This is the fourth book in author Cheyenne McCray’s “Lawmen” series. I enjoyed this book; I felt this was a great storyline for character Brooks Allen. I have to admit that I have read these books out of order but didn’t find it hard to follow so this could be read as a standalone. Even though the heroine wasn’t as sassy as I like them to be, I still enjoyed Natasha and her free spirited ways, I also found her to be smart, fiercely protective of her loved ones, and strong willed. She’s a great match to our hero Brooks. But you’ll have to read for yourself to see what I mean. If you like fast paced action drama/romance this is a book for you.

***I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for an honest review via NetGalley, this is my honest opinion and has not been influenced by the author, Publishers or NetGalley in anyway.*** Thank you!

I'm a child of the 80s and big action movies and drug cartels, so anytime a romantic suspense centers around cocaine trafficking south of the border, I reach for it. The premise was promising, but Natasha Simpson was just a little too lacking in street smarts and self-preservation.

Brooks is incensed at the thought of Natasha, cousin of his best friend, as a drug trafficker. He will ensure that if she is guilty, she will go down in flames.

Natasha loves her little art shop/gallery. She still can't understand why the fugly statues she was given on consignment to sell are flying off the shelf. She can't abide the things. Little does she know that she is being used by a drugs kingpin to shuttle drugs via the various trade shows she attends. But when Brooks appears in her life she's not so sure that he actually wants to help her or tar her!

Brooks and Natasha had a tentative meeting before the case and I enjoyed how this story built on that connection. Brooks was kinda quick to judge at Natasha hippy dippyness but when he realises she is an unwilling mule, he will pull out all the stops to save her! Really enjoyed this series so far and I'm hoping for more!

I loved this book. The characters were amazing and vibrant. The action was great. It contains angst and love, strength and laughter.

This is Brooks and Natasha's book. Brooks is handed an undercover case and it in involves none other than his best friend's cousin, Natasha. She is suspected of trafficking drugs through her shop and trade shows.

Natasha loves her life, her family, her friends, and her little shop. She is packing for a trade show in Denver and gets a call from her supplier that he's doubling her order of these statuettes that she hates but promises she will sale. And she does every time. What she doesn't know won't hurt her right?

They've met before but only one time yet Brooks already feels this pull to Natasha. He will do everything in his power to make sure these accusations are true before they arrest her and if they aren't, he will help her out of this jam.

The question is, will her have to arrest someone who means so much to him?

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A fast paced suspense that will draw you in to the end! A unknowing pawn in drug trafficking or a willing participant? Special Agent Allen must answer that question. The plot is full of twists, believable characters and love at first sight. An amazing ride from start to finish.
Book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

I received an ARC and enjoyed this story line immensely. The connection between Brooks and Natasha draws you in right away. Even though darkness and blackmail is involved I love how Brooks is bound and determined to help even though the threat of danger was right around the corner. He believed in her and loved her and you could feel that in reading. When Brooks confesses "I adore you".... yeah that was a special moment where I wanted to trade places with Natasha. (Maybe not the unknown illegal activity part but the romantic part because who doesn't want to be adored) loved it and would give it 5 stars!

This was another good book in the series. I liked Natasha when she was first introduced so I'm glad the author chose to write a story around her. She was pretty funny to Brooks serious nature. I felt they both balanced each other out. It also had a great ending with a what would you do moment if pushed to the breaking point. I really enjoyed reading this book.Good story & loved the romance. I would recommend this book.

Came across Cheyenne McCray a while back and loved her Riding Tall Series and has been a while since I caught up on her other works. Her stories of alpha men and their protectiveness, their women and their happiness, are always emotional reads as they explore the turbulent path to love and a future.

Book four of the Deadly Intent Series, “Point Blank” takes you into the world of narcotics and how innocent can be lured and blackmailed into a life of danger and evil. Quirky and accident prone Natasha Simpson loves her life, her antique store and the little town of Bisbee, AZ Little does she know that her store is being used as a narcotic trade store.

Special Agent Brooks Allen is super protective of his family and friends and getting the intel that Natasha might be involved in a drug trade brings him to Bisbee, to get to the bottom of the truth and also go by his gut that Natasha is innocent and protect her from being killed.

Sparks flare between the agent and the lady, attraction leads to romance and love seals their future as they try to stay ahead of the present and clear danger. Point Blank is an interesting story, with enough charm; chemistry and wit to keep the readers captivated and enjoy the romance.

Brooks could not believe one of his closest friends could be accused of trafficking drugs. He was filled with disbelief and shock. He knew Natasha and was hesitant of taking the case he had been assigned since it would tear him apart if she was guilty of what she had been accused of. Natasha sells her wares at different craft shows around the country. She is unknowing victim in someone's quest to peddle their drugs. When she finds out the truth she is paralyzed with fear and is desperate to maintain safety of her loved ones and Brooks will protect her at all costs.

It was hard for me to put this one down because I liked the characters so much. Natasha was such a quirky fun individual, and Brooks was very sexy in a western sort of way. They certainly made an odd pair, but it was easy to see the sparks that flew between them from the start. Brooks is unfortunately investigating Natasha, so while she honestly likes him, he had a hidden agenda. He knows he should tell her once he develops feelings for her, but will he do so in time?

I was familiar with Cheyenne McCray, so I was sure I would like this book before I ever started reading. I wasn't wrong. The pacing was fast, and the suspense of watching Natasha try to work her way out of an impossible situation drug me in. I find myself needing to find the other books in this series and start reading.

In classic McCray fashion, “Point Blank” is an intense, emotional, fast paced drama and romance. The plot and storyline are riveting and grab the reader from the first page with twists and turns you won’t see coming. The characters are multidimensional, strong, fascinating and endearing with wonderful chemistry between Brooks and Natasha.

I can’t wait to read more in the series and highly recommend this book!

Brooks is brought in for a drug case because the chief suspect is a friend of a close friend. Implausible, but it sets up the book nicely.

Natasha is the artist taking her art around the country, She is forced to take some cheap art with her that always sells out, and (no big surprise) is actually used to smuggle cocaine.

Very enjoyable. No big surprises found within the story but there are never any boring places either.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Natasha believes the good in people.
She does not want to live her life distrusting everybody.
Soon enough, that belief will be tested.
Natasha doesn't know, but her distributor, Mark, has been using her art pieces to transport drugs.
Brooks Allen was assigned to Natasha's case.
His job is to determined how guilty is Natasha.
When they meet, he is memorized by her.
For sure, she cannot be involved w/ the cartel.
When Natasha is exposed, Brooks + Natasha will have to work together to keep Natasha + her family safe.
A lot of suspense in this books.
Natasha was warned not to go to any type of lawn enforcement agencies.
If she talked, everyone she knows will be killed one by one.
For Natasha, Brooks was her safe haven.
Their romance was so sweet.
Love the ending! Brook is so romantic!

This book was previously published in 2015 by another publisher but I received the copy that will be released in August 2017.

I overall enjoyed reading this book. I liked the action, the suspense and the characters.

Although I really liked the storyline one of the main reasons it’s not a five-stars for me is the insta-love. It happens quite often when reading a contemporary romance and I still find it quite not believable but keep reading these books *arrgh*.

Anyway, the story was great although a bit predictable but I really appreciated that there were different POVs making it more complete.

I though Natasha (the female lead) was a bit clueless and there were some moments where she drove me nuts because she just wouldn’t rely on her friends while at the beginning she was so careless with whom she decided to trust. I can’t really complain about any other character because I thought they were quite good.

During the story there were some big jumps in time not really explained which made it a bit confusing and somewhat difficult to follow at times. I didn’t mind the writing although it was a bit messy in some parts and I had to go back and reread the scene; there were also some misspellings but nothing making it hard to follow.

This book is the fourth in a series but I read it as a standalone not having read the previous ones and still managed to follow the storyline without any trouble.

The story was okay. I was disappointed because I usually like her books. I gave it a 3 because you can’t give half stars and besides it wasn’t horrible. I didn’t much care for Natasha. I felt that she was pretty clueless. She gets scammed into being a drug mule by selling statuettes, that she thought were ugly to begin with, that are all bought all at once by one person EVERY single trade show. This also includes numbered and framed prints. She never seems to question it. She also goes to a party and manages to get drugged while there.

Also, what doesn’t seem to be addressed is that the leader of the cartel knows who she is and tried to kill her cousin as a lesson. Even though Okle has been killed, he is still around so really Natasha and her family still wouldn’t be safe. He gave a list of who they were and where they could be found to his henchman that tried to run the cousin down.

I enjoy a good romantic suspense which this book fit the bill. This is not the first book in the series, but is a stand alone. I like books that intermingle characters and you wonder who the next one is going to be about. Brooks is a DHS/ICE agent that is sent under cover to investigate his friend's family member Natasha for suspected drug smuggling. Add in the fact that Brooks already has interest in her, and that makes for a good antagonism. He wants to do his job, but he wants his boss to be wrong. Natasha is the epitome of a free spirit, and sees the good in everyone. Possibly it's a good thing that Brooks is around her from time to time. As I hate giving spoilers, I will say that Brooks is correct, and Natasha isn't willingly involved in a drug trade. There were a few other twists that I never saw coming, but liked the result. I will gladly be looking for more of this series

Overall a solid read. Loved Brooks, Natasha was ok. Great storyline, I can totally see this happening

Great story. Lots of action in and out of the bedroom. Natasha is accused of helping the drug lord sell his drugs and giving them to the local supplier. Undercover agent Brooks has been assigned to follow her / observe her giving the drugs to the local supplier. She has not idea what is going on. Brooks and Natasha soon realize that they meant to be together. She though is afraid to speak about what is happening / what she is forced to do to keep her family safe. Brooks will stop at nothing to keep her and her family safe.
