An amazing book. Love Bomb Girls, when I saw this on NetGalley and after reading this first I had to review this book. I was not disappointed with this book. Daisy's style of writing is consistent and flows into this book. It felt like coming home, I could not wait to find out where the characters are now. The story is just as exciting as the fist book. Another great book by Daisy.

Christmas with the Bomb Girls is the third book in the series but can be read as a standalone as despite not having read the first two books I had no trouble following the story.
Set in WW2 you get to see the lives of a group of women that work in a munitions factory. Despite everything that is going on you get a real sense that they are proud of the work they do and how they are helping the war effort. They would also do just about anything for each other.
The story seems to mainly centre around Gladys. She has just returned from performing at the front for the troops but straight away you know that something bad happened to her whilst she was there and she has come home to the one place she felt safe. Clearly struggling with what she experienced but not ready to talk about it she throws herself back into the familiar routine of factory life. When she is forced to stop working at the factory she quickly looks for other ways to help the war effort.
You also get to learn about the lives of her friends, Kit, Violet, Maggie, Myrtle and Nora during this time.
Despite the heartache that some of the group endure they still all come together when one of their own starts planning a Christmas wedding. Not even the wartime rations are going to stop them from celebrating in style.
Throughout the book you really get a sense of what people had to go through during this time, from air raids and hiding in shelters to losing loved ones both at home and overseas, yet despite this they pull together and are determined to make Christmas special.
I love reading books that have historical settings and this one was no exception. Daisy Styles has managed to capture the hardships of the time through the eyes of an endearing group of women. Even though it is set in the hard times of the war there are still moments that will have you smiling due to the sense of humour of the characters, equally though there are moments of sadness when the harsh realities of war push through.
Christmas with the Bomb Girls is a thoroughly enjoyable book and I hope to see what else the group of women go through during the remaining time of the war.

Christmas with the bomb girls is book 3 in a series of stories about the women in world war 2 who worked long hours putting together explosives for the soldiers at war, it is full of comrade, laughter, romance and tears. I haven't read the other books but it was easy to follow without having too and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Another warm and enjoyable story about a group of too good to be true women working in a bomb factory during World War 2. The backdrop is anything but pleasant, everything from rape, the persecution of the Jews and unexploded bombs is woven into the stories of our heroines lives. A lovely read for fans of the Bomb Girls. I am hoping the author will make her next book about the Ferry Girls, who are briefly mentioned in one of the chapters.

This was a very easy reader, and overall pleasant. Some parts of the story seemed a tad far-fetched, but enjoyed reading it nonetheless!

This is the latest festive edition of the wartime series set in Pendle featuring the return of the characters we have become familiar with. The women are working hard at their dangerous jobs at the Phoenix Munitions Factory. Myrtle has health issues, and romance is in the air for Edna. The main focus is the return of Gladys after her stint at the front, performing for the troops. However, something is clearly wrong given Gladys's out of character behaviour but she is not talking. Her close knit friends are not going to desert her in her time of need, so rally around to support her. After the stresses of their work, and the wartime ordeals, they want to let their hair down by organising a wonderful Christmas, particularly for the children. Daisy Styles has created a great set of characters whose lives you cannot help but get involved with. An entertaining and absorbing festive read. Many thanks to Penguin Michael Joseph for an ARC.

This is the third in the Bomb Girl's series and every bit as good as the other two. It's set in a munitions factory where the girls work hard to make ammunition for the soldiers in World War 2. There are many old faces and a few new ones. Plenty of tears, laughter and drama. Very enjoyable. I look forward to more in the Bomb Girl's story.

This is the third book in the Bomb Girl series and it was lovely to catch up with the characters again. It is full of wonderful friendships, romance, relationships, family moments all amongst the setting of the bomb factory on the Moors.

The girls have a dangerous job- but the camaraderie between them is great. Some of them are harbouring secrets- but you are sure that the warm friendships will have them confiding in each other at some point.

The bomb shelters and underground stations bring the horror of the war home and you really do wonder how some of the girls manage to cope on very little sleep and a demanding job and families and homes to keep.

The Christmas Day scene in the book is so lovely- you can just imagine yourself there joining in with the singsong and watching the children in awe with Father Christmas. The cover provides such promise- which is well delivered!

I can't wait to read the next in the series already.

Having read & enjoyed Daisy Styles’ previous books about the Bomb Girls I was delighted to be able to catch up with them again in this, the third book in the series.

Once again we meet the interesting and endearing characters and follow them in their joys and sorrows. It is a light read but also an engaging one.

I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for taking me back into the Bomb Girls world.

Christmas with the Bomb Girls is a wonderful warm read. Despite not having read the previous books in series, I soon settled in to enjoy the company of these women who worked and played so hard during the second world war.

There are a lovely array of characters in this novel, each true to life and just as varied as you would find among any group of friends. They share their troubles and their joys and are all the richer for it. Each has their own story to tell and the individual strands are melded together as only an expert writer can do. Such a heart warming and nostalgic read!

While they obviously have a past together, I get the feeling that it is only touched upon in this, the third in series, and at some future date I would like to read the first two. I certainly expect there will be a fourth as some threads could easily be expanded upon.

All in all, a fabulously enjoyable novel which, although set during such a dreadful time in history, clearly shows the indomitable spirit of those who lived and fought through the war. Very entertaining and one which I certainly recommend to lovers of good writing.

My thanks to publishers Penguin for allowing me to access an arc via NetGalley in exchange for my honest, original and unbiased review.

This book has it all. It has friendships, love, laughter and heartbreak. You follow the lives of the bomb girls as they struggle through all the ups and downs that wartime brings. I loved the first two books and this third one just as much. As we've met the characters before it's like following the lives of old friends. A terrific page turning read that you won't want to put down.
