A sample of this book as been provided by the author/ publisher via Netgalley with no obligation to provide a review.

In the introduction, Nadiya talked about what food meant to her growing up and thereafter identified the role played by various family members. Whilst our personal stories are different, the stories resonated with me because growing up food and meal times was an integral part of my family life.

Prior to receiving the sampler copy of this book, I watched an episode of Nadiya's new series, similarly titled, as a result of which I resolved to buy the book prior.

The sampler edition contains 2 recipes, one with a picture and the other without. The recipes are easy to follow and I look forward to trying both out.

The small sample I downloaded definitely whetted my appetite to read more of Nadiya's recipe book.

The opening section seemed more memoir than recipe book, but I enjoyed learning more about Nadiyah, and it established her friendly, personable voice.

The two recipes included looked great, and presented a twist on ordinary classics. The pictures were great and the actual recipes clear and more engaging than is often the case.

I really liked the recipes in this book. Have tried a few and they are very easy and well thought out. Will purchase this for my ever increasing cookery book library.

I like her easy manner and her different take on recognisable dish. Refreshing and interesting.

Nadiya says that the food of her childhood was a collision of two worlds - her Bangladeshi roots and recipes and basically everything else she ate in the UK. British food has changed and evolved so much over the last fifty years with influences and flavours from virtually everywhere in the world. Dishes have been adapted and fused so that they become original in their own right.

I recall in the early seventies 'experimenting' with spaghetti bolognaise and fish and chicken curries spiced with curry powder, eating chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnuts in a Chinese restaurant. It all felt so avant-garde back then. Now it is possible to source ingredients and cook with a myriad of unusual spices and herbs and techniques that have enriched British cookery beyond measure.

Like Nadiya, I am also a very keen cook and one of those people who will read a cookery book like a novel. I, too, like to show my love for my family and friends through the meals I prepare for them.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Penguin Books UK - Michael Joseph and Nadiya Hussain for the sampler. As there were only two recipes I am unable to give a full review or possibly award it the right number of stars.

I have loved following Nadiya's journey and this book that goes with the new TV series is just another part of that. Fantastic British recipes, often with a little twist, but that is what makes British food so great, throughout history we have taken what others are doing and we have tweaked it.

Nadiya Hussain has been taken to the hearts of Britain following her win on 'The Great British Bake Off' and it is easy to see why. She has a very warm and friendly approach to writing which seems to mirror her on screen personality and her food is simplicity itself. Written to accompany the TV series of the same name this is a collection of simple recipes designed to make the most of quality ingredients. Some criticism has been levelled that the recipes are too simple, some of them are but that never stopped Delia Smith! There is nothing worse that a book which shows a picture of a stunning dish which then demands a huge list of ingredients which are a) expensive and b) difficult to get hold of. I particularly like the spicy twists she makes on some classics.

The whole point of this book is about accessibility, Nadiya's whole concept is to be the woman next door, an ordinary housewife with a talent for cooking and an infectious and enthusiastic personality. The photography is stunning and the book is like a warm friendly hug.

I've loved Nadiya Hussain's cooking style since the first time I saw her on the Great British Baking Show and was very excited to find her cookbook. Her recipes are always beautiful and exciting with interesting flavor combinations accompanied with mouthwatering pictures. I will definitely be buying her new cookbook as soon as possible.

5☆ Scrumptious recipies

This was a sampler of Nadiya's new cook book and Wow I'm excited.

The photographs were beautifully added and the accompanying food photographs were mouth wateringly good!

Clear concise instructions and clear ingredients listed.
My only criticism was that lots of people myself included like to see Oz and g measurements. But that is just a personal choice.

Recipes included in the sample were....
1) Cheese Scones with Chive Butter
2) Eton Mess Cheesecake

Which actual made my tummy grumble!

I am very very excited about Nadiya's new book. I love watching her bake and thought she was amazing on bake off!

Will Definetly be looking to get this book to add to my ever growing collection of baking/cook books!

Highly recommend to baking and cooking enthusiasts whatever your skill level.

I'm a big fan of Nadiya's cookbook and the TV series it supports.. Nadiya's presentation both written and spoken are so easy and reflect her personality. The recipes I have seen are easy to follow and although I haven't yet tried I am sure that they will 'work'. The photography makes the recipes very appetising. I look forward to seeing the whole book and think it'll be on my wish list for birthday and Christmas ideas and will probably end up buying it for my daughter.
I have now been given the cookbook and it does not disappoint and has inspired me to try several recipes and I can vouch that they do 'work'. The narrative introducing each recipe is true Nadiya, with little twists and alternative ingredients on the way. The photography is stunning with pictures taken from her series plus finished dishes. The forward gives an insight into Nadiya's background and her journey into the culinary world. I love looking through recipe books and this one is pure joy to read and makes one rethink about unconventional combinations to create lovely dishes. Certainly has my full endorsement and I will definitely be buying further copies as presents this Christmas amongst my foodie friends and family

I am grateful to NetGalley for the opportunity to have a taster of this fabulous book. It didn't take me long to decide to go out and buy it. The recipes are wonderful and Nadiya's delightful personality shines through on every page. If you have never tried Indian cookery, this is the book to buy.

This sampler attracted me initially because I was a big fan of Nadiya throughout her season of Great British Bake Off. Her inventive and family-inspired recipes always excited me. This sampler gave me a taste of what the full cookbook might be like, and it definitely didn't disappoint! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of it. .

This little sampler of the cookbook clearly shows that it seems to be a beautiful book -clear and colourful pictures, little stories and nicely written recipes that seems to be a great mixture of different dishes and offer a nice mixture to prepare a good number of different meals.
I am certainly interested in looking and very possible getting this cookbook simply from this little sampler!

Only reading a sampler of the first 17 pages has now made me desire the cookbook. When I saw the title I thought "oh it would just be the usual food" and how wrong I was. The first few pages explain Nadiya's story of how she grew up and what British food means to her. She explains very clearly the many cultures that occupy this country and where her recipes have come from. Her writing was a wonderful start to this book.
There are only two recipes but both are not the usual ones as Nadiya has added her twist to s standard dish. I am now about to order this book from Amazon so that I will be able to browse all her recipes and I hope that they all have pictures with them as that has made the first two so appealing. I am also interested in her other books as well as she has a natural writing style as well as an interesting cuisine with lovely presentation and after all what one sees of a dish at the start sticks in the mind and so appearance is very important.Well done Nadiya for translating British food for all British people

I've been a fan of Nadiya's since her appearance on the Great British Bake Off, and I love her approach to cooking - she makes it look fun, rather than a chore!

I read a sample of this book for review, and am planning to purchase the full book as the recipes that I read were creative and added twists to dishes that would otherwise be uninspiring.

Nadiya talks about how her relationship with food was shaped by her childhood and especially her family, and it's clear to see where her passion for cooking comes from. The photographs were also beautifully shot.
