I absolutely love this book! I am definitely going to purchase the hard cover copy for my son to have this year for the Christmas season! I really like how it gives children a visual of all the things Santa has to do to prepare for Christmas Eve and I love that it emphasizes that Santa and the elves read every letter kids send him.

I think this book could really come to be considered a classic. Its so cute and the story is perfect for young Santa Claus believers. I can see children saying things like "It's December 10th so Santa and the elves are testing the huggability of the stuffed animals".

In a day and age where it seems children are growing up so fast and losing their imagination earlier and earlier, I think they need more books like these to nourish those fading imaginations.

I highly recommend this book to parents during the holiday season and as I said I will be introducing it to my son on the first of December.

Santa’s Countdown to Christmas is the PERFECT book to read with your kids, while they anxiously await Christmas Day to get here. The illustrations are so great, and the story is too! This is definitely going to be a Christmas book staple in our house- and knowing my kids, it’ll be a year round staple!

Yay Holiday Books! This is a great idea for a holiday book. It takes the advent calendar we all love so much and is a book version. Each day/night you have a bit more to read about how Santa prepares for his journey around the world.

What I liked about this book was the advent calendar feel - I didn't read it like that but thought it was a really good idea for parents and kids reading together each night. However, some of the days were very short excerpts which was a little sad.

The sections have illustrations as well, of what Santa and his elves are up to and overall I thought this was a very creative book for the holiday season.

Absolutely adorable Christmas book! I really enjoyed the pictures. My semi-complaint is I wish that the print was bigger.

This is the kind of book that I wish was available a few years ago when my son was little as I am sure he would have loved this holiday book. This would make the perfection addition to a child's holiday reading or story time

This was a really cute Christmas-y story and I loved the "advent calendar" setup. It would be perfect for actually reading one "day" of the story per evening with your kid, to get them hyped up for Christmas and Santa Claus!

In preparing for Christmas, Santa and his elves have a lot of things to do before the big day! More and more kids are born, which means more and more presents need to be organized and delivered. Can they do it?

This picture book is a very simple one to follow and read, which could be appealing to some children. For the youngsters it could be a nice tradition to read one chapter at a time during the month of December leading up to Christmas. However, I felt there really wasn't much new or exciting material presented here. One aspect I did like and could have been expanded more was Santa's strength test; it made me smile and chuckle since Santa doesn't seem to the most physically-fit person. I also thought the focus on one particular lonely child was good, but wanted more to come from the storyline.

When thinking about the characters here, they are pretty stiff. Even when they were conversing with each other, I didn't get the warm Christmas feeling that I tend to get with thinking about Christmas-related books.

Aside from the plot flow and lack of character development, there were issues of enlarged print and dialogue between two people running into one paragraph, Perhaps it was my copy and when buying a physical copy, these issues wouldn't occur, but it did deter from my enjoyment of the overall piece.

In general, I wasn't a big fan of the setup of this book, but can see toddlers and preschoolers enjoy being read to and finding enjoyment here.

Santa's Countdown to Christmas 24 Days of Stories A Storytelling Twist on the Timeless Advent Tradition by Kim Thompson Illustrated by Elodie Duhameau is a charming, beautiful book for children with 24 little tales starting on Dec first, for discovering what happens to the North Pole during the days of the so-called human Advent, our Christian Season of preparation to the arrival of little Jesus Christ. In particular taken in consideration the days from Dec 1st to the 24th.

Also the North Pole during this season, it's in ferment because this one the busiest moment of the year. Everyone from Santa to his elves to the rest of Santa's "staff" work for the creation of another beautiful Christmas for all the children of this world.

You will discover Santa busy while receiving and reading e-mails and letters with gifts-requests and falling in love for kids' drawing (PS: don't forget to send to Santa beautiful drawings, he seems to appreciate them so badly!), how presents and gifts are created with great cure.
You will understand Santa can't resist at some sweet chocolate cookies, but also that for Dec 24th everything must be ready for the most amazing trip of all the time and... space, because Santa in one night will bring to all the good children of the world some gifts.
It's a magical gift this one.

A so tender, beautiful book, it will warm your children's heart and these cold winter-days of waiting 'till at the arrival of HO HO HO Santa Claus! on Christmas' Eve.

Highly suggested to all the children of this world!

I thank NetGalley for this eBook!

I love advent calendars for Christmas and I love books even more. Since the moment I had kids, I made a point to make books a huge part of their lives. We like to do themed books for the different holidays throughout the year and I loved that this book is basically a Christmas advent calendar in story form! It's nice to have different stories for every day leading up to Christmas and my kids definitely enjoyed the different ways Santa and his elves get ready for Christmas. There are some really cute scenarios and situations that they find themselves in and it made for great family time reading. The illustrations were also really nice.

I love the stories and illustrations, and I think kids would too. The illustrations actually made me giggle a little, and the stories are short enough that reading one each day shouldn't take very long but is sure to bring smiles!

This is so much better than an Advent calendar. The children will be wanting to hear a new story every night before Christmas. What a great idea! Love it!

Santa’s Countdown to Christmas is like an advent calendar of stories for children. Each day you see Santa deal with something new….. Will his suit fit him this year? Will they have enough toys?
What I loved is that each day although a story in its own right flowed quite nicely into the next day and each story has a charming illustration to accompany it. I think my favourite character has to be Tec the Elf who comes up with one madcap invention after another in an attempt to modernise Santa and his operation.. not always very successfully.
The stories will make you smile but you may just have a problem getting your child to wait until the next day to find out what happens. You may not be able to persuade them to have this instead of the chocolate advent calendar we all love but it would be a welcome addition to it.

A lovely short story to share during December as a countdown to Christmas Day. Follow Santas journey into getting reading to deliver all the presents.

This is a terrific book for parents and kids to read every night during the month of December. Each day there is a little story about the goings-on at the North Pole as Christmas draws near. Some days Santa is making cookies, some days making toys. He is also checking out those naughty and nice lists, but no fear. There are so many good boys and girls this year! This is the kind of book that will come out year after year on the first of December.

I obtained this book from Net Galley and have left an honest review.
