Whoa…I can’t even begin to explain the sheer number of emotions I experienced during the course of this book. I was invited to read this book by the publisher, and since reading I have been searching for a book, any book, within this genre that does a better job of throwing me on my head while causing me to feel so much emotion toward the characters, author, writing style, etc. Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen make one heck of a writing team!
Part one (of three) was so woven, you seemingly navigate between two women. Then, just before you enter part two you are SHATTERED. Throughout Part two you gain more history, flipping between the past and present day. While part three wraps it all up, albeit NOT NICELY as my emotions are still recovering.
I honestly started getting mad at this book because I thought “I’ve got this figured out I don’t want to even read on, this plot is so predictable,” only to literally get RIPPED apart. I definitely did NOT guess correctly. Even the epilogue left me gasping (and I must reiterate, DO NOT SKIP THE EPILOGUE OMG, did not see that coming!!!). Despite “thinking” I knew what was coming, I was SO WRONG.
This book was such an engrossing read, I know it is cliché but I could not put it down and finished it in record time. One will not be disappointed they picked this book up if they like suspenseful, husband & wife/cat & mouse type books.
*Disclaimer: This book was provided to me by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

It is very rare for me to give a book a 5 star rating. But I'm here to tell you that I am giving it to this one!
The blurb above says it all. Assume nothing. So there is really very little I want to say in this review that would spoil one second of you reading this and being as shocked out of your mind as I was. There is no figuring this one out on page one. I was figuring this one out until the last page.
If Suspense Thrillers/Psychological Thrillers are your genre, you are in for a massive treat with this one. I read it all at once. I just couldn't stop. I certainly hope there will be more from the authors!

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. Wow!!! This book is so great!! So suspenseful and unexpected. Could not put it down!!!

No spoilers here, this book should be enjoyed without much knowledge of what to expect. Exceptional writing from these two authors propels the drama in this book, "The Wife Between Us". I highly recommend it to anyone who likes clever and twisty story lines. Be prepared to learn that what you think you know about Nellie and Vanessa and Richard, the main characters, may not be even minutely close to the truth about them. I loved the build up in the suspense--the authors painstakingly create an original and satisfyingly meaty meal of a book. So many details the writers give you that you don't know what to do with them.. at the same time you can feel the wheels turning in your brain--trying to figure--what the hell is going on here.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I've been fortunate this year, trying new authors and being so pleasantly surprised by some excellent books. When I am reading fiction, if I don't care what happens next and I am unwilling to give up some sleep to find out, well I personally have a problem with the story. Absolutely not the case with this book, I went to bed late and got up early to read as much as I could.
I really thought I had a clear understanding of the main characters and where the story was headed, until the first of many twists and turns. From that point forward, I think every one of my assumptions was wrong and even though I can't help trying to guess what is coming, mostly I laughed at myself when I was incorrect, again and again, and just enjoyed the ride. Many, many layers from the past and present are revealed and each one was so well done that when I reached the last page, I was blown away by the author's story telling abilities.
No spoilers here as the discoveries are integral to the enjoyment of the book. Marriage, friendship, betrayal, jealousy, family ties, loss of self, abuse and the truth versus lies are all explored and come together in unexpected ways. I was reminded of seeing someone in a fun house mirror and thinking I had identified the ‘real person' only to realize it was just another mirror illusion. Just an entertaining story that is easy to recommend.
Thanks to Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen, St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This is one of those books that I think people will be talking about.

This is a sit down and read it book. At times it was uncomfortable and I had to put it aside, but then I felt compelled to pick it up again and find out what the next twist would be, the next surprise, the next jog in the bend of the plot.

From the first page, you are drawn in to the complex lives of these characters. The soon- to- be ex wife - her replacement, and the ostensibly perfect husband. Vanessa is extricating herself from her wealthy and generous husband. She has a past - but his is more complicated. And then there's the upcoming wife. You will not be able to put this one down. One of the best books I have read all year.

I enjoyed this book. Although, it was confusing. I switched back and forth betwwen Vanessa and Emma. Vanessa is married to Richard who is very controlling. Vanessa can't just leave Richard because he would find and punish her. She must cook up a scheme to make him want her out of his life. Richard begins an affair with his secretary, Emma. But, then Vanessa has a bit of conscience and tries to make Emma understand what kind of man Richard is. It all backfires and in the end it is all explained why. And the biggest surprise is in the prologue. But don't read it first, as I did. It will not be clear.

The Wife Between Us is my first book from this author- but I can't wait to read more! This story was so twisted and I couldn't put it down!
Every time I got a notion in my mind as to what was going on a simple sentence would turn things on me and I would have to question what I knew about the characters or what I had just read. The twists just keep on coming.
I can't wait until this book releases to share with our followers!

Vanessa, or Nessie as Richard her ex always called her, is out for vengeance. She is determined to stop Richard's upcoming marriage to Emma, her replacement. Under no circumstances is she going to let that ceremony take place!
A wild ride full of twists and turns, where no one is exactly who you thought and nothing is quite what it seems. You won't be able to put this one down till you know all the answers about the husband, the wife and the replacement wife. Suspense at it's best!

I literally was 50/50 with this book there was a lot of things I really enjoyed such as I was dying to know the whole time what was going on especially since just like the description says assume nothing! the intrigue I had for the way the author made one of the big twist known was perfect in fact I really liked this book a lot as I have said. However the big down fall for me was I think the book should have been shortened there was so many unnecessary parts to the book that by 60% through the book I felt like they all were just going in circles and was just getting frustrated by it. would I tell someone else to give it a shot yes defiantly they may like how the writing style is but for me not so much!

I have seen mysteries with twists and turns, but this book is more about the twists than the essential story. The author does a great job of engaging the reader during the early part of the book, until the twists begin to appear and appear and appear.
The main character (no names, can't ruin part of the twisted plot) suffers through a marriage to a controlling sociopath and the story revolves around the relationship and the ending of the marriage. It could have been a fine mystery with a single plot, but the effort put into the storyline twists, detracts from the book and overlays it with absurdity.
I was very disappointed.

I really liked this book. It was very interesting how it was written - the 3 parts as well as the POVs. I was continually questioning the characters and the events as to what was really going on. At the end of each part, it was like a bomb was dropped and I couldn't stop reading - I had to dig into the next section. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I almost felt let down at the end. There was a great buildup but not a great finale. However I thought it was still a good book and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys thrillers/psychological thrillers.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC.

I received an ARC from NetGalley to read and review. The below is my honest, unbiased opinion. Thank you, Greer Hendricks, Sarah Pekkanen, the publisher, and NetGalley, for allowing me to review.
THE WIFE BETWEEN US is a standalone psychological thriller with a mystery plot; it's told in dual point of view, between Vanessa and Nellie, with an unreliable narrator. Vanessa's marriage has only recently fallen apart, her husband now engaged to his assistant, "my replacement," and she can't seem to let go of the past. In several calculated, daring moves, Vanessa risks everything when she tries to break apart her husband and her replacement.
I cannot even begin to explain how much I loved this book. It is by far the best thriller I've read in 2017 (or ever), and without a doubt, I believe this will be the next thriller-turned-movie we see in Hollywood. The authors did a fantastic job executing the twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end. Their writing is smart, captivating, and alluring--three aspects every reader looks for in a good psychological thriller. The main character, Vanessa, displays shudderingly accurate depictions of a woman on the brink of disaster and sabotage.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good story!

The Wife Between Us
WOW. What a book. Absolutely gripping. I can see this one soaring to the top of the charts for sure. I was just before half way through it and I literally had to put my kindle down to stare out of window to digest and make sense of what I had just read. Highly recommended !

Piercing eyes locked in.........trying to make sense of what has just transpired.
Like the unsettled feeling of reclaiming your own wine glass in a sea of abandoned stemware left willy nilly on a crowded bar. A second's turn of your back and your identity is gone. Claimed by another or still existing in a look-alike world. Here and then gone........
Vanessa Thompson awakens in the tiny guestroom in her Aunt Charlotte's apartment. Her marriage is over and the aftermath is like shattered glass with the pieces of her remaining life never quite fitting together again. Examining the fragments will only initiate the bleeding once more. A promise of retrieving the hidden wine bottles in her closet at the end of the day gives her the impetus to dress for her retail job at Saks. She also walks a tightrope there with impending dismissal looming because of her constant days off.
Richard had all the fine cut and polish of the successful man on the cover of GQ. His position as a hedge fund manager brought them the finer things in life. What could possibly go wrong with perfection? Vanessa asks herself if her skittish behavior was due to the fertility medications she was taking after constant unsuccessful episodes. Was it the fear of retribution from a horrendous haunting situation that occured in her senior year of college? Or was it simply that wine glass that beckoned to be constantly refilled?
Startling news drifts in Vanessa's direction as the realization comes that Richard is to be remarried soon. One thing that Vanessa knows for sure is that that is not going to happen. Weak in mind, heart, and spirit, Vanessa is determined to get Richard's attention. One way or another.
Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen present a storyline carved out with mega twists and turns. The eyes tend to deceive in this one. I mean, really deceive. That lipstick smudge on that wine glass may not actually be yours. Then where is yours and where is theirs? Guess you're going to have to crack this one open to see for yourself. Told in three parts, you'll be flipping back pages to knock on reality's door. Did that just happen? Yep, yep it did.......
I received an advanced copy of The Wife Between Us through St. Martin's Press. My thanks to them and to Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen for the opportunity.

The Wife Between us is a pretty-good page-turner with surprise twists like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. In part, you don't see them coming because they're somewhat unbelievable -- after the first 'gotcha,' but I enjoyed reading it all the same.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC of The Wife Between Us, by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. At first I wasn't sure that I liked this book.Nellie divorced from Richard tries to stop his newly engaged girlfriend from marrying him. I couldn't figure out who was who and what was going on, then gradually thing started coming together....or did they? Twists and turns, and I couldn't put the book down. One final zinger at the end I never saw coming! Great read.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the first half and how the reader is "tricked " into believing it is two prople. I would have found it interesting to find out more about Richard and Maureens relationship. Liked the twist eith Emma at the end - who is in charge was a good surprise

Oh. My. Goodness. Thank you so much to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review. You are going to be hearing about this one. I guarantee it. If you want a psychological thriller that will literally make you feel like you're on a rollercoaster, this is it. I stopped at a couple of points during the book just to digest what I'd read to make sure I read it right. Pre-order this one right now. You can thank me later.
