feelings. Harper may have wounded his heart a time or two, but he stood strong with his heart. Harper, on the other hand, is thrown for one big-ass loop when her attraction for Remy turns into something deeper. Her heart and her brain are at odds for most of the book and rightfully so. The ringer she's been put through is enough to make anyone pause. I loved that she was strong enough to fight her demons and eventually was able to let people in. Not just Remy, but also her sisters. Irresistible You was just so much fun to read. I adored the characters and I can't wait to get to know Harper's sisters better. I loved Kate's writing style. Being inside Remy and Harper's thoughts was hysterical most of the time, especially when they were gettin' hot and steamy. Speaking of sexy time... Holy cow, it was hot! Overall, Irresistible You was a great start to introduce myself to Kate's books. I actually realized a few minutes ago that I have the prequel novella to the Chicago Rebels series on my Kindle. Guess what I'll be reading soon... Yay!

Great start to a new series! I read the prequel as part of a hockey themed anthology and decided to give the series a try! Harper and her half sisters have to pull off the impossible, thanks dad, and they start making drastic changes. Remy gets pulled from a good team to this down and out team and hates it at first. Then the chemistry between these two ignites and throws their carefully laid plans into turmoil. I loved the snark and camaraderie, and the sweet things that Remy does for Harper. On to the next book in the series...

4.5 stars

Mon dieu….give me a minute while I turn down the air conditioning because this book is H-O-T! As a huge fan of Kate Meader’s work, I was excited about this new series after the novella, In Skates Trouble, but Irresistible You blew me away. An aging Cajun hockey player in search of The Cup and with the know how to pull a team together, and a smart, savvy, team owner trying to prove to her players, her co-owners who are also her half-sisters, the league, the press, and the world that she has the moxy and the smarts to succeed and her team to win find that no matter how hard they try they can’t deny the attraction and growing feelings between them. With so much on the line professionally and personally, these two struggle to find the perfect balance in their lives.

One thing I’ve always loved about Ms. Meader is she writes strong, female characters and Harper Chase defines strong. Thrown over by her father at age 6 for his new family, taking care of her mother who never recovered from his betrayal until her death from cancer, working in the Chicago Rebel’s organization under her father, surviving an abusive ex, and realizing that even in his death, her father wants nothing more than to see her fail, Harper is determined to show him and everyone else she will not give up or back down. I loved her competence in running the team, the way she took care of her players, the bond she was trying to build with her sisters, and her unwavering devotion to making her team they best they could be even if that means making deals she doesn’t always like. I also appreciated that she respected her new center Remy DuPre and knew he could bring stability and cohesiveness to the team, but she also wasn’t going to let him walk all over her.

As much as I love strong, female characters I equally love “good guy” heroes and Remy DuPre is the very best kind of man. There is no doubt he’s a tad arrogant and has enjoyed everything being a professional hockey player affords him, but he loves his family fiercely, he loves that he gets to play hockey for a living, and once his career is over he plans to settle down with a “femme” and raise a family because he doesn’t want his wife to have to raise their children on her own, he wants to be there one hundred percent of the time and give his children the same childhood he had with his parents. Remy is smooth and sweet and when he lapses into his Cajun French, I guarantee panties drop everywhere. Most of all, his respect of Harper and the way he begins to understand every little thing about her and that her integrity is all she has.

From their first meeting, the pull between them was evident and only grows as this book goes on and while it starts out as attraction and lust, it grows to so much more as they discover they genuinely like and admire one another. There was so much going on in this book with the team, with Harper’s sisters, and life in general but never once did I feel the romance and relationship between Remy and Harper got lost in the story.

I enjoyed every fun, sexy, charming, and entertaining moment of Irresistible You and this promises to be another fantastic series from author Kate Meader.

The hero was absolutely disgusting and I didn't like him at all. This book was a miss for me. I have enjoyed some of her previous books though.

A steamy hockey romance with a strong female lead and a cocky, sexy, player. I enjoy a good sports romance and this one was ok. Not a favorite but not bad.

I really couldn't care less about Hockey in general, but Kate Meader's newest series has me signing up for skating lessons and embracing future puck bunny status. No shame here. Irresistible You takes the current trend of hockey sports romances and does it better than anyone else. That's saying something.

Harper Chase is the most powerful woman in professional hockey as the new owner and general manager of the Chicago Rebels. There's a huge target on her back as a woman in a male dominated field and that says nothing about the strings her dad placed in his will regarding the future of the team. The last thing she needs, or maybe the thing she needs most, is fire hot chemistry with the veteran player, Remy Dupre, whom she hired to turn the failing Rebels around.

Irresistible You has everything I like in a contemporary sports romance. A strong, independent, female lead, a touch of girl power, and a confident male lead with rock hard abs and deep family values.

Harper Chase was expecting to inherit her father’s hockey team. She had been working for the team for years, and now her father has thrown everything into flux with his terms of her and her two half-sister’s being co-owners and that the team must make the playoffs or the team will be sold. Now dealing with the team first which is something her father did not do. She fires the general manager and appoints herself and her first move is trade for veteran Remy “Jinx” DuPre, who does not want to leave Boston because they look like the favorites to win the Stanley Cup. Upset he ignores her messages to come to Chicago to be with the team and says he will meet them in Philly. She goes to his home in Boston and so begins the Harper and Remy story. From there they begin there torrid affair, and I must say the author makes it work between them. Harpers simple shoe shopping turns into a hot escapade that gives you the reader a glimpse of what they could have if either one of them gives the other one themselves. Each one is dealing with their issue. Herr’s is waiting for her back in Chicago in the two sister’s that she really does not know, and the only person she blames is herself. When the sister’s start becoming that they are a force to be reckoned with and Harper gets the strength to face her one demon her father and does. That is a great scene, and gives her the power she always had. Now it’s time for Remy to act or not act on the demand he gave her at the beginning and by doing so he will for sure set the relationship in full power play mode. An excellent book with good characters. Also good hockey.

All Harper Chase wanted to do ever since she was little was to manage Chicago Rebel Hockey Team. She worked under her father and is very capable of running the team but her late father’s will derailed her. unfortunately her father’s will stated Harper had to work with her sisters and make it to post season to keep the team.
Harper hard at work and trades Remy “Jinx” Dupre. Remy is close to his retire age but no championship ring. So he was planning to get to post season and get the ring and retire after this season. When he finds out he is traded to losing team Rebels, he is clashing with Harper on every decision she makes. He wanted his way no matter what so he demands he would be traded to best team once Chicago Rebel makes to post season. If they can get along.
Harper and Remy are arguing all the time but attraction to each other heats up every time they face each other. Remy with smooth personality and his cooking skills impress Harper and finally team is coming together. But Harper can’t cross the line between employer and employee relationship. They must work together to achieve their own goals but they can’t let go of the attraction to each other.
It was great hockey romance. I would love to have Remy of my own who cooks, has body of adonis and etc. Harper and Remy’s chemistry was fantastic to the story. I can’t wait for the next one.. Harper’s sisters were quite funny too. I can’t wait to read what happens after the epilogue..

A decadently written sports romance from Kate Meader with achingly fantastic characters and a sexy storyline! This is a book you will be sure to devour because who doesn't enjoy a sexy and delightful sports romance? Kate Meader did a great job with her very first sports romance. Her writing captures you just as much as her characters do. And just look at that cover! You can practically feel yourself melting with a cover like this!

*Flails happily*

It’s official. I’m totally and completely head over heals for this brand new series from Kate Meader. Hook, line, and sinker, people. HOOK. LINE. AND SINKER. Or should I should I say hockey stick? Because this had everything that first made me fall in love with Meader’s writing. Endearing and vivid characters, sizzling steam, addicting plot, and hot hockey players as the icing on the top.

Irresistible You introduces us to the Chase sisters. After their philandering, famous ex hockey player turned team owner dies, they find themselves having to come together to turn around a failing hockey team. At the head of it all is Harper Chase, brand new acting GM of the Chicago Rebels. It’s hard enough to gain respect as a female in the sport, but now she has to bring this team around. Her first stop? Bring the team’s recent trade to heel.

Remy “Jinx” DuPre knows he’s looking at his final year in the sport that he loves. He’s too old to be taking the hits he’s been taking and he wants to go down on top. Unfortunately his recent trade to the Chicago Rebels is pretty much ensuring he won’t get there. The team is nowhere close to playoffs and the team’s GM is a stuffy, stick up her butt female that he wants nothing to do with. Too bad the sexual chemistry between them is impossible to ignore.

He’d never met a woman who needed to be fucked as badly as Harper Chase. Who needed to be kissed thoroughly, eaten out professionally, and screwed so deep she couldn’t walk until playoff season. All that would happen; he just hadn’t reckoned on how his own limits would be tested.

What begins as snarky barbs and insults, turns into an unlikely friendship that soon turns into something so much more.

Can I just tell you how much I loved the Cajun stud that is Remy? Because this man!!! This. Man. He brought all of the swoons. All of them. I loved him beyond words. He was pure perfection. And Harper was such an amazing heroine. The more layers you peel away from her, the more you understand why she is the way she is and just grow to like her even more. Both characters were so multi-layered and full of depth, I couldn’t get enough of them.

In the midst of the budding romance, there’s a slew of secondary characters introduced that I can’t wait to find out more about; especially Harper’s two sisters.

Irresistible You was everything I’ve come to expect from this author and more! It was a page turner from beginning to end, full of laugh out loud moments and enough steam to set your e-readers on fire!

Irresistible You was a book which was put on my radar by my good friend Nick. Nick is the best when it comes to book recommendations, she’s never led me astray in the past and when I found out Irresistible You featured a sports romance, I was completely sold.

I’m not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to ice hockey, I don’t follow the NHL or even know the rules, but the good thing about Irresistible You is that you don’t really need to be a die-hard fan, I enjoyed getting to know the players and when they were getting ready for their games. But alongside the ice hockey aspect Meader did a really great job in reeling me in with the hot romance! Remy is the Rebel’s new signing, he’s a legendary player and despite not being happy about this year’s team switch, he knows he’s stuck there. Until him and the Rebel’s owner Harper come up with a deal, Remy will play his best and help the team anyway he can until January when Remy will be traded to a team with a chance of actually winning the Stanley Cup. It’ll probably be Remy’s last year as a pro, so of course he wants to go out with a bang and finally get his hands on the cup that he’s never had. But both Harper and Remy end up with something even better than both could have imagined – each other. What starts off as a simple one night leads to off the charts chemistry! Both know that this thing between them could lead to so many problems; for the team and for their careers, but both Harper and Remy just can’t get enough!

Like I mentioned before Meader excelled in giving us one hell of a romance between Remy and Harper. I enjoyed the entire build up to their relationship, but what I enjoyed most of all was the time they spent together. Yes, often the not they had to sneak around, but when they were finally together it was clear as day, that what they had was something strong. Remy was just so damn hard to resist, I don’t know how Harper had the strength to stay away, he had an awesome physique, a to die for accent especially when he spoke French, he was one of the best hockey players, he was an excellent cook too, but also one of the sweetest guys. When he first began to realise the true extent of his feelings for Harper, I really was just melting inside, he would go to any lengths to do what was best for Harper. That it just made me mad at times when Harper refused to tell everyone that they were together. I could understand her reasons for it, and her reluctance, but she had this irresistible guy in Remy who would do anything for her and they were just perfect for one another!

Irresistible You was a perfect start to a fresh new series for me, I for one can’t wait to get Violet and Isobel’s (Harper’s sisters) stories and spend more time with the Rebel’s hockey team once again!

The set up to this book is pretty textbook sibling rivalry. Dad leaves the team to the three sisters instead of just Harper who is the one most likely to succeed with the team. Stir the pot by making the sisters be estranged. Add the big bad player, who is a jinx, to the soup and thicken.. Harper is strong willed and destined to succeed, but she still has her demons from the past. A past relationship with a hockey player that went wrong. But when Remy joins the picture the chemistry sizzles off the pages. A hard bodied player, Cajun, his family back home, his need to overcome his "jinx" reputation all these add up to a pretty great read.
