I loved this psychological thriller and was not expecting the twist. I was hooked from the first few pages and therefore read this book in a day it was sooo addictive.
This book is written from two sides of a story, the first half is from Amber’s perspective and the second half from her new friend Daphne’s perspective.
One of my favourite books of 2017.

I gratefully received this book from Netgalley and was led to believe it was a psychological thriller but I don't agree with that categorisation. There is a dark, psychological element to it but when I first started reading I almost gave up quite early on as, in my opinion it should have been classified as chick-lit which is far from being my favourite type of fiction.
Without giving too much away, I stuck with it and was pleasantly surprised when Amber's somewhat over-egged narration, which could have easily been reduced by several chapters with a little pruning, was replaced by Daphne's story which I found thrilling, dark and addictive. This section could easily have been written by a different author, unless this was, of course, a deliberate ploy by the author.
The final section drew everything together in a very satisfactory manner and overall I consider it to have been a good read and I would look for other titles by this author(s).

I enjoyed this book. The telling of the story through the two eyes of the two Mrs Parrish was interesting. I think it was clear from early on that there was likely to be domestic violence and control in the relationship but that did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the book. I thought that the ending was satisfactory..

Interesting idea and well written. Unexpected twist and liked that it was written from two different perspectives.

Really enjoyed this novel. Its an easy read from page one and if it hadn't been described as 'twisty' on the reviews, I may have expected a gentle family drama. However, it soon becomes apparent that all is not what it seems and the plot soon builds to a point where it's difficult to put down.
Then the beginning of Part 2 suddenly makes the reader sit up straight and drop your cuppa in your lap.
Difficult to say much without giving anything away but having had a similar 'experience' for over 20 years, I found some of the scenes very uncomfortable reading. This is not a criticism, quite the opposite. It is testament to the author's excellent research and accuracy with a difficult subject and the skill with which she delivers it.
The book races towards a crescendo which had me cheering one of the characters on and a subtle, extra twist at the end, left a smile and a feeling of time well spent. Many thanks to Liv Constantine for the entertainment and to Netgalley for the experience.

This is a page turner and a quick read. An interesting first novel - one that I enjoyed very much. Once I started on part II of the book I realised where it was all going. I did feel that it was a bit long winded in part I - almost as if to push home hard what the characters were all about, but I was hooked from there on.

Brilliant brilliant read. Oh be careful what you wish for! Divided into three separate parts we start with Amber, see things from Daphne’s perspective and then it all comes together in part three with an exploding ending. Great stuff

How far would a woman seeking power, prestige, and fortune go to secure a man who would provide all of those things and more? This is the question that Liv Constantine's The Last Mrs. Parrish initially asks, but as the book progresses, we find appearances are deceiving.
The first half of the book follows the plight of the conniving, self-absorbed Amber, a young woman in her 20s who is running from her sordid past. Seeking money and power, Amber has moved far from her Nebraskan hometown to the high brow community of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut. She's done investigate research to find a wealthy, attractive man to fulfill her life goals, selecting the wealthy, seemingly successful family of Jackson and Daphne as her prey.
Amber is calculated and cold; she knows exactly how to worm her way into the family without arousing too much suspicion. Or, at least it seems that way. Amber befriends Daphne at the local upscale gym. Having done extensive research on Jackson and Daphne, Amber reveals that her sister passed away of Cystic Fibrosis. Daphne runs a charity for families suffering from Cystic Fibrosis as her sister passed away from it many years ago. Daphne immediately takes a liking to Amber, as she has yet to meet many women who know what it is like to lose a beloved sister to Cystic Fibrosis. This seemed to be a bit of a plot hole to me; isn't it somewhat odd that Daphne has yet to make good friends with other families who have suffered a loss given she runs a huge charity for Cystic Fibrosis? We later learn that Daphne has ulterior motives for befriending Amber, which resolved this plot hole.
Amber manages to not only become a permanent fixture in Daphne's life, but also in Jackson's. Jackson hires Amber as his assistant to his assistant (yes, he's rich) after Amber tearfully tells Daphne she is being sexually harassed by her boss. Slowly, Amber transforms from a woman lacking fashion sensibilities to a woman who men desire; she changes her hairstyle, her makeup, and clothing to appeal to Jackson. Jackson starts to take note of Amber, and soon they are arranging secretive trips around the world, nights out on the town, and wild evenings in hotels and at Jackson's other properties. Amber thinks she has secured Jackson's affections and the future she envisioned, only to find out that she has simply scratched the surface of Jackson and Daphne's family dynamics and secrets.
If it weren't for the thrilling twist in this book that happens midway through it, Amber's story would seem like another Lifetime movie plot. There is certainly no lack of novels involving scorned lovers and cunning mistresses. But this book takes it to another level, illustrating that what we thought about Daphne and Jackson's marriage is superficial at best. I suppose this should have been a red flag for me as a reader, especially considering we initially learn about Daphne and Jackson through Amber's jaded eyes.
It's hard to write this review without revealing some major spoilers. Let's just say that besides being a cheater, Jackson is not the person he seems to be, nor is Daphne the meek, submissive, and money hungry woman Amber makes her out to be. Once I got through Amber's narrative (at about the 40% mark of the book), I could not put this book down. The ending was satisfyingly delicious.
Please note that there are scenes of domestic violence in this book, so if that is a trigger for you, you probably should not read this book.
Thank you to the authors, the publisher, HarperFiction, and NetGalley for the opportunity to review the The Last Mrs. Parrish. Note that Liv Constantine is the pen name of the sister writing team, Lynne and Valerie Constantine, who wrote the book over Skype (how neat is that?!).

Daphne appears to have an enviable life as the adored wife of the handsome and extremely rich Jackson Parrish - a beautiful home, two lovely daughters and a life of general luxury.
Amber wants what Daphne has, and will stop at nothing to get it, insinuating her way into the heart of the family with impressive skill and determination.
But is everything as it seems?
The Last Mrs Parrish is a very enjoyable read from Liv Constantine (actually sisters Lynne and Valerie Constantine). I did kind of guess roughly where it might be going some way into the first half of the book, but it is nevertheless a very cleverly constructed plot and a seriously addictive read. The ending is satisfying, but did leave me a bit concerned as to the fate of one character.
Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

Loved this book. It has been a while since a book hooked me like this one did. Great writing and storyline. Definitely recommended 5 stars.

First time reading this author and definitely won't be the last - Wow Wow Wow what thrilling ride this was fantastic plot and pace was perfect loved every word.
Daphne - beautiful blonde socialite married to a multi millionaire and has two beautiful children living the perfect life only the super wealthy can imagine but is it as perfect as it seems ?
Amber a plain girl who befriends Daphne and gradually initiates herself into the family but what is her ulterior motive ?
Jackson Parrish, handsome, super rich, has everything he could ever want, appears to be the perfect husband with the perfect family but are appearances deceiving ?
One of the best books I've read this year 5+ stars well deserved.

Jackson Parrish was the perfect catch. He was handsome, accomplished, successful in business, incredibly rich and enjoyed all the trappings of wealth and power. For Amber, who lusted after such a life of privilege and ease, there was only one minor hiccup – his beautiful wife Daphne with whom he was clearly still very much in love.
Amber, being clever, cunning and ambitious, did not intend to allow Daphne or their two tiresome daughters to hinder her unscrupulous scheme to become the next, and last, Mrs Parrish.
This is a fascinating psychological profile of a sociopath. I was so hooked by the story that I continued reading through the night until I finished it. The action was told from a couple of different perspectives, each contributing to and rounding out the story. This was a gripping thriller with many twists and turns and a totally unexpected ending.

'The Last Mrs.Parrish' as unbelievable as ti seems is the D-E-B-U-T Novel of the Constantine sisters... The writing style is lush where they have painstakingly included the finer details... giving us an almost voyeuristic view into the 'behind-closed doors' lifestyle of the wealthy... from the POV of a creepy maniac.
Amber, Daphne, Jackson and even the little girls have extremely well-rounded character sketches in their own sense...
The POVs are brilliant, the twists are unexpectedly brilliant and this book is definitely on its way to being a SMASHING HIT!
Kudos!
**Thanks to Netgalley and the pblisher for my ARC!**

Loved, loved, loved this book. These literary writing sisters are onto something good. The Last Mrs Parrish had me gripped, right to the end and I'd almost expected it to finish half way through. Plot twists galore For any fans of BA Paris, this is Well worth a read.

Amber Patterson is tired of being a nobody and is on a mission to become a somebody! How Amber accomplishes this forms this engrossing and wicked story. The 3 main characters include Amber and Connecticut Golden Couple Jackson & Daphne Parrish. Amber befriends Daphne at the local gym and soon insinuates herself into every area of her life including the role of Chairperson of the committee of the Cystic Fibrosis charity Daphne runs in memory of the sister she lost to the disease.
Amber wants everything that Daphne has - money, position, privilege - and decides that stealing Daphne' s husband, the handsome and powerful Jackson, is the best way to achieve this.
What follows is Amber' s systematic campaign to destroy Daphne' s marriage whilst masquerading as her closest friend.
But being a very well written psychological thriller all is definitely not as it seems and conveys the message that you should be careful what you wish for extremely well!
I absolutely loved this book and will wait impatiently for the next release by this author.
Thanks to Netgalley for the advance review copy - a very well deserved 5 stars!

This is a fabulous read. I really loved it and was so sad when it was finished. Everything about it worked. The story revolves around a love triangle and the scheming Amber who is out to get Daphne's life and her wealthy husband ,Jackson. The three parts made for a good structure, hearing Amber, then Daphne's voice, learning how they outdid each other without the other person knowing was such a fun structure, I honestly couldn't put it down. And in the middle of it all, the controlling Jackson. It was all very believable and so well thought through. Brilliantly entertaining, shockingly plausible.

The Last Mrs. Parrish is a brilliant read .The story has three main characters Amber who wants to be rich Daphne the Rich spoilt wife and Jackson the multimillionaire husband .Amber is out to steal Jackson away from Daphne as she wants to be rich so she wiggles her way into Daphne's life and then the trouble begins .This a unique story, nothing is as it seems, just when you think you know where the story is going it changes direction.I absolutely loved it couldn't put the book down, a very good and surprising ending.

This is well-structured and has a surprising twist, but it was not for me. The characters are not very nice to say the least, and I found the whole thing distasteful. It is also far too long. I am glad I did not pay for it.

Wow this had a twist that I hadn't expected. Just shows we shouldn't wish for someone else's life as no-one knows what goes on behind closed doors.
This is the sory of Amber who wishes to change her life - so much so she steals a false identity. On the other side we have Daphne who is married to the extremely wealthy Jackson. What one wants the other doesn't and has been wanting to change her life for years.
This is a real page turner and I look forward to reading more of this author's books.
