Thank you for approving the title for me. I managed to creep myself out like I haven't for a while! So much fun.

I enjoyed this book, it was easy to read and held my attention. I will be reading more from this author :)

There was twists and turns galore in this thrilling read, and I can't wait to read the next one in the series. Lars Kepler has become a very accomplished author, and one of my favorites. Recommended.

This wildly violent novel set in Sweden is the stuff that nightmares are made of. A serial killer is on the rampage, hideously murdering his victims in the most disturbing ways.
This book no doubt left me feeling a little shaken and it is the first in the series that I have had the pleasure of reading. I will certainly be reading more from Lars Kepler.

I was new to Lars kepler and Joona Linna so was a bit surprised when I realised (after finishing it) that this was the 6th instalment of this series. However, this stands alone well. From the start of the book I was getting a little confused as they story kept introducing new characters and I wasn't really following a lead character, but it all become clear - perhaps hardened readers would have got to grips with it a bit quicker.
However, I stuck with this and glad I did. As mentioned it does chop around a bit from start to middle but once the scene is fully set the pace and tension just keep on increasing until it reaches a simmering finish.
I thought the story was finished off well with a nerve-jangling finale, alebeit in a slightly predictable conclusion (which is what you get when you have a main character to continue in a series I guess).
I didn't quite get the atmosphere of say a Ragnar Jonassen thriller - who uses the setting of Iceland to create the rugged, scenic scenes, but this was more at times to do with keeping the pace going and in reality is not criticism at all.
I highly recommend this book. 5 stars from me.

It would be impossible to rate this book too highly. Lars Kepler is the master of his craft. Three dimensional characters whom we have grown to love over his previous books although complete in themselves to be read in isolation. All with flaws, doubts and weaknesses that have only reinforced our perception that their strengths will result in the solving of a mystery with a heart stopping conclusion. Joona, languishing in prison. Saga the unique police goddess his trusty sidekick. recognising without his expertise there can be no resolution to the mayhem and murder unfolding. Several incidents all apparently unrelated, and an event many years ago that had traumatised, brutalised or destroyed the lives of those involved. Is this terrorism in its most cold blooded enactment or something totally outside the knowledge of those targeted with finding those responsible. A five star rating for this complex and fascinating story that is impossible to put down. Finally a mention of the last page which can only leave us, his devoted readers enslaved in his ability to heighten anticipation for hopefully his next book; sooner rather than later please.

Another great Joona Linna story. I love these books. Exciting action and clever twists. Joona is the ideal anti-hero - a flawed but brilliant detective.

I received an electronic version of this book as a free advance copy and I have to say I enjoyed every minute of it. The story centres on a twisted killer working ruthlessly to his own agenda, and the only man who can stop him is police detective Joona Linna. Although this is the sixth book in the series it was my first encounter with Jonna and his past has very much determined where he is when the story starts. However I didn't find that it affected my reading of the story and has only made me more keen to dive into the first five books to find out what happened to him. One of the best books I have read in a long time.

A great story that kept me gripped from the start. Even though the killer was identified way before 5he end it did not detract from 5he story but was written in such a way that it added enthusiasm to finish sh reading.
I have tried reading Swedish books before and apart from Steig Larson I have found them too often to be gruesome for the sake of it and not great stories. This was an amazing read and I can’t wait to read other books by this very talented author.

Lars Kepler does it again with the next installment for Joona Linna. It was a slow starter with Joona and Saga possibly not as involved as usual...? Well, it seemed that way to me as we spent much of the time developing the story around the killer. Regardless, there's more than one creepy murder, here, with the Rabbit Hunter stalking and killing high ranking, difficult to reach, people. But what links them? That's for Joona to figure out.
The one thing that always makes me chuckle in this series is that the women are always beautiful. The most beautiful you've ever seen (Saga). I noticed it in previous books but it is a recurring theme that feels slightly juvenile. That's the only knock I can make against this book. It has great tension and it's packed full of suspense and angst. Just what you would expect from the talented Lars Kepler and you will not be disappointed. Maybe not for you if you dislike a bit of gore and violence?

There was never any question as to whether I would enjoy this or not, this is my favourite book series and they just keep getting better! Bring on the next one...

Wow another great read from the writers known as Lars Kepler
Joona Linna never fails to amaze me with his inginuity when it comes to reading the mind of a killer
A dark and disturbing novel that takes the reader into the very disturbed mind of a muderer
The plot kept me guessing right up to the point when the killer was revealed
I will definitely recommend this book to others and I hope that Joona Linna will continue to solve cases

This is a gripping brilliant read that had me hooked from the start. I had chills down my spine in places. Great characters and great build up of suspense.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Lars Kepler is a pseudonym for two authors and it would take two minds to concoct this story. Based in what has become, through books and television, the murder setting of the world,it describes the plot of a mass murderer which is based on a false assumption about the treatment years before of his mother by a bunch of entitled, arrogant schoolboys. It is brutal and sadistic and pointless as the murderer has got it all wrong. That deprives the reader of any sense of justice having been served.

What can I say?
Another amazing book, this one sees Joona released from prison to catch The Rabbit Hunter.
Fast paced and throughly entertaining from the very start until the last twist
It’s simply a must read
Makes The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo pale in comparison

Yet again I’m forced to gobble up a book in only 24 hours. I have enjoyed Joona Linna’s journey thus far and especially this dramatic and gruesome adventure. The story begins at a slow pace, leading you up the first blind alley; the implication of a terrorist plot. Joona quickly identifies the real challenge, that of a serial killer focused on a dark historic secret and, helped by Saga Bauer, again identifies the protagonist. Unlike many other crime writers, there is no rush to a happy ending here and, whilst Joona does track down the killer, the unfortunate sequence of events is allowed to play out.
Lars Kepler goes from strength to strength and continues to produce excellent, believable yet disturbing, storylines. They are a talented writing partnership and I look forward to their next production. Thank you for early sight of this book.

This is the 6th book in the Lars Kepler series featuring Detective Joona Lina and Superintendent Saga Bauer but its the first book of the series I have read, I defo should have read the other 5 as I thought in some parts it was confusing as they made lots of references to things that had happened previously and so in parts I felt a bit lost really, Its not a standalone I don't think and I would say read the others first even though in itself this is a cracking read you'll be better off reading the others first to get the history behind it all.
It was a seriously scary and creepy read and I slept with the big light on hahahaha the serial killer stalks his victims mercilessly and I think he's one of the most frightening characters I have come across in a long time, he enjoys his work I will say that much, a great read I am off to get the other 5 books in the series now before this one lol
5 stars

Sorry I couldn't finish it. I think I needed to read the previous ones first as there was quite a lot of references to what has happened previously.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review. I have not read the other books in this series but was so excited to get this book, I’m overlooking this dilemma!!!
A viscous killer called the rabbit hunter is stalking his victims in a cold brutal fashion. Loved this book and was fully immersed in this book and will definitely read the other books now!!
Not for the faint hearted as this is brutal and creepy but very well written and kept me on the edge of my seat!!

When a high profile politician is killed in odd circumstances the first thought is that this is a terrorist plot. Disgraced Detective Joona Lina is released from prison to contact the suspected terrorist's family but is proves a bloody dead end. Meanwhile celebrity chef Rex is trying to stay on the wagon and build a relationship with his son but the politician's death brings back horrible memories of his time at school. How is this linked to a killer who is obsessed with rabbits and one nursery rhyme in particular.
Lars Kepler is a rather idiosyncratic writer of thrillers. His books always follow a pattern of blind alleys after a shocking start and just when the reader thinks the book is going nowhere, the pace is ramped up and the action becomes almost unbearable. This book was no different and just as fabulous.
