I went on a journey with Angela and experienced her emotions and feelings. It was a story well told and was very enjoyable although it did end a bit abruptly. It was lovely walking around New York and Manhatten with Angela, the descriptions of the places felt real

Absolutely fabulous holiday read ladies
Who doesn't dream of running away and starting a new life half way round the world, well Angela does when her boyfriend is found with his trousers down at her best friends wedding not the end to the day Angela had been in mind
So what do you do? Well in Angela's case hop on a plane to New York and work out how to start again from nothing
This book was a riot it was something every woman dreams of after a major break up and Angela lives that dream or does she ?

Loved this booked.
It was very well written and so funny. Wish I could just up and leave and go experience New York like Angela. I'm definitely going to read the next books in this series

I revisited this book after reading the final one in the series. Wonderful story of someone proving to herself that she can succeed after heartbreak.

I really liked this book. It was quite predictable but fun and easy to read. There were enough turns along the way to make you want to read a few chapters and I read the whole book in a few days. I have downloaded all the other books in the series for holiday as a perfect read for the plane or by the pool.

Mixed reviews. It was a great surprise that I enjoyed the book in the end. At the 20% mark I actually aborted. The storyline was so cliched and unbelievable that I couldnt stop my eyes rolling. Basically, Angela catches her long term boyfriend cheating on her. Instead of discussing this with him like a grown-up, she jumps on a plane to NYC where she checks into an expensive hotel (using her boyfriends joint account), buys expensive designer clothing (with said card), attracts a fairy godmother in the concierge (who has nothing to gain in pandering to a random stranger), gets a makeover from complete strangers and turns into a stunner attracting the attention of gorgeous wealthy and talented men. It makes no sense and is completely unbelievable and insulting to the reader.

However, something made me return to the book and it began to improve and evolve into a sweet love story and exploration of finding your true self and what you want out of life. The characters became a little less shallow and even though I knew how it would end. I was still interested to see how we got there. So if you are willing to stick it out, it becomes a satisfying love story but you have to wade through the rubbish at the beginning.

I heart New York by Lindsey Kelk is a great companion when you are struggling to make life changing decisions. The protagonist just ups and leaves a disappointed life to start a completely new one in another continent without much thought about what next. The ups and down of this move is interesting to read and make the book so difficult to put down.

This was such a fun read! I couldn't wait to pick up the sequel. I Love Hollywood! I connected with Angela straight away and loved the friendships/relationships that she established whilst she was in New York. This is a series that I know I am going to continue to pick up and read!

A very amusing, romantic story. At her best friend’s wedding, Angela discovers her fiancé is having an affair. Having broken the groom’s hand and made the bride cry before the first dance, she decides to leave the country for a while, and jets off to New York. On checking into a hotel, she meets concierge Jenny, who decides to help Angela get her life back together. In less than a week, she’s dating two guys and writing a daily blog for an online magazine.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story as Angela tried to juggle her two dates, her love of New York and the pressure to return home to England. The characters’ personalities were well created and felt real. The New York setting was also well presented and brought to life in the story.

A great read and I can’t wait to start the next book!

Good fun, holiday read or one to curl up with on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon.

The book is fast paced and fun and you do feel you are New York with the telling of the places the characters visit and go.

Will read more from her.

If books about shopping, wealth, fashion, drinking, hangovers, orgasms and the unwitting rivalry of two men for a woman’s heart are your thing, you’ll probably enjoy this book. It’s an easy read, frothy, and the main protagonist is flawed but mostly likeable. The outcome of the contest between the two men was signposted rather too well in that one of the characters never lifted off the paper, being a two dimensional stereotype in contrast to his rival. I do enjoy occasional chick-lit so thought this was worth a shot but think maybe I’m over the target audience age for this one by a good few years! Plenty of people adore Lindsey Kelk books though, so don’t be afraid to give it a try.

This is my second read in the I Heart series and it was just as entertaining as I Heart Hawaii. The way the stories are written make you feel invested bin the characters and what happens to them.. Lots of different thing going, great travels around New York and various dilemmas as to be solved. Great read!

I LOVED this book right from the start. I found myself getting it out even when I knew I didn’t have time to read a full chapter (I don’t like stopping half way through a chapter!!) because I just wanted to know what happened next.

Some of my glee can be attributed to loving New York and loving the idea of just upping and leaving for a whole new country - what an exciting prospect. I didn’t love the fact that our main character was seeing more than one man at once but I guess thats just me. I did like the fact that she wasn’t one of these annoying characters who - despite being given a poor hand - goes back for more!!! I definitely wanted to see who she ended up with

And Jenny. Oh how I loved Jenny. We all want a friend like her and the fate of being thrown into her path was perfect.

I didn’t really want this book to end and will look out for the others. A great read

I absolutely love Lindsey Kelk. Her I heart series is brilliant, and this instalment is great. I love New York and reading about it, seeing it used as a backdrop to a great rom-com is perfect. Excellent read and thoroughly recommended!

Well that was a disappointment.

As loath as I am to use the expression "chick lit" this book falls slap bang in the middle of that category.

This tells the story of Angela, who in the day of her best friends wedding finds out that her own fiancee has been having an affair with another woman for months. Hurt that everyone seemed to know but her, Angela decides to flee the country and head to New York for a holiday with just an overnight bag and a credit card.

Spoilers ahead!

Upon landing in New York, Angela gets in a cab and asks to go to any hotel. The cab driver takes her to The Union - trendy hotel frequented by celebs, where she meets concierge Jenny who takes it upon herself to help Angela overcome her breakup. Jenny literally takes control of Angela's life, arranging for her to see a stylist, taking her shopping and buying a whole new wardrobe and giving her a make over. Armed with her new look Angela heads off to the coffee shop where she immediately gets hit on by the cute waiter who all the girls lust after. A day later she goes out with her new friends (that she has known the sum total of 48 hours) and is immediately hit on by an attractive banker, Tyler, with a coveted black amex card. And yet, the following day she goes for coffee with one of Jenny's friends to discuss the 'dating rules' when she is, once more, hit on by a guy from an indie band, Alex. Really??

Angela then starts dating both Tyler and Alex, separating their dates by mere hours. After two or three days, Jenny from the hotel asks Angela to move in to her apartment with her and also manages to find her the perfect job - writing a blog about her life in New York for a big magazine. In no time at all, Angela has gone from dutiful fiancee to a man she's been with for 10 years, to sleeping with one man while dating and desperate to sleep with another. Couple this with being almost always drunk or tipsy and having daily walks of shame and you are left with a character that you just don't care enough about. And if I have to hear about the 'fabulous' Marc Jacobs bag ever again I am likely to scream!!!

It is totally inconceivable that you can turn up at a hotel, cry to the receptionist and be buried under the weight of a ton of freebie cookies and biscuits before being whisked around a new city by the receptionist who is suddenly your best friend. Jenny is an annoying character anyway as she dishes out trite advice straight from the pages of a self help book while completely ignoring the advice when it comes to her own love life. Both Tyler and Alex are unrealistic and are caricatures at best - Tyler being the smooth talking, romantic who showers Angela with expensive gifts while not being interested in a proper relationship, and Alex is cast as the serial shagger who now wants a proper relationship because Angela is so amazing.

By the end of the book it is fairly obvious who she is going to choose but by that point you no longer care. If you are looking for a simple holiday read then this is perfect for reading by the pool while sipping your cocktail - other than that don't bother.

A very light hearted and readable book. I usually read crime or thrillers so this was a nice change doesn't need much concentration but very pleasant

At the wedding from hell Angela finds herself running away from her selfish cheating boyfriend. Needing to get away from all the negativity she finds herself on a plane to New York with not much more than her bridesmaid dress, her designer shoes and a whole heap of attitude.

It is never going to be the most realistic story but armed with her new best friend Jenny Angela takes on New York finding two gorgeous suitors and a successful blog that is starting to get her noticed.

If you're looking for a fun read on your summer holiday you could do a lot worse than packing this and its sequels to while away the days in the sun.

I love this series, I am 100% biased and happy to admit it. This is the first book where we get to meet the main character Angela for the first time. Where she goes to New York on a sudden impulse after a friends wedding, the fun and romance starts there. This a great fun series with a loveable lead

Lindsay Kelk is the kind of author you want as your best bud!

She has created a fantastic story in the I Heart series and it was wonderful to go back and reread the original again, after so many years!

Here we meet Angela Clark for the first time and tumble into her world of craziness. After thinking she had everything she wanted, great job, wonderful boyfriend, her world comes tumbling down after finding her boyfriend in an extremely unflattering and uncompromising situation.

She runs away to New York, and immerses herself in the single world once more, meeting people who become solid friends, and she finds herself falling in love again... But is the path to true love ever smooth?

Highly recommended for a light-hearted, hilarious read, with characters who will ensnare you and leave you wanting more. Thank goodness this was only the first book... there are seven more!
