Loved it to start off with, but I couldn’t get into it. Just not for me.

A tale of the unraveling of Daphne Parrish's perfect marriage. On the outside Daphne has the perfect husband and marriage, a lifestyle most could only dream of. Of course, perhaps all is not as it seems. Enter Amber, a woman struggling to make ends meet, but with big plans and ambitions. She is determined to usurp Daphne, and have that lifestyle herself. This is a tale of ' be careful what you wish for'. I enjoyed the journey.

This book reminded be on Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty, for the marriage between Daphne and Jackson.
We start with Amber, learning that she wants more, and will do anything to get it. Setting her sights on Jackson because hes rich and good looking. Befriending his wife is the way in, stopping at nothing to get what she wants.
The story switches from Amber's narrative to Daphne's in part 2 of the book and we travel back in history to the early days of their marriage - and we find out what being Mrs Parrish is really like.
The books is a good easy read. . .

Amber Patterson is that person you never want to meet in person let, alone in a dark alley. She is bitter, jealous, and out to take what she can. Amber craves the lifestyle of Daphne Parrish.
Daphne is rich she has a handsome husband who dotes on her and the standard two children.
Amber begins to plot a means of having having Daphne’s life and what follows is a bit of a roller coaster ride. The characters here are annoying which i think is exactly what the are meant to be. The husband is a thoroughly creepy character and the author really has him spot on.
The story is told from the perspectives of the two female characters and this works well because they are telling the same events subjectively. It is when Daphne starts to trawl back into the past that the book becomes interesting. I don’t want to give the story line away, so I will say no more other than....... at times you really should be careful what you wish for.

Good god what a book and a half this is.

So basically amber wants the life of daphne, she has a beautiful home, husband, money and the life amber thinks she deserves. So amber goes out to get it....

The book is in 3 parts Amber, Daphne and then a 3rd part which in my opinion is the best part...!

I hated Amber and thought Daphne needed a ticket up her backside half the time however it all comes out in the wash so they say, and it did.

This book had me gripped and I seriously couldn’t put it down, I had to find out what happened next and begrudged feeding my kids as it took me away from my kindle! It’s seeiously full of twists and turns at one point I’m like omg, no, hang on a minute and had to go back and actually re-read it again!

It’s an absolute corker and I honestly can’t wait to read more from the author, I’d give it 10 stars if I could,

This was a great read. I found it hard to put this book down. Daphne (Mrs Parrish) has the sort of life women wish for, married to a very charasmatic, charming, handsome, rich man. Amber on the other hand has nothing. The two quickly become friends and as the story progresses you realise how manuipulative Amber is. I do not do spoilers but will say that this book is a must. It drew me in so deep I almost felt part of it.
I would hightly recommend this book, it is a fantastically written, brilliant piece of ficton.

Be careful what you wish for!! This is one of those books. that once you start, it is very very difficult to put down.
Not so much a psychological thriller, but certainly a fascinating psychological profile of a sociopath. This was a gripping tale with many twists and turns and a totally unexpected ending..

I requested this title from Netgalley based on the description and in return for an honest review. It’s American and when I realised that the author, Liv Constantine was in fact two sisters, I was tempted not to begin reading. Multiple authors frequently mean a piece constructed between them purely for the market. I’m also getting tired of “psychological thrillers”. I should have followed my first instinct. The book tended to plod along on leaden feet. Several times I decided to give up, but having asked for it I preserved. Most of the story is told through Amber who is working the con and latterly by Deborah, the wronged wife. It takes place in the world of the super rich outside New York City. The authors have assumed that this is a world that their readers will enjoy reading about. I don’t feel that human emotions are adequately conveyed and descriptions of scenery and events are fairly basic, This tale lacks depth. Nothing fires the imagination. There are no likable characters in this book, all being selfish and manipulating. It’s a tale of human greed which I failed to enjoy.

This is an absolutely wickedly delicious book. Full five stars rating for this one. The story is addictive from the start. The writing flows naturally and effortlessly. Amber, the home wrecker, is out to steal Mr. Parrish, Daphne's husband. The first major part is Amber's point of view, the second is Daphne's point of view. It has a very satisfying ending.

A complicated, twisted thriller. Strong female character who overcomes much to win in the end.

I was looking forward to this book, as I thought it might appeal to fans of relationship thrillers like those by Gillian Flynn and Paula Hawkins. Sadly, I was disappointed - although there was a good twist, I found the book to be formulaic and derivative of other books of this genre.

I can't believe this is a debut novel - it is fantastic! The story starts by immediately launching into the objective of Amber - a manipulative, deceitful young woman who wants the life of the lovely, lucky Daphne with her perfect marriage and family. So cleverly written, easy to read and fast paced. At one point you think you know where this is going and how can there still be a good portion of book left - well woah hold on as this is where it spins to a glorious, shocking new direction. A most glorious, satisfying ending.

I was flabbergasted by this book. It was thrilling, gripping, with huge twists and turns I didn't see coming. I absolutely adored it, and it's the best book I've read this year so far. Highly recommend this!!

A guilty pleasure of a read....but one that you can indulge in!!!! Amber has a mission to steal Daphne’s wealthy husband and this is that story.....the Parrish family are very wealthy so expect to feel sickened and jealous by the lavish displays of money! Would recommend for the Jackie Collins type fans!

This was a fun, easy read. Not another Gone Girl because the twist is predictable, but still got me involved enough with the characters to feel I had skin in the game. I wanted more punishment than i got for the main villains, but all in all it was a satisfying ending and the psycopathy was grimly engaging!

I was worried about how this book would turn out after the first change of point of view. However I was really pleasantly surprised by the different twist s and turns of this thriller

Written by sisters under the pen name of Liv Constantine, The Last Mrs Parrish is a book of 3 parts.

The first part of this novel is focused around Amber Patterson, a young woman who becomes obsessed with the life of Daphne Parrish, the rich wife of millionaire businessman Jackson Parrish. Amber, with a whole closet full of skeletons behind her, becomes increasingly envious of the woman who has everything she wants in life, and begins to insinuate herself into her world – with the end goal of infiltrating Jackson’s marriage and taking Daphne’s place in it. Home-wrecker doesn’t even cover it. Neither does Psycho.

Following an orchestrated ‘chance’ meeting at the gym (these introductions always seem to happen at gyms – beware!) big hearted Daphne takes a big-sisterly shine to Amber after discovering that they apparently have something very sad in common – the tragic death of their respective sisters due to Cystic Fibrosis. Daphne set up a foundation in memory of her sister, and Amber very quickly gets a place on the committee, much to the concern of some of Daphne’s friends. The two become close very quickly, and after pretending that she has to leave her job as her boss has sexually harassed her, Daphne finds Amber a new job as – you guessed it – her husband Jackson’s new assistant.

Amber’s plan goes into full swing and she lets us in on when she’s planning. If she gets her way, Daphne will be out on her ear and Amber will be the new Mrs Parrish, beaming on Jackson’s arm. Set up for life.

It’s around this point that we switch to part 2 – Daphne’s story, where the scene has been cleverly set and it’s no surprise to discover that all may not be exactly as it seems. After all, who has the perfect life?

Finally, we get to part 3, which switches between Amber and Daphne, where they are now, as events take over and there is a real sense of being careful what you wish for in case you get what you deserve.

There are only 3 characters in this book, apart from a few bit players, but they are all that are needed to convey the all encompassing envy that pours from Amber, and the claustrophobic closeness of Daphne and Jackson. There are some scenes of graphic physical and psychological violence, and in my opinion, a few too many explicit scenes – we already know Amber is using her sexuality to get to Jackson, and I feel this was a little overplayed, but perhaps that is to make us understand the baseness of her character – less love and emotion involved, more ruthless ambition.

The very last chapter felt a bit Scooby-Doo for me. Would work in a film where everything has to be shown in visuals, but in a book, you just wouldn’t do what Daphne did. If you burn a house down, you go away and wait to hear that it’s happened, rather than stand on the sidelines ,watching, with a can of gasoline in your hand.

Apart from that I found this to be quite a riveting read. Amber is just a horrid creature, but manages to stay on the realistic side of nasty and narcissistic, rather than Disney villain evil. Daphne is a very cleverly written character that you can’t help but root for, whether or not you see her as a downtrodden victim of a homewrecker, or something different. If you like a really good psychological thriller that at times makes you want to scream in frustration to warn characters what’s about to happen, then this book is for you!
