Like many of the Catholic orders that are very old, the Franciscans have many saints. While many are well known, others are virtually unknown outside the order. This book of short biographies of 100 Franciscans, virtually all of them canonized or somewhere on the road to canonization, will give you such wonderful insight into the members of St. Francis' family.
You'll encounter martyrs and mystics, nuns, priests and laypeople, missionaries and poets. It's a lovely and enlightening selection.
