I was lucky enough to be given a sneak peek sampler to this intriguing looking cookbook and it has seriously wet my appetite for more! The two recipes Included in my sampler were cheese scones with chive butter & Eton mess cheesecake, both of which seemed easy enough to make. Each recipe was accompanied with a clear ingredients list, simple instructions to follow and beautiful photos of the finished product.

Nadiya's introduction was beautifully written and all the detailed information helped me envision what life was like for Nadia growing up in Britain and how her experiences both at home and at school helped shape her love of food. She poses a very interesting question regarding what British food really is and explains that it is a 'melting pot' from all different cultures, which I think sums it up very well.

The contents page showed that the recipes were split into different chapters with heading including : breakfast & brunch, friends over, something special, for the love of lunch, party time, midweek lunch and puddings. So, it seems there is something here to suit most moods and occasions.

As a vegetarian I would like to know if there are any veggie or vegan recipes in the mix here, so it is unfortunate I was not able to find this out from the sample. I would love to have explored this book more and do intend to have a good look at a 'real life copy' next time I'm in my local bookshop.

Charming. What's more to say? Oh, I know. Delicious.
From the moment we all shed a tear alongside Mary Berry, Bake Off viewers have been watching the ever-inspiring Nadiya (listen to her Desert Island Disc story!) rise like a golden sponge and this book, that accompanies her latest series, is no exception.
Putting me in mind of the Hairy Biker's "Mum Knows Best" and Jamie Oliver's "Jamie's Great Britain", this recipe collection follows her adventures around the country taking traditional and well-practiced dishes and adding a little Hussain magic.
Don't miss out on the carrot and parsnip bhajis-perfect for the family and school cookery lessons alike.

Nadiya is fantastic! I loved watching her battle through to win GGBO.

The recipes included in this new book are easy to follow and accompanied with amazingly tantalising photographs. I am not one to use cook books but this book has had me playing in the kitchen and learning new recipes which I am now including in my regular menu planning. Thanks Nadiya!

Beautiful book.

I watched Nadiya on her British Bake Off journey and have been impressed by her TV series. This book was an obvious choice. It is beautifully presented with amazing colour photos.

I was a little disappointed as I clicked Read Now and downloaded it from Netgalley-and on the Read Now page it said nothing about it being a sampler. I had thought I was getting the full book-so it's difficult to review the short version when you just get 2 recipes. A book I got from Netgalley before clearly said it was a sampler/first few chapters etc.

Having had a read through the 'Look inside' feature on amazon, all the recipes are listed in the index and sound absolutely mouth-watering. It looks a fabulous book and I will certainly be buying it.

I’m a cook book fiend. Of the two recipes available to view on this sample they did look jolly fun. Design-wise the book is a visual treat. I love Nadiya and so I’ll prob pop into a bookshop and take a closer look at this. Was forced to put a star rating so have opted for 3 because I can’t see much of the book to judge it adequately.

I love Nadiya and I loved this look. She is just a delight. And in terms of the cookbook, as off as it sounds but the photos are often what inspire me for recipes and these are really attractive and clear. I can't wait to see what she does next.

I have loved Nadiya since seeing her on Bake Off and have enjoyed subsequent TV shows that she has been part of, so having a peek inside a cookbook is a must.

I suppose the first thing I always look for in cookbooks is, strangely enough, the pictures and I have to say they are top notch, as I would be hoping for in a good cookbook they make me feel hungry just looking at them. The next of course is easy to understand instructions and from the two recipes I am privy to everything seems clear and concise, perfect for a person who needs exact guidelines when going anywhere near an oven.

It was nice to hear Nadiya's take on British food, I wholeheartedly agree with her and I like that it has become an amalgamation of lots of different culture's cuisine. From the introduction, it's easy to spot her love of cooking and where it came from and I almost wish I had been one of the people passing her parent's house because it sounds like it would have been an amazing feast.

Updated after reading the whole book

This book has made me hungry. It’s full of exciting and different recipies that I can’t wait to start making and all from a girl who loves potatoes so is a girl from my heart before I even start at page one. This book feels like you are cooking with an old friend and Nadiyas warmth and humour that we loved in bake off radiates off each page.

I've never heard of Nadiya before and this small sample was a nice opportunity to get to know her. The two recipes seemed interesting but I will need to sample more of her recipes before I buy one of her books.

I was very excited to receive a sample copy of Nadiya´s British Food Adventure. I watched the Great British Bake Off and enjoyed watching Nadiya´s journey throughout the show. What she has accomplished since then, is quite inspirational. I enjoyed reading this sample, the two recipes included looked wonderful and the photographs are very clear and appetising. I would be interested in purchasing this book in the future for myself or family and friends.

Most people know Nadiya Hussein as the novice cook who won The Great British Bake-off in 2015. She now has her own cooking program on the BBC and it’s wonderful that she shares some of her recipes in videos online. This cookbook does justice to all she has done previously in that the recipes are just as imaginative and creative. Photos of the final products are mouth-watering and the recipes appear to be doable. Learning about Nadiya’s childhood and how she got into cooking made for fun reading and really adds to the book.

There is a wonderful mix of flavours, cultures and bright colours in this book. As someone unfamiliar with the series, I was drawn in by the book's cover and mix of recipes, with various national influences. I am also partial t a cookbook that has lots of pictures so you have the visual aim in front of you.

This is not a cookbook for the beginner/speedy chef. If you enjoy mastering complex recipes or if you want inspiration to turn a tried-and-tested classic into something new, then this is the book for you. Taking time to make the chai tea banana cake (adapted by me with coconut flour so that it was GF) was enjoyable and I loved the variation on a fairly standard recipe for me. More complex offerings, such as cayenne eggs benedict, I have not yet tried, but will do with enough time and when the pressure is on to produce something special for brekkie!

Many thanks to NetGalley, Penguin Michael Joseph and Nadiya Hussein for a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I quite enjoyed it. But it's not a recipe book for everyday use. The easy recipes I've tried turned out amazing.

Nadyia’s new book fuses together her heritage. Her charming voice comes through quite clearly in moments of prose, while the recipes take a similar formate to those that appear in tv BakeOff books.

A beautiful collection of recipes that look delicious. Some are more complex than others but nothing is too intimidating that's to Nadiya's own reassuring personality coming through. Nadiya takes on some British classics and gives them a fresh spin, creating recipes that look familiar while still feeling interesting and new.
