I loved this book. I was expecting to enjoy it, but not love it. But I loved it. This is an exceptionally well-written story, with a carefully choreographed story line that totally draws the reader in. I loved the twists and turns of the plot that were naturally woven into the fabric of the story, and totally enhanced the experience. The underdog triumphs in a totally unexpected way. Maybe there is a fairytale ending and people do get their just-desserts. A must-read.

Thoroughly entertaining. Amber Patterson wants more, no - she deserves more - more of everything, luxury, wealth and the lifestyle that it brings. Furthermore, Amber Patterson will go to any lengths to get just that. By befriending a certain Mrs Parrish, Amber Patterson is about to put her plan into action. Overall it's a treat of a read and recommended for a few hours of wicked, total escapism.

Thank you to Harper Collins for this review copy.

Loved it! In 2 words!
Amber Patterson wants to be Mrs Parrish, the only problem is there is already a Mrs Parrish in the form of Daphne.
Amber meets Daphne at the gym and pretends to have something in common with her in the form of a sister with Cystic Fibrosis. Daphne has a very successful foundation called Julie's Smile named for her sister and Amber pretends that she had a sister - Charlene - that died of the disease.
Kind hearted Daphne invites Amber to help at the upcoming fundraiser and gradually Amber weedles herself into family life at the Parrish House.
Amber it turns out has no scruples, she will lie, cheat and do anything to win her prize.
Love her or hate her Amber is a mixed up girl, but will she gets what she deserves or will Daphne fight to keep her perfect life?

Amber is a driven and single minded woman who wants it all - lavish lifestyle, fancy clothes, parties and the rich and handsome husband who will provide it all!

Daphne has it all - the parties, the gowns, the exotic holidays, the beautiful home and the very handsome Jackson.

The story is a delicious psychological thriller which sees Amber manipulate her way into the Parish's lives as she tries to fulfil her ambition and take the life she thinks she was born to lead. Lots of twists and turns ensue but who gets the man?

This was a great read for sitting by the pool - I really enjoyed it and look forward to more from this author! Many thanks to netgalley for an arc of this book in return for my honest opinion.

I found this book a little slow to start with but it becomes a real page turner when you begin to read from Daphne's point of view. Well written, the characters are not what you expect with plenty of twists and turns. A gritty psychological thriller with personalities you will love to hate and a few surprises along the way.

I'd heard a lot of great things about this book and it certainly lived up to the hype. Set in present day America it tells the story of Amber a girl from the wrong side of the tracks with something to hide. She befriends the rich and glamorous Daphne who has the sort of life Amber craves. She has a hidden agenda to live Daphne's life by ensnaring her rich and attentive husband. I guessed the twist if that's the correct term but it in no way detracts from the page turning story.
Beware just what you wish for, you may live to regret it.

Enjoyable enough, but rather predictable I thought and a little slow so I skipped lots of the second half. Not really my type of book...

A light easy read, great for taking on holiday. The plot was predictable from the start, but still a great book. The writing in places was not great, so that did let down the depth of the books appeal.

The Last Mrs Parrish is a psychological thriller about Amber, a single young woman who befriends Daphne, the wife of wealthy Jackson Parrish and insinuates herself into their lives. A twisted, dark, complex tale that will keep the reader guessing. Interesting characters and plot makes this a very enjoyable read.

Husband and life stealer gets her comeuppance. Ok - very readable - but ultimately a bit thin.

Thank You to Netgalley, Liv Constantine and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for letting me read this book.

I really cannot say anything about the book except Oh My God, What have I just read? Although there are quite a few chapters in this book that make it a big one I like the fact that they are not too long.

The Last Mrs. Parrish is a psychological thriller, very dark in place's but somertimes emotional. Like many reviews I have come across I dont want to say anything about this book because it is a must read. What I will say though is that if you choose to read this, you will really like it if you enjoy the psychological thrillers.

Well Done Liv Constantine for gaining another fan through me. I look forward to finding and reading your other books as you had me truly hooked from z few pages in.

If I could give more than five stars then I would to this book. What a brilliant story it starts quite simply then wow, what a twist. Amber befriends Daphne Parrish as she wants her husband Jake. So begins Amber's plan. Will she get what she wants? This is a must read book.

A book of two halves, the first half from the perspective of Amber, a woman who thinks she deserves a better life and is willing to do pretty much anything to get it and the second half from the perspective of Daphne, the woman who has everything that Amber wants...or does she?

I devoured this book within 48 hours as it was incredibly fast paced. I just had to know what was going to happen next! It's very hard to review this book without giving the main twist away but i will say that things are not always what they seem.

I would definitely recommend this book if you like a good thriller with a twist. Will certainly be looking out for anything else by Liv in the future.

I received this book free of charge from the publisher in return for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

A great psychological thriller that focuses on Amber and Daphne - two women from entirely different worlds who become friends, though not by chance. Amber schemes to insinuate herself into Daphne's world and personal life, all with the goal of attracting the interest of Daphne's husband Jackson, one of Long Island's wealthiest men. A twist half way through turns all you thought you knew on its head and the story concludes with a really satisfying ending in which everyone gets exactly what they deserve. Highly recommended - I'll be looking out for the next Liv Constantine thriller! (Posted on amazon.co.uk as RachelReads)

A clever story about manipulation. I couldn't put this book down and found myself galloping through it to find out what was going to happen.

The first part of the book is told from Amber's perspective - she is a thoroughly horrible character who is determined to entrap Jackson Parrish. The second half of the book is told from Daphne Parrish's point of view.

I thought the book was going in one direction but then came the twist - fantastic. I don't want to say too much more as I wouldn't want to spoil it. This is a book full of twists and turns, envy, greed, manipulation, betrayal and revenge.

I found it compelling and a thrilling page-turner. What a fantastic ending, well executed and very satisfying - I loved it.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this! I was able to guess some of the twists but that did not take away the enjoyment. Great one.

It’s a while since I’ve read a book like this: one where you can’t wait to find a free five minutes to dive in or can’t wait to go to bed to read…or even hope you’re going to get a teensy bit of insomnia!

Unusually authored (two sisters co-wrote), the writing is seamless. It’s a story of greed…and a girl, Amber, who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. It’s also a story of domestic abuse and the cunning the victim, Daphne, uses to escape it. How fortunate that she 'happens' to meet the greedy Amber.

It’s fairly easy to guess early on (well, early-ish) how the story is going to unravel, but the writing and plot is so engrossing, I was more than just a little compelled to read on. It’s a well-structured plot that moves at the right pace.

Despite the dark elements in the book, the quality of the writing makes this an easy and satisfying read.

These authors have very definitely made it to my look-out-for list.

The Last Mrs Parrish by Liv Constantine
Rating 4.2/5
An unusual, debut psychological thriller written by the Constantine sisters. The Last Mrs Parrish meanders through the lives of Amber Patterson, a determined, materialistic and amoral golddigger and the beautiful Daphne and her gorgeous husband, Jackson.
Then wham, bang, wallop the whole scenario gets turned on it’s head. Even when you think, well what an outcome it just keeps spinning around: what else will be revealed?
I don’t doubt we will be hearing a lot from Lynne and Valerie Constantine. Recommended.
I received a copy of the Last Mrs Parrish from NetGalley for an honest and unbiased review, which I have given. Many thanks.

This is the debut novel by the writing partnership of Lynne & Valerie Constantine. I read the synopsis and was immediately intrigued because it sounded just my kind of read with lots of drama and suspense. I was not to be disappointed as I totally loved it but more about that in a bit.
I have to say that from the start I didn’t take to Amber Patterson and I was suspicious of her throughout, with good reason too. Amber is basically sick of being poor and she decides that she wants some of the rich living for herself. She engineers a meeting with Daphne Parrish, who is the wife of a tremendously wealthy man, and from there builds a friendship, which soon becomes unbreakable. Amber doesn’t really want to be friends with Daphne, she just wants her husband and her lifestyle. In my eyes, (and I am suspicious of everyone) I couldn’t believe how quickly Daphne swallowed the fairy tale story that Amber dreamt up, without doing any background checks on her. However, Amber was very clever in that she found Daphne Parrish’s weakness, and that is her sister, who had and died as a result of Cystic Fibrosis. Amber then exploited that and Daphne’s good nature. Amber is highly manipulative, highly dangerous, focussed and downright selfish. She has her mind on the end prize (in this case Jackson Parrish and his wealth) and she won’t let anybody or anything get in the way of her achieving that. As for Daphne well I felt really sorry for her from the start. She has this wealthy and extravagant life but there seems to be something that isn’t quite right with the picture so to speak. I am not going to tell you what is wrong because I don’t want to give too much away because that would spoil it for everybody. She misses her sister terribly and I did wonder if her dedication to fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis was her way of apologising to her sister because she couldn’t save her. At times Daphne did seem like a lost little sheep and quite lonely too. Daphne seemed to be almost grateful to Amber at times because Amber wanted to be friends with her on her own merit and not because of who she was married to. How little did she know at the time. Will Amber get the life she dreams of? Is the high life all it cracked up to be? Is there a sting in the tale? Well for all those answers and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves as I am not going to tell you.
To say that this book is a page turner has to be the understatement of the year so far. I became so wrapped up in the story and whether or not Amber achieved her aim that the pages literally flew past. The writing style is such that you can’t fail but be drawn in from the very first page onwards. I was certainly gripped by the story and I felt as though the book had cast a spell on me, because I wasn’t released from the book’s grip until I turned the back cover over. I became so involved with the story that I began tutting at what I had read, shouting at Daphne to wake up and see what was happening in front of her eyes and I wanted to jump inside the pages of the book to give Amber a good slap with a wet flip flop a few dozen times for picking on Daphne. I suppose that I thought I had to jump in to defend and help Daphne. By the time I had finished reading ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’ I really did feel as though I had been on an emotional rollercoaster ride with all the twists, turns, OMG moments and stomach churning moments. There were literally times when I had to hold my breath and almost read on through my fingers because I was dreading what Amber was going to get up to next.
In short I totally and utterly loved reading ‘The Last Mrs. Parrish’ even if it did make me shudder at times. I loved everything about it and I can’t wait to read what comes next from this very talented writing partnership. I would definitely recommend this book to others. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a whopping and well deserved 5* out of 5*
