Unfortunately this book was not for me. I had initially marked it as 'will not be giving feedback on this title' instead of writing a review, but since not writing a review affects my overall feedback ratio - which does not seem fair since I read the book and simply didn't enjoy it and don't see the point of writing a review - I am changing it to a 'review' for the sake of not having unfinished books sitting on my shelves and dragging my ratio down. Since I'm simply doing this for Netgalley, I won't be rating or reviewing this book on Goodreads or elsewhere.

Rachel and Anthony. She’s a florist and he is a fraud detective looking into her ex-fiancé. Starts out fine, but gets bogged down a bit with descriptions. Tended to skim a bit at times. Still kept my interest to find out the ending though. Would recommend.

I enjoyed this book. It was a very easy quick read with a story that was simple to follow but it was lacking any depth.

I didn't need to concentrate on it, so was perfect to read over the hectic Christmas period.

Sometimes there are books that just get pushed down your TBR without any good reason. ‘Meet Me Under The Mistletoe’ is that kind of book for me. I planned on reading this book in last year’s HoHoHo Readathon, but didn’t get to it. I forgot about it again, but this year I decided to try again for this years Readathon.. and I finally read it.

In ‘Meet Me Under The Mistletoe’ we meet Rachel Jones. Rachel works in her own little flower shop making beautiful bouquets every day. After her fiancé ended being a fraud, she tries to stay away from man. But when the handsome detective Anthony Bascombe moves into the apartment above her shop she instantly feels an connection. But Anthony has his downsides, for one he doesn’t do relationships and secondly he doesn’t celebrate Christmas. But there is something between them that they both can’t deny.

Let’s start with saying I love this book cover. It’s just so pretty and Christmassy, I just love it. If I would have seen this book lying in a bookshop, this cover would definitely make me want to grab it.

The writing in this book isn’t what I expected. It didn’t read as nicely as I would have hoped for a Christmas read. The writing is very descriptive. They did that, they did this.. and the story didn’t flow really all that well if you ask me. There were some parts in this book that ended rather abruptly and it just confused me a little bit.

But with that being said, there was something about this book that made me want to keep on reading. The characters were definitely a plus. Main character Rachel Jones was fun to read about. I loved how unique she was and how much she cared for other people. Anthony’s character was also fun. Although he seemed this tough guy, there was this almost childlike charm to him that I enjoyed.

Add the Christmas parts, and I still found this book very enjoyable. I wouldn’t necessarily want to read more from this author.. but this was still an enjoyable Christmas read.

Super fun and funny holiday romance. I definitely enjoyed this, although it felt a little weighted to the last third or so of the book for the action. The characters are fun and charming, there’s not a lot of drama and back and forth, it’s actually quite refreshing. And what a holiday!

I started this but didn't finish. Wasn't especially gripped by the characters or set-up but maybe I will return to it one day,

It took me some time to get into this story. I didn't like the MC at first, thought she was too gullible. I wanted to give the book three chapters before bailing on it, but then I liked it. Liked it so much, I read it in one sitting.

Review: This was fantastic. I had not read any of Carla's books before but loved the concept of the plot after reading the blurb. Imagine a handsome detective only to realise that he is looking for you ex!

Rachel is a lovely heroine and is blissful to most of what her ex actually does but what she didn't expect was a detective to turn up. The flower shop is a beautiful setting for a romance to play out and magical at Christmas. Anthony is dreamy but with the complication of his work will he find romance this Christmas. I wont give anything away as it is such a beautiful story with added bonus of a little humour.

It is written well and is an easy read. The plot flows and as each chapter ends you cant help but think just one more.

I can't wait to read more from Carla!

Late to the game on reviewing this one. I loved it and such an amazing Christmas read

This book was the perfect read in the run up to Christmas! It captures all of your senses and encourages the excitement of Christmas. Christmas tree shopping, Turkey in the oven and presents under the tree- it has the recipe for a good Christmas story. Throw in a bit of romance and some mini disasters and I couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this title even if it was slightly predictable, but I read it within a few days.

I've read quite a few Christmas books in the build up to the festive period and this was another lovely read.

The cover is the first thing that attracts you and it is equally matched by the warm hearted story within the pages.

I found it to be a nice easy read and would definitely read other books by the author.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for my copy of the book in exchange for my honest review. I loved the cover of this book, it looks all Christmassy and like a cute little village.

I liked the characters, although I did find Rachel a little unbearable when she first met Anthony. She was OTT and a little grating but she grew on me. She was funny, kind, caring and full of love for everyone. The chemistry between them was very full on and intense. Anthony was a true gent, with polite manners and old fashioned ways. I liked him, although he was a bit untruthful to begin with.

The big thing I liked about this book is that we see how the characters from two books that the author has also written, Stuck With You (Elena and Daniel) and Marry Me Tomorrow (Emily and Sam). I thought it was a fantastic little touch.

The writing style in this book is easy to follow, with no complicated character connections or unnecessary dialogue. It flowed smoothly and was a nice, quick read. I read in just over a day and I’m pleased it was a short book. it wouldn’t have worked any better as a longer book.

What I did find a little irritating, and what’s made me mark the book down is the beginning of it. I really didn’t like the beginning of it. With how quickly Rachel and Anthony got involved kind of bugs me… It wasn’t really an ideal beginning but I’m glad the rest of the book wasn’t so forced.

While it was an enjoyable story, the beginning put me off. For this, I’m giving it 3 out of 5.

This was a heartwarming delightful Christmas read full of charming characters and wonderfully descriptive settings. The overall story was sweet and absolutely lovely for this time of year. The ending came too soon for me and I really hope the author returns to the world soon as I very much enjoyed her writing.

Heartwarming Christmassy romance read. I enjoyed this book.

It was a quick and easy festive story about romance, love and trust in a lovely setting. I enjoyed the chemistry between the lead characters and the writing style of the author.

I recommend this book for a cosy afternoon on the sofa with a cuppa.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I can honestly say I enjoyed this book. It did take me a while to get into, mainly because I took a while to warm to Anthony, the male lead. Maybe that was because Anthony had commitment issues. The female lead, Rachel, was easy to like. This is a Christmas read that as well as making you feel warm and cosy, has a bit more depth to it, due to the sub-plot surrounding Rachel's ex, as well as the storyline involving Bobbi, Rachel's assistant. I can easily recommend this book.

I had such high hopes for this one, based on the description and cover, but I couldn't get past the first chapter. The entire first chapter is a conversation between two characters, just back and forth dialogue. There's very little description of setting, and almost no glimpse into the characters' thoughts. I suspect this would be better in an audio version, or perhaps even a screenplay.
