Thankyou to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, Killer Reads and the author E V Seymour for the opportunity to read and review a copy of Final Target.
I found the book to be a good read. The storyline moved along at a good pace with a few twists thrown in for good measure.
Josh Thane could quite possibly be the next Jack Reacher.

"Final Target" eBook was published in 2017 and was written by E. V. Seymour (http://www.evseymour.co.uk). Mr. Seymour has published 11 novels. This is the second of his "Josh Thane Thrillers".

I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence, Mature Language, and Mature Situations. The primary character of the story is former Assassin for hire Josh Thane.

Thane has 'retired' from his role as an assassin and the violent world he was part of. He is surprised when a person from his past, MI5 agent Inger McCallen, shows up. Thane has a romantic interest in McCallen but has never wanted to complicate his life further. Now McCallen is recruiting him to investigate a threat against her life.

As Thane pursues the investigation, he finds himself the target of more than one attack. Then McCallen disappears and MI5 seems to think Thane is involved. Thane must avoid MI5 while he desperately tries to find McCallen. Crime figures that he formerly worked for begin to die, and that is another complication with connections back to him.

I enjoyed the 7.5 hours I spent reading this 272 page mystery and thriller. I liked the character of Thane who is definitely a guy with a sketchy background, but who is trying to live a normal life. The cover art is OK. I give this novel a 4 out of 5.

I was expecting this to be more of a suspense rather than like Jack Reacher. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Final target by e v seymour.
Ex-assassin Josh Thane has given up his life of murder and bloodshed and gone to ground in London. But when glamorous MI5 agent, McCallan, needs his help with a dangerous operation in Berlin, Josh can’t resist being pulled back into the game.
A very enjoyable read. I liked the story too. 4*.

The second story in the Josh Thane Thriller series is darker, character-driven and enthralling.

The ex-hitman is trying to make a life that doesn't involve killing for a living and seems to be succeeding on the surface at least until his Achilles heel- McCallen, asks for his help and starts him on the most challenging journey of his life.

More of an introspective story than the first book in the series 'A Deadly Trade', which has apocalyptic themes. The violence is graphic, as is the sexual content but only to set the scene and move the story forward, none of it is gratuitous.

Someone is out for revenge, but the question is who? The plot is much tighter than the first novel in the series and the number of possible antagonists greater. It was harder to work out the real villain of the story amongst so many. There is the same easy to read, fast-paced style but with more twists and turns and it's personal which gives a greater insight into our anti-hero Josh.

I love Jack Higgins books, especially the early Sean Dillion books and this is reminiscent of these in style and the complexity of the main characters. I hope there is a third book as I'm hooked on Josh know and want to know what happens next.

I received a copy of this book from Harper UK Harper Fiction - Killer Reads via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

E. V. Seymour's latest novel is a rollercoaster of a read that quickly moves through its paces to a very good and exciting conclusion. This is the sequel to A Deadly Trade, although it is not necessary to have read the earlier novel to enjoy this one. Josh Thane, a former assassin trying to go straight, is an interesting character and Seymour does a good job in rallying the reader's support for him and his predicament. The plot about a threat to his friend and former handler, glamorous MI 5 agent Inger McCallen,, is a good one and will keep most readers happily engaged to the end. With the holiday season coming up (in Australia at least), this is good one for the beach or the pool this summer.

Ex-assassin Josh Thane goes to Berlin to help MI5 agent Mc Callan. Josh tries to work out why people are being killed and who he can trust. An easy fast paced read with a few twists in the plot.
