Savich and Sherlock are both FBI agents. This story is about an escaped convict, a new baby and revenge. The author ties all these stories together in one book that is hard to put down. With 26 books in the series, you will be able to satisfy your craving for the thrills of the FBI and how they partner with other agencies to bring down the bad guys while saving the good guys. It starts with a "mad" man breaking into the home of a pregnant woman and Savich saving the day. Immediately after this, the woman goes into labor. Then the new-born is kidnapped and taken to a scientist that wants to find the "fountain of youth". The book has lots of characters so pay attention to who is talking so you don't get lost. Reading until the wee hours of the night was the ticket for this book.

I was really confused in this book. There were too many subplots in one book. I understand it connects in the end, but it was just confusing to read. I had to stopped so many times to get my bearing about this book. Wasn't a fun read in my opinion. But if you enjoy trippy thriller stories with multiple subplots, then give this book a chance.

This was just not my cup of tea. I have read so many books by this author that it actually was a let down that i just could not get into out. There's something missing compared to her other works. It felt jumbled, contrived and I found myself flipping through it because it just didn't hold my interest.

Look, I've read a lot of books by this author so it was actually a let down when I didn't get hooked on this one. There's something missing compared to her older works.
Sorry, not my cup of tea.

I'm not a fan of murder mysteries or suspense thrillers. Somehow there was enough in the blurb that I was drawn into this book twice. I've read about half the book and realized I knew what was happening next because I had read it before. So I looked for my review of it and somehow it isn't anywhere. There is already too much stress in my life to read this all the way again. I read the ending and know I got there the last time.

So rather than read it again, here is the review based on one and a half reads.

It is a page-turner that keeps you reading (even the second time!). Many characters points of view add to the plot so that you care what happens. If you like thrillers with a sci-fi twist this is for you. If you like cop stories or FBI stories, this is for you. It was for me at a different time of my life.

I am reading everything I can find by this author now. The book was well paced and I enjoyed the protagonist very much. Will be looking forward to more in this series.

Good story that blended science, a kidnapped baby, assorted wanton killers, and the FBI. This happens to be the twenty-first book in the series so as I have not read any of the others, I felt like I was missing something.

It was certainly a quick read and had all the components of a thriller but it also had some cons.

All in all it was not a bad book but I did feel the end wasy very rushed. However, I do think this book would transition well to a TV series or even a movie. It felt like a script.

Enigma, featuring series regulars Savich and Sherlock, has it all; a man in a coma with needed information, a kidnapping of a baby with special properties in its blood, a violent escapee, and several murders. Colter manages to integrate all this into a fast paced, well written story that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Another great story from the FBI pair of Dillon and Savich. The characters never fail and the storyline moves along quickly. Will always look forward to read the next story.

Enigma: book 21 is just as fresh as the first. Coulter shines in the mystery department although there’s little romance here. Masterful storytelling skills shine.

Man, Catherine Coulter comes up with some great plots. What a brilliant mind she must have! The three stories featured rotated from one to the other till they all came together and made perfect sense! I'm pretty sure I have all 21 books in this series and have loved every single one!

Several clever interlocking plots, including genetic engineering, Russian oligarchs and tension with local PD. These are great characters, and some great chase scenes, but too much is telegraphed. And there were too many epilogs to close out all the various threads. A decent read, but a little more mystery would have added to the enjoyment.

I know this is part of a series, but it there is enough detail to read on it's own. T he plot has been done before in other books and movies. However the story is interesting as presented. I did read all the way through to find out how everything ended up. The good guys were really good and handsome/beautiful, and smart. They always did the right thing while dealing with annoying bureaucrats and jealous rivals. It was nice to see FBI agents portrayed as they should be instead of the venal, political ones we see in the new today. All in all a pleasant quick read.

Story about the delay in sending this review. I wasn’t aware that I haven’t. I do love reading Catherine’s books. This one was not a disappointed at all. I totally love the FBI series. I’ve been reading them for a few years now. I like the with she reintroduced the character Cam. I’m really excited to read the next one in the series.

I received an electronic copy of this book from the publisher through Net Galley for an unbiased review.

This is my first Catherine Coulter book and overall I did enjoy it. It started out with a bang and kept on running. It was a page turner in that respect, but I felt the storylines were choppy and never really meshed until the very last page where the author summed it up in a rush. I prefer to have my multiple storylines tied together a little more through the plot rather than through a rushed explanations the very end.

I didn’t realize that this was the 21st book in a series and maybe having read some of the earlier books would’ve helped me understand the connection with Sherlock and Savich. I felt the relationship with the new FBI agents was rushed and contrived.

Also, after much name-dropping, it felt like it was an advertisement for various gun brands. I have no problem with guns, but when a character says, “Drop your Glock.” it just sounds contrived. It’s “Drop your gun.” Or “Drop your weapon.” I was thinking, OK I’ll drop my Glock but that doesn’t mean I’ll drop my other weapon. It reminded me of TV shows that have product placement for advertising . Like when “Bones” gave all the features of their new Prius as part of the story. Just a small thing but I found it distracting.

For a quick beach read, this book fit the bill.

I've been a fan of Catherine Coulter for decades. Enigma is everything you can expect in a crime thriller, and you won't be able to put it down until you're done with it.

Another terrific book in the FBI series! Savich had gotten a phone call from his friend, Dr. Janice Hudson who has seen a strange man enter her neighbor’s house with a gun. Kara Moody is pregnant and could have her baby any time now. Savich goes over and Dr. Hudson shows him where a secret entrance is and he enters the house to try to stop anything from happening to Kara. He was able to subdue the man and keep Kara safe; but the man was rendered unconscious. Kara was safe but in labor and soon had her baby boy, who is subsequently kidnapped. Does the unconscious stranger have to do with anything? The story has many great twists and turns and this is what makes this series outstanding.

I received a copy from Netgalley to review.

This was not one of the best in the series. Still a good read.

Agents Savich and Sherlock are back again. Kara Moody is a single mom due any day that finds herself held hostage by a seemingly insane or unstable man. Savich saves the day and gets her to the hospital just in time for the delivery. Then the unthinkable happens and Kara's baby is abducted. Meanwhile, a convicted killer escapes on the way to prison. How do these story lines cross? You'll have to read it to find out.

I love these FBI Thrillers by Coulter and this one did NOT disappoint. Coulter does a fabulous job of giving you bits and pieces of info to keep you guessing and the pages flipping. I couldn't put it down. I had to find out what happened to Enigma 2. Who was he? What was he being used for? Then there is the whole mystery of Kara and her baby. Just fabulous writing. If you are a mystery/thriller fan, pick these books up. This was one of my favorites. Four out of five stars for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
