Her frozen heart by Lulu Taylor.
Caitlyn, there’s something I have to tell you. About Sara.
Caitlyn thinks her marriage to Patrick is a success. For one thing, he is one of the few people not to fall head over heels for her beautiful friend, Sara. Life is lived on his terms, but they are happy.
Aren’t they?
When a devastating accident turns her existence upside down, Caitlyn is forced to reassess everything she thought about her marriage, what she truly knows about Patrick, and his real feelings for her best friend. In the refuge of an old manor house, she begins to discover the truth.
In 1947, the worst winter in decades hits England, cutting off entirely the inhabitants of Kings Harcourt Manor. For Tommy Carter, widowed at the start of war, it is particularly hard: the burden of the family falls on her. She has the solace of her children, and the interesting presence of her brother’s friend, Fred. But there is also Barbara, a mysterious figure from her past who appears to want a piece of Tommy’s future as well.
A really good read. Loved the cover. 4*.

This story wasn't for me sorry. The premise though was enticing and drew me in but didn't really deliver.

Unfortunately I just could not get into this book. It may be one for other readers, but I was unable to finish it.

Enjoyable story of one house set in two time periods, and as the book progresses we learn the link between the characters. Each time period has a woman as main character, and they ae both written so that we do care about what happens to them. Each of these women has an extremely irritating nemesis/enemy - two more women, who are well portrayed as 'baddies' but in different ways.
The book was sufficiently well written for me to care about how each of these conflicts would be resolved, and I was happy to carry on reading to find out.
I was sufficiently interested to look for other books by this author, but it does look as though the same formula does get repeated, which put me off a little.

This book, although not my usual kind of genre, captured me from the start. I absolutely loved it. The long winding tale was simply sublime.

Slightly slow and hard to get into but a lovely story about two different families and their story about family honour love and values. An enjoyable read, thank you

Her Frozen Heart is a very well written and well structured book, split between two different eras that have their own differences and similarities. Both women have to pull strength from within to deal with what life has thrown at them. I found the book to be really enjoyable and struggled to put it down.

Thank you to Lulu Taylor, NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Why did I wait so long to read this book. It was excellent. A really well written exciting read that had me spellbound all the way through. Will definitely be reading more by her.

I have read and loved all of Lulu Taylor's previous books so I was keen to read this one. I was not disappointed, it was fabulous.

I love how cleverly she writes in two different periods- one in the present day and the other in the 1940s - yet the plots are interwoven by the house Kings Harcourt. I quickly became immersed in the characters and both of their stories. Both stories are full of intrigue and twists and turns which kept me gripped and guessing right until the end. Excellent manipulative villains in both of the stories.

Highly recommended - I loved it!

Set in two different times with two different heroines. Plots like this can be a little confusing but Lulu seems to have got it right. Heartrending and thrilling all at the same time with some characters you’ll love to hate. Recommended.

No-one's marriage is quite what it seems Caitlyn realises when an accident robs her of the life she thought she knew. Years earlier, another marriage and another danger are brewing. Good read about marriage, friends, and betrayal.

In the present day Caitlin appears to have the perfect life....a handsome and successful husband, a son she adores and a beautifully stylish home. But when Patrick dies suddenly she realises he was keeping secrets. What was his relationship with her best friend , the beautiful and vivacious Sara? Does she want to learn the truth? And if the truth is his betrayal how can she ever give him?
In 1947 a bitter winter has cut Tommy and her family off from the outside world. She and her family have offered a place to stay to her brothers best friend Fred and also her old school mate Barbara and her daughter. But while Tommy works hard to keep the family warm and fed she begins to wonder what Barbara is up to, whispering in here family's ears....

This novel is extremely readable! Just what you'd want from a book of course but I found this so really enjoyable. There's no pretension - the writer knows how to write a good story and deliver it well. So why not 5 stars? Well without giving massive spoilers I can't say exactly. All I can say is the 'reveal' of one of the stories, for me, was just a bit too unbelievable. I raised my eyebrows so much my family thought I'd had a facelift. But still, despite that it's a fantaso

Thanks to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Her Frozen Heart goes between chapters from Tommy's POV and Caitlyn's POV. Tommy's chapters are set during a very cold, snowy winter in 1947. Caitlyn's chapters are set now, in Oxford, after her husband was killed in a traffic accident.

I really enjoyed this book. It took a while to get the two stories merged but they merged nicely by the end. It's also hard to write much about this without giving out spoilers but I will say this book was very well written, Taylor finished chapters on cliffhangers to make me keep reading more even though I had things to do and really should've put the book down. This is my first experience of Taylor and I would definitely read some of her other novels now.

Her Frozen heart is a romantic drama/mystery about two widowed women separated by time who have endured heartbreak and loss. They are similiar in temperament and strength and are connected by house they call a home. Lulu Taylor weaves a beautiful story of resilience and love and is an ideal winter read.

A story about 2 women from different times - one from 1940 and one in the present day and both recently widowed. This was not my type of book at all and I generally don't enjoy historical fiction so not for me I'm afraid. The story is nicely written with a few surprises and a bit of atmospheric suspense but not really my type of read.

This book cleverly weaves two stories of widowed women in different era’s. One set in the 40’s at the end of the war and one in the present day. Whilst the two stories are initially poles apart, their lives become linked through a series of events and centre around an old family home.
Well written psychological thriller, mixed with an old fashioned romance. Personally, whilst I found the romantic elements a nice read, they were fairly predictable. The thriller elements were slightly harder to second guess.
Having said that, I really enjoyed reading the book, I read it in less than a day and would give it a 4/5.
Thank you to Netgalley, Pan Macmillan and Lulu Taylor for the opportunity to review this book.

I found this book a little slow to get going but when it did I couldn't put it down, couldn't wait to find out what was happening next. Set between two time zones the 1947 and present day the story of two strong women joins together perfectly, some surprising little twists at the end - brilliant book highly recommend

I absolutely adored this book; the two stories stood alone very nicely and each drew the reader in with great success, before eventually knitting together rather perfectly towards the end.
