Loved this book could not put it down, just as good, if not better than 'Lies'. Sarah is offered the chance to solve the problem with her boss with a 29 second phone call. It gets very tense with an unexpected twist. I would highly recommend this thriller.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to preview this book.

It’s an OK read. Mainly predictable, but, with a good twist at the end. The story is about Sarah, an intelligent, capable woman, who's life and career are negatively impacted by the unwanted advances of a male colleague.
Given the opportunity to make him disappear.....what does she do?

The book meandered somewhat for me, but, it's a well told tale.

This book was just one word dull.
As I started reading this book I was hoping for some action and at least know what the story is about but there was nothing.
It never gripped me and it was a real let down. Maybe you have to keep reading. I don't know, but it was not for me sorry.

Wow what a cracking start to my new year reading, I loved this.I stayed up much too late and read this as fast as I could .I liked the main character and was almost holding my breath at times as well as trying to read to find out what was going to happen.I found this book to be very original and makes you think as well, what would you do if someone in your life could be disappeared without any come back, we all have people who have done or are doing us wrong, but have they done us enough wrong that we would take this option, and how would we be left feeling if we did? I didn't know what was going to happen and really enjoyed reading this book, no spoilers but I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a thriller with a difference.I thought it was really good.Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for an ARC.

Well, I thought I had done with my book total for 2017 but, having finished my last book during the afternoon of New Year's Eve, obviously I picked up another one thinking that I would just start it and finish it off as my first book of 2018. Well, that didn't exactly go to plan as it wasn't long before I was totally immersed in it. Luckily I am not one for going out on NYE and so I carried on, finishing it not long before the fireworks started and I welcomed in the New Year.
Oh what a tangled web we weave... and Sarah does get herself into a bit of a situation in this book. She's a hard working mother of two, that side of her life is ticking along mostly OK. At work however things are a bit different. She has the worst boss imaginable. He really is a nasty piece of work with his sexual advances and his tit for tat attitude of "you give me what I want" every time Sarah is poised to advance in her career. Problem is, he's been like this for years and, due to his position and standing, not to mention the money he brings in to the University, any attempt to take her issues through the right channels is pretty pointless and also detramental.
One day, Sarah is driving and she spots a situation and comes to the aid of a young girl who she perceives to be in danger. She reports this to the Police but they find no further evidence of wrong doing so that investigation fades away. But she knows what she saw and she can't understand it. Then, one day, her actions are rewarded. It appears that she has done right by a very powerful man who insists that he is now in her debt and he gives her a rather interesting, one time only, time limited offer; an offer that could really help her. An offer she initially refuses to even contemplate but then, on reflection, along with more frustration, one she accepts. But things are never as easy as they seem. Could this be too good to be true?
As already mentioned, once I started this book I really couldn't put it down. I got emotionally involved right from the start and to say my hackles rose with what was happening would be a bit of a understatement. Luckily, I have never been in Sarah's situation personally but I do know others who have and reading her story just made me so angry, for her and for the people I know. I really felt for Sarah as she made the decision. Yes I know, but really, if you've never been that desperate, that powerless, that angry, well, I know we all have people that we would prefer not to be part of our lives anymore and I know this is an extreme reaction but, who wouldn't be just a little bit tempted...
The story really kicks off, when things suddenly take a wrong turn and here's where it really gets clever. This isn't a spoiler because obviously if things ran smooth, it'd be a pretty short and pointless book, but the way that the author achieves what happens next has to be applauded. Not only for the direction it takes but also the scene setting and dark, claustrophobic atmosphere that is created. The way that that one decision literally snowballs, the situation growing as it gains speed, culminating in a really rather special kind of ending as Sarah is sucked deeper and deeper into a situation that although of her making, shouldn't have been so hands on!
Having already read and enjoyed the author's debut, Lies, I see that, in this book, he has continued the theme of putting ordinary people into extraordinary situations and sitting back and watching what happens. Kind of like a social experiment. In fact, after looking it up, I see that I started my review for Lies with the words "One decision and its repercussions" This same phrase could easily have been the opener for this review too.
This sort of thriller really suits me and I really can't wait to see what he serves up next time. My thanks go to the Publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book.

A very hot Sunday afternoon here in Sydney today so I sat in air conditioned comfort and read this entire book. It was a story that hooks you from the very start and does not let go until the last page.

Sarah is a character with a lot going on in her life... her husband has disappeared leaving her with the 2 young children. Her boss is a disgusting sleaze of a man who has friends in all the right places. But this does not stop her from stopping to help a young girl in trouble on her way home from work one night. This act of kindness leads her to a decision that changes her life... and not necessarily for the best.

A fast paced story that you won't want to put down. Thanks to Bonnier Zagreb via NetGalley for a copy of this book to read in exchange for my honest opinions

What a way to turn a simple premise about an intolerable boss completely on its head.

Sarah works at the local university but things aren't going well for her. She's consistently being passed over for promotion and her creepy boss has made it quite clear that her circumstances will only change if she sleeps with him. Her boss' reputation is a well known secret all around campus but he brings in lots of money and the dean refuses to rock that particular boat. Sadly, Sarah's situation is highly realistic and believable. It's also incredibly frustrating and makes you angry at the injustice of it all.

So, what if you were given the opportunity to get rid of someone who's making your life utterly miserable in every way? When Sarah rescues the daughter of a dangerous criminal, he offers to repay the debt the only way he knows how to. And all it takes is a simple 29 seconds long phone call.

"Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear."

Oooh, moral dilemma. Now, okay, maybe this is a tad far-fetched and it requires suspending belief for a bit but it's also incredibly thrilling and it makes you think. That old adage of "what would you do?". Because as it says in the book description, we all have a name to give, don't we? Will she? Or won't she? You'll have find out for yourself.

This is one rollercoaster ride of suspense that had me guessing until the end. I was rooting for Sarah all the way, wondering what she would do, thinking things through with her. 29 Seconds is one of those books where you find yourself swiping the pages faster and faster, desperately needing to know the outcome. T.M. Logan has delivered another hugely entertaining, tense and gripping psychological thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed his previous offering Lies, but in my opinion, this one is even better and I very much look forward to more from this author!

I loved Lies the debut novel by T.M. Logan that was published last year as you will be able to tell if you read my review HERE

So I was delighted to get an early copy of 29 Seconds from netgalley and I managed to escape from the hustle and bustle of Christmas to cuddle up with it so I could give it my undivided attention. And boy was I glad that I did as this is one of those books that you won’t want to put down! From the opening prologue, I was drawn into this intriguing dilemma for Sarah. If she was able to give a name of someone that could then disappear forever would she do it?

I think we’ve all wanted someone who’s upset us or a loved one to vanish off the face of the earth but could we really go through with it if we had the chance? Especially if no one were ever to know what we had done? This is the decision faced by Sarah when she’s offered the chance to get rid of her vile boss by a man who’s daughter she has rescued from a kidnapping attempt. And her boss is the sort of misogynist dinosaur that any woman would want to disappear especially as he seems hell bent on making life as difficult as possible at work for Sarah with his sexual harassment of her and other women. The author uses our hatred of this man to encourage our support of Sarah in her decision, which obviously is a difficult one for her as a law abiding mother of two young children. And when things don’t go quite as planned, Sarah has an unexpected ally to support her with some sound advice…..advice that may lead to her own downfall though.

I loved the “runaway train” feel to this book. Once Sarah had made her decision she had no control of the outcome of her 29 Seconds of madness. I liked the character of Sarah, I’m not saying I agreed with the path she followed but as a fellow victim of sexual harassment in the workplace I do understand how desperate you can become to find a way to stop it. T.M. Logan writes with a depth of understanding of Sarah’s situation which complimented the fact paced narrative as she gets sucked deeper into the consequences formed by her decision. I really enjoy the way this author takes normal everyday families and throws them into moral dilemmas they have no experience of and then sits back to watch how they cope with the emotional impact.

29 Seconds is an unputdownable and gripping thriller with a likeable protagonist and I can thoroughly recommend it!

That was an exciting thriller with some great twists and turns.

It`s about making decisions and their consequences. If you are not 100% behind your decision, then let it go..... Otherwise, you can be in even more trouble than before...

Sarah's individual and moral development was interesting to read. It was like sitting in a roller coaster and driving through different stages of moral development.

I really liked the way she solved her problem at the end. It was completely unexpected.

Give me one name. One person. And I will make them disappear . . .

Sarah is a hard working, dedicated and accomplished academic, but all her hard work will soon be for nothing if she doesn't do something about her situation. Her serial predator of a boss has made it increasingly clear he is all powerful in his position at the university in which he and Sarah both work. He has all the university big wigs in his pocket. His influence is so great that the only way for her to now keep her job or even hope to work at another university, is to provide him with the sexual favours he's been harassing her over for the past two years.

When Sarah rescues a young girl in trouble, she inadvertently puts a powerful and dangerous man in her debt. He lives by his own ruthless code of honour, and according to him, this debt must be repaid.

He offers Sarah a once-off deal that will make her biggest problems disappear. No consequences. No comeback. No chance of being found out. All it takes is a 29 second phone call to him with a name.

Because everyone has a name to give. Don't they?

For Sarah, that name comes easily enough!

But will she take this powerful man up on his offer?

Sarah's situation is certainly thought provoking and had me questioning myself, whether if I were approached with the same proposition, who would that someone be that I'd like to have magically disappear. Everyone has that someone right?

With a clever, original story line and colourful characters, some you root for instantly and others that make your blood boil and skin crawl, this will have you captivated from beginning to end!

It is a true page turner, intense and entertaining all the way with its unexpected surprises and slick twists.

I give it ALL the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️'s!!!

I am so looking forward to reading more by T.M. Logan!

Many thanks to Netgalley, Bonnier Zaffre and the author for the opportunity of reading an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. The pleasure was all mine.

I really enjoyed this author's debut novel, so I was eager to read this. Unfortunately I found it quite difficult to connect with the voice of the story, and therefore the main character,

That said, this is an interesting story that reveals some of the darkest sides of human interaction. Worth a read for fans of this genre, and it will keep you guessing throughout.

Loved Lies, and was certainly not disappointed with 29 seconds.
Completely captivating from start to finish, full of twists and turns with no way to guess what will happen next, just could not put it down.
Can't wait for more from this author, who's now in my top ten.

Thank you Netgalley, TM Logan, and Bonnfer Zaffre for allowing me to read and review this book.

I went into this story totally blindly, only lured by the intriguing title, and am glad that I did. 29 seconds of what? The clock is ticking .... I will try to write this review without giving anything away, since this story very much relies on its original premise and the surprises it holds in store.

Our main protagonist is Sarah, an accomplished academic in her early thirties, whose career is being thwarted by members of the “old boys club” at the university she is working at. Her boss is a sexual predator of the worst kind, lording his power over all female employees and exploiting his position to garner sexual favours. All the women know it, but unless they want to jeopardise their careers they feel powerless to do anything about it. The last woman who lodged a complaint with HR lost her job, her reputation and her sanity. Sarah, who has been hoping for a well-earned promotion, has so far successfully avoided being in that position, but lately the man has made it clear that he expects some favours from her as well. How can she say no and still keep her job? Who can she turn to when everyone is in his pocket? Something needs to be done. And sometimes help comes from the most unexpected direction ....

Logan does well to get the reader emotionally involved in the story, and I felt an intense burning anger a few pages into the book, as it becomes clear that Sarah has her back against the wall. Slowly stoking the fire with mounting injustices, the story may have been off to a bit of a slow start with its direction a bit unclear – until BAM! – there it was, the big twist that made the story both original as well as very intriguing. With my boiler already on full red alert I experienced the same gut reaction Sarah must have felt when confronted with her unusual situation. And just to make it all more interesting, there are a few ethical dilemmas along the way. Have I wetted your appetite yet? No, I will not say any more about the plot, except that the 29 seconds of the title may change Sarah’s life. 29 second of what? You will have to read it to find out. It does rely a tiny bit of the reader’s ability to suspend disbelief, but then again, we live in a strange world where strange thing happen, so who says it’s not possible?

29 Seconds may be a bit of a slow burner at the start, but don’t be fooled – this is a very clever and original thriller that will have you questioning a few ethical and moral dilemmas along the way. It took a few unexpected turns that had me on edge, wondering how it would turn out in the end – and then I was still wrong in my guesses. This is the perfect book to pick up if you want a thriller with an original premise and some clever twists!

In the current climate of women finding our voices, publicly speaking out about institutional sexual abuse and exploitation this book could have been a message of hope to thousands of women. Unfortunately, instead it just doesn't work on any level, the perpetrator may have been unmasked but for all the wrong reasons and fabricated crimes, effectively preventing several women seeing justice for their horrifying experiences.

Sarah is a Dr at the University. She seems to have it all. Lovely house, 2 children, great job. Or does she? What would you do if your boss told you in order to keep your job you have to sleep with him? This book was fantastic. It had me hooked from the 1st page. So much so before i new it i was 30% through after just starting it. It will have you on the edge of your seat. Never knowing whats coming next. It really is a great read.

Thank you Net Galley, Bonnier Zaffre and TM Logan for allowing me to read this novel subject to an honest review.

Utterly brilliant book from start to finish. The story follows Sarah as she struggles to further her career with her boss trying to sexual harass her at every possible opportunity. The characters are well developed and utterly believable. Sarah struggles with trying to do the right thing but is desperate to keep her job.

Saving a child’s life gives her an opportunity to deal with the situation and a 29 second phone call starts the ball rolling towards a cleverly plotted finale.

Luckily, I was on holiday so managed to read it in one sitting. Excellent. Strongly recommended.

I was a huge fan of TM Logan's first novel "Lies", so I had high hopes for this. I was not disappointed. It was thrilling, gripping and the twists and turns left me guessing the whole time! I ended up staying up til 3am finishing this off, as I could not put it down. 5 stars, fantastic

This is one of those books where you race through going 'just one more chapter' and before you know it you've (sadly) reached the end. Loved it.
