I’ve never read anything by Fern before and I wasn’t sure what I would think.
This is a lovely easy to read book, set in Cornwall. A great book to read on the beach. Will definitely read some more of hers now.

A heart-warming light read, my first Fern Britton book - and the perfect antidote for the winter blues.

A nicely written story that switches time and place in an intriguing mix as we get to know the characters.

Made me think about how we are quick to judge people's behaviours and actions, without even thinking about what might lie beneath, or how difficult it might be to undo an impulsive act.

All in all an enjoyable read, and I would definitely read more by this author.

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for my honest review.

Thanks to netgalley for giving me this book in exchange for a fair review.
I must admit my previous fern Britton book didn't pull me in however, this one I couldn't put down. It's set in the magical village in Cornwall and her description of it nothing but truthfullness.
Sennen gets pregnant and she expects the dad to stay around, he doesn't and she has to cope all alone with the pregnancy and her family.
It's a beautiful story. And my review on this author have subsequently changed.

My thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for this ebook.

Fern Britton is a very accomplished writer. Her love of Cornwall radiates from the pages. It is the perfect location for her stories. Pendruggan - a delightful Cornish village that harbours a secret. Adela, Sennen and Ella - three women deeply affected by events that occurred more than twenty years ago.

Sennen - a teenage mother who cannot cope with her two children. Runs away in a desperate attempt to locate the father and make a new life. Adela, the mother of Sennen, bereft at her daughter’s disappearance and Ella, the daughter of Sennen and her brother Harry are left to be brought up by their grandparents. When Ella’s grandmother dies Ella returns to Cornwall to start a new life always hopeful that her mother will return one day.

Will Sennen ever come back, has she crated a new life for herself in some far flung location? You will have to read Coming Home to find out.

Beautifully written with heart wrenching moments, the story unfolds over the decades, with characters you will come to love - some more than others!

Thank you Fern for another entertaining read.

This is the first book I have read written by Fern Britton, someone I remember well and enjoyed watching on the TV. Her own personality and humour shone through in this book. The plot is not that remote from family evolution, fracturing and reunification that occurs in many families today.
Her narrative was well thought through and captured the wanderings of a young lost girl who matures into a thoughtful and determined woman and mother. I enjoyed being taken to parts of Europe and Asia where I could dream along with the characters and plot, thinking, what if?
A warm and gratifying read.
My wife said to me at the start that I wouldn't enjoy this book. I proved her wrong. Thanks Fern

Another Cornish romance from Fern Britton. This is a perfect summer read. Based in Cornwall it spans the life of three generations of a family. The book tells about coming home and facing life, the life to come and the life you left behind. A great insight into what makes families work and not work and of course, the emotional roller coaster that inevitably happens
A really enjoyable book, well written. My thanks to Net Galley and HarperCollins for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Another feel good novel from Fern Britton. Her characters become your friends and it is very easy to become immersed in their stories. However, it is not necessary to have read the other books in the series. it does help with continuity if you start from the beginning, although once you start reading about Pendruggan and its inhabitants you will just want to read more.
Teenager Sennen left home in 1993 leaving behind her young son and daughter. Now, 25 years later she wants to return to Cornwall and be reunited with her family - but is it too late?

Having never read anything by Fern Britton before I have to admit to being a bit dubious, was this to be a book published because it’s author was a ‘celebrity’ rather than on the quality of the writing I’d wondered. I am very happy to say I was totally wrong, it was most definitely published on merit. An excellent read, very well written, evoking my own memories of Cornwall and creating a wonderful backdrop of life in India. Fabulous characters, I could have given Henry a slap a few times, but I understood his angst, maybe a tad predictable in places but doesn’t everyone love a happy ending, I know I do. Thoroughly enjoyed this so thanks Net Galley for allowing me to read this preview copy, and thanks Fern, loved it!

From the start the reader’s interest is engaged in the twists and turns of this sensitively written tale. It is beautifully craftedand the imagination fired with wonderfully descriptive pictures of Cornwall. A delight to read!

I do love stories set in Cornwall and sometimes we all need a cosy, warm escape so I do always enjoy one of this author's books. Very easy to read, not troubling or challenging and great to tuck into at the end of the day with tea and cake.
I really like that they're all set in the same village so the same characters pop up so we can keep an eye on them and every time I read one I try to identify where the next story will come from.
Whilst the books do address the human condition and emotional/family storylines - we'd all still love to live in the almost idyllic fantasy that is Trevay.
The really nice characters like Ella are a little unbelievable sometimes because no one is that lovely! But if you put your critical hat aside there is nothing not to enjoy about these books and this one is a great addition.

This is a wonderful read as always by, Fearn. I loved the story, although at first I found it a tad confusing the way it jumped back and forth through time but I soon picked up the concept. It was beautifully told and I felt connected to the characters. If I’m honest, not my favourite book that Fearn has wrote, it felt a bit predictable towards the end but I genuinely enjoyed reading it and felt it was a different angle from Fearn. If you love her style, this may be slightly different but as always, a wonderful read to escape the reality of life.

Another brilliant book from Fern! Don't be put off by the celeb writing a book culture, Fern is an exceptionally talented author and this is the second book I have read of hers and it did not disappoint. Characters from her Pendruggan books are back, but if you haven't read any of the series before it would not matter. The book can be read easily as a one off, as much as part of a series.

Ella and Henry Tallow return to Cornwall, after having had news that their mother Sennen, who disappeared as a teenager, leaving Henry and Ella to be brought up by her parents, has been found and is returning to see them.

The unfolding of family drama, love, sorrow and relationships between parents plays out against a beautiful Cornish landscape with a bit of exotic India thrown into the mix too. This book reminded me of the owrk of writers like Rosamande Pilcher, Mary Wesley and Maeve Binchy that I used to devour in one sitting.

I really enjoyed this book and I was totally absorbed from the first chapter. I loved the characters and when I read the Postcard I just knew that the characters of Ella and Henry would be developed further, and I am so glad they have.

I would definitely give this a 10/10. Another fantastic book from the fabulous Fern Britton!

This is Fern Brittons best novel to date. A thoroughly enjoyable read and I was sad to have finished it! The book spanned three generations and it was easy to become engrossed with their lives. It is a story of regret and eventually joyous reunion, I loved getting to know the characters, very real with believable emotions and reactions. Ella and Henry are the 'abandoned' family of Sennen, who in turn left Bill and Adele to bring up their grandchildren and there is also Sennens new husband and family in India. What a tangled web! The story is mainly set in Cornwall, but travels to India and Europe, there is a real sense of "being, there". I would highly recommend this, a really good read!
