I did exactly what the synopsis told me not to do, I made assumptions. It was easy to assume because the story led you to do just that. But, oh my goodness, what a thrilling story! There were many twists and turns, and just when I thought, maybe, just maybe, I had it figured out, another twist! The suspense builds, then a twist in the story comes, always not what I expected, but believable and it fit. Certainly one of the best psychological thrillers I have read this year! Superb!

So in the first half I kept thinking "yawn, been there read this in some form or another"...
And BAMMO realized wait a minute there is something different being done here.

I wish the first half had not been so formulaic as it definitely made me ponder why I was reading it. A few changes to the first half and a definite 5 star what the heck psychological thriller.

The last say fifth felt rushed and disjointed which again made me ponder why reading.

I would give it 3.5 stars but whole numbers are the only option.

You have to pay attention because you can get lost, and let me tell you it is a ride.. These people are crazy, we have a controlling and really dont want to focus to much on her role as sister Maureen...Vanessa, Nellie, Emma, all crazy and convulted... Then their is Richard, yeah.. I can not tell you the story, but this one will be talked about for a while so make sure you do not miss out.

Brilliant! This complex psychological drama is thrilling. No matter what you think you have figured out about this plot or any of the intertwined characters, you will, without a doubt, have missed something. Or many, many things. And when you discover a new twist, your will realize that it perfectly fits into everything else you have read. I'll say it again, brilliant!

This book had my mind spinning, churning, and re-reading to make sure I didn't miss anything. Vanessa can't find peace within herself after her divorce and drinks more than she should. When she finds out her ex-husband Richard is remarrying, she has to figure out a way to stop it. As the books says, PRESUME NOTHING! This is a great psychological book and a definite must read!

This reminded me of "Girl on the Train" meets "The Perfect Couple". I think the story line was interesting and I enjoyed the plot twist at Part II. I actually was so surprised I had to go back and read the last few pages of Part I to make sure I knew what was going on. I felt like the twist at the end was forced. I'm not sure it was completely relevant nor do I think it added much to the story.

After reading about a third of the book, I was finding it boring -- way too slow -- so I read the ending and realized that there was some kind of twist going on with the people. I kept reading from where I had left off and got to the answer. Really? It seemed that it was just a trick played on the reader for the trick's sake. I won't finish it and won't recommend it.

Vanessa struggles to move on after her divorce from a self-made, influential businessman. She recalls him controlling her every move. He recounts her episodes of irrational behavior that led to his decision to divorce her. The journey to the truth bends back upon itself time and again as Vanessa reaches out to her replacement to warn her.

The cliffhangers skillfully expose each character. The writing is so tight that there's no unraveling the narrative to reveal these secrets too soon. I love the unconventional ending that brings everyone back down to earth.

Readers who love unreliable narrators, complicated romance, and impossible situations will enjoy this story.

This book is the joy of ARCs!

What drew me in, was the excerpt of the book. It mentioned time and time again, to assume nothing, which intrigued me. The one assumption, that I was able to gather from the excerpt centered around marriage. The authors did an amazing job of blending their point of views into one story, where it's as if the story is told by one voice.

There are three parts to this story, and each part is like a roller coaster ride, where you ascend and when you think, you've reached the top and are about to descend to some conclusion; the next part of the story has you ascending again! Including the final conclusion, that had me rethinking about everything from the beginning.

This was a phenomenal read! Those who enjoyed Girl On A Train, or Behind Closed Doors; I, highly, recommend The Wife Between Us. This is the type of book that will stay with you long after you have finished it.

The Wife Between Us is written by two authors, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. Difficult to say much about this story as I do not want to give any of the plot away. Lots of twists and turns make The Wife Between Us a very satisfying read. I'm looking forward to reading more by these two. I was given an early copy to review.

Psychological suspense, with a mind f... excellent read.

Wow! Just Wow! I had been in a little bit of a reading slump lately, I just couldn't get into any of the books I'd been reading lately (not the books' fault). It has been taking me weeks to finish a book until I picked this one up...I had a really hard time putting this book down to get anything done, I literally fell asleep with the book in my hand every night, reading until I couldn't hold my eyes open anymore! The characters are deep and flawed and are revealed slowly throughout the book but the minute you think you know what is going on there is a twist and you're back to trying to figure out who the "bad guy" really is. I recommend this book to anyone who likes psychological thrillers! Thank you Netgalley for the awesome opportunity to read this book!

Now this was a book that lived up to the hype of suspense and psychological thriller. An exciting, fast paced novel that has very clever plot twists and intrigue that not much can be said about without spoiling the plot line. This is one of those newest genres of books out lately that promise psychological mystery but either are too far fetched or are too far off in the psychotic end of mental illness for it to be a satisfying read. This is the best one I have read lately. I can honestly say it is not at all how I thought the story would progress and wrap up to be. A great read!

One of the best books I've read this year!The Wife Between Us was on my TBR list from the first sentence. This books provides a roller coaster of an experience, and don't go with your first thoughts on what's coming next! This book had me on the edge of my seat until the last page!

This book had several twists and turns, and I enjoyed how the author kept us guessing about the wives and motivations. However, the story dragged in some places, and the last revelations seemed like a gaudy fireworks display with a big flash and fizzle.

There is so much I want to say about this book and I'm not sure where to start. I don't want to give anything away and it's so hard not too!

The Wife Between Us is unlike any book I've ever read before! I was first drawn in by the cover and when I read the description I was hooked. This book will make you realize that we all make assumptions about things but we shouldn't. Pretty much everything I assumed through the first half of this story was proven false in the second half.

I feel like I'm still reeling from this book several days after finishing it. This book WILL BE THE ONE everyone talks about in 2018!

Wowzers...that book left my head spinning. For the longest time I had no idea what was going on. I was tempted to just dnf it. I am not a patient reader, and I don't want to have to work hard to make all the pieces fit. But I hung in there, because of all the amazing reviews. By 60%, I was ready to just look for spoilers, but I persevered...and finished. And I am so glad I did. The story came together and it was quite a mind bender. Assume nothing. Not one thing is as it appears. Sit back, be patient...I promise you it will be worth it.

5* Sinuous Stars

This story had so many secrets my head was buzzing and even though the synopsis comes with the warning for you not to make assumptions I did indeed make many throughout the book. Not everything is, as it seems!

This story is about betrayal, manipulation, obsession, lies and secrets. It was very well written considering two authors wrote it.

This book is written in two voices, Vanessa in the present and Nellie in the past. All the characters in the book were very complex and realistic.

The plot was very clever and had you guessing until the last page was read; in fact the ending had me saying WTH!! I did not see that coming!

I think this book would make a fantastic movie.

Maureen, Richards sister. She thinks he can do no wrong and does not believe anyone is quite good enough for him. She is maybe the only person that can get through to him. What secrets does she know about Richard’s life as a young boy that made him who he is? Is she trustworthy her own self?

Kate, Richard’s first wife. Not a lot here except she gave up more than anyone to be free. To live her life in peace. To make a life.

This story is told from Vanessa’s point of view. It’s one that you won’t forget soon. It’s probably one of the very best books I have read in it’s genre in such a long time. From the very start I was pulled in to this story and couldn’t stop until I finally read the very last word. I hated so bad for it to end. It’s a great book with so many twists and turns. So many ups and downs. To me it was not a real sad book. Not in the sense that you will just cry reading it. It has some parts that made me very angry. I wanted to crawl into the story and hit someone, hard. Hurt them for the things they were doing to a good and decent person.

Abuse is never acceptable. Never. Not at any age. This story touches on that and on dominating and controlling. I went through abuse from a guy I dated at a young age, 17, and when I got out of it I swore I would never let anyone treat me that way again. I never did either.

This is truly a good book. One you will love from start to finish. The ending blew me away. I did not see it coming. I had many thoughts, many ideas of what I thought, but was pleasantly surprised by it. You will love this book. I promise.

I gave it a 5 star rating a it deserves way more...

Excellent tale of suspense full of twists I didn't see coming! Loved this book and the exciting pace. Tremendous!
