I'd never heard of Annie Darling, but I couldn't get enough of this sweet, modern rom com. Great for lovers of You've Got Mail.
With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.

So I read the second in this series of books True love at the lonely hearts bookshop a couple of years back (it was actually one the first blog tours I was ever invited on), so I when I saw this one I thought I’d give it a go.
It took me a while to get round to reading Crazy in love at the lonely hearts bookshop, over a year in fact, just because the inspiration behind it is Wuthering Heights which I’m genuinely not a fan of (I read half way through and gave up) so I had my reservations about this book.
I shouldn’t have been so worried, Crazy in love at the lonely hearts bookshop turned out to be a really heart warming romance.
I loved Nina. She wears vintage fifties clothes with a hair do to match (most the novel her hair was styled like Marilyn Monroe and was pink) and she is covered in tattoos. She thinks love equals passion and will settle for nothing less. It leads her to date a string of unsuitable men and plenty of dodgy dates.
Then she meets Noah with his sensible suits and ties and ginger hair. He likes puzzles and probabilities and doesn’t believe in silly things like fate and destiny. He couldn’t possibly her Heathcliff could he?
Of all the romantic heroes to pick, Nina choose Heathcliff, which as she says in the book is pure toxic masculinity, personally I prefer just calling him a selfish arse. I enjoyed her journey, discovering that you can have passion but it isn’t the be all and end all.
I did feel with all the build up between the characters, the story did drag a little, then the ending was a little rushed but of course that’s just my opinion.
I’d recommend Crazy in Love at the Lonely Hearts Bookshop to anyone who loves great characters, heart warming romance with a subtle nod to classic novels.

Good to be back in book ends. Rather different story to the rest. Not sure if i preferred it or not but nice read. Guess its toms story next...

I love Annie Darling for sweet escapism and also BOOKSHOPS FOR EVER. Her writing is gentle, and never overdone, and her characters are solid and believable.

Review: If you have read the other two books in this series of The Lonely Hearts Bookshop then you will want to read this. It can be read as a standalone to.
Annie Darling is a great storyteller and when you return to The Lonely Hearts Bookshop it is like returning home and having a good gossip with a cup of tea. It is a warm and charming story. I have adored all three books and often re-read the first one as that is my favourite of the three.

I was approved on Net Galley to read this as I loved the sound of the book and I loved the book cover. I mean anything that is to do with a bookshop and love, well you are in already aren't you.
I must admit I didn't give this 5 stars but that is only because it took a while for the book and Nina the main character to care, once Nina cared about Noah and properly noticed him then I was hooked.
I loved everything about Nina, she is a normal girl, loves food and tattoos, (when I can I meet her) she doesn't care what people think about her (I know contradiction of the previous sentence!) yet with insecurities. I loved her fashion and her hair (at the end of the book the author puts links to her vintage fashion!). Nina wants to find her own Heathcliff, she is obsessed with the book and the Bronte sisters. She wants passion, she wants to be loved and it to be wild and wants nothing less than that. In walks Noah, everything she does not want in a man, and what are all the notes he keeps writing on his iPad about her! But something at the back of her mind is bugging her...where does she know him from??
Nina spends her days reading books in the shop, swiping on HookUpp app on men (sound familiar) and going on really bad dates with random men. She just wants to be loved and like a lot of girls, she loves a bad boy who will just break your heart. Throughout the book, we do have real growth in Nina's character, as she understands passion is not just about how you look but the person. She takes on more with the shop to make people care and drum up business. I love the references to Instagram and Twitter, as still being relatively new to blogging, I understood the excitement of the likes on posts and trying to build followers and interest. In fact, reading this book makes me want to learn more and buy my own bookshop - mad I know but I love the idea and the hard work all three girls and Tom put into the shop, this dream is all down to the writing by the author.
When Nina gives Noah a chance it was so lovely to see her relax and see past the "nerd" in him. Their dates were so much fun to read until he took her to her dream location of Wuthering Heights. They had such a fantastic evening together until the next morning when Nina's phone rung and Noah saw it..... this is when it all changed. Oh, Nina!! I was so annoyed with the pair of them and really not impressed with their behaviour! Everything could have been avoided so much earlier, but what I loved about this, is that this would happen in an everyday walk of life. So many times things could have been avoided if everyone was honest at the beginning. It may have already happened to you or someone you know so I loved all the realism in the book.
This was the 3rd book in the Lonely Hearts Bookshop series, which I did not know when I picked it up to read, but you do not need to read the other books to know what is happening. However, I will be buying the first two books about Posy (the bookshop owner) and Verity aka Very (co-worker and flatmate) as both of them sound like fun books too and I adored all the flawed characters. The read is nice and easy and has such a nice flow to make the book a quick finish too, definitely one a nice sunny day - which I did. I just hope there are more books to follow

Crazy in Love at the Lonely Hearts Bookshop is the third book in a series but it can be easily read as a standalone. It tells the story of Nina and Noah. I loved Nina. She was so much fun and very unlike most romance heroines I’ve come across. Noah was lovely as well, but we never got to know him that well because we had Nina’s POV. I also really enjoyed the romance bookshop setting and all the Wuthering Heights references. Lovely book and I’m looking forward to reading more books by this author’s.

Annie Darling and her Lonely Hearts Bookshop has quickly become a favourite of mine. Each book is essentially a standalone following a new member of staff, whilst the staff members from previous books become supporting characters for the new book. So you could read the books out of sequence, but you will come across a few spoilers if you do.
Crazy in Love follows Nina. Nina isn't like everyone else and I love that about her, from the way she dresses to her attitude about love. Sometimes when you listen to her talk about relationships and marriage its easy to think she isn't looking for love, but she is. She just doesn't fully understand how love affects a person. So she is completely thrown when Noah walks in to her life. From the very beginning she doesn't see Noah as a serious love interest and what happens then is she lets her guard down, she spends time with him, and before she knows whats happening shes thinking about him in ways she swore she never would. Can Nina really let go of her idea of crazy in love and actually fall for someone like Noah?
I could rave all day about this book, this series, Annie Darling.... I cant wait to see what happens next in this series.

Nina works in a bookshop, Happy Ever After with Posy her boss and is hooked on bad boys as we find out early on as she tries dating through Tinder style app HookUpp.
One day the geekiest boy from her school, Noah, walks by her shop, only now he's become a professional in a suit and is a business analyst helping in the shop!
The crowd who work at the book shop all regularly hang out at the pub together called The Midnight Bell and are a very sociable group going out together as well as finding dates in Nina's case too while there. After taking part in a quiz night, Nina recalls Noah as Know It All Noah she went to school with and he's the boy whom her brother used to bully!
As the pair spend more time together as they work and relax together, they start becoming a sort of couple and when Noah whisks Nina away for a spontaneous break, it shows how thoughtful he's been towards her until their relationship suddenly spirals after Noah discovers something out after seeing Nina's phone...
Nina is a bubbly, lively woman and an easily likable character, she's an average sized lady with a healthy appetite as it often gets mentioned and it's nice to have a rounded view of a character as a normal but edged with a party side sort of personality! She's been hurt and makes it clear she's more into casual dates as they often turn out awful and ending abysmally so it was nice to see a good guy could sweep her off her feet, even if more drama ensued due that fact!
A fun read with plenty of gossip and dating stories for single girls to relate to!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Oh, how I love this book series! I was so excited when I saw this book was out and I'm even more excited that there will be another after this as well, I really never want these books or the series to end!
This is the third book in the series and follows Nina and her mission in life to find her 'Heathcliff'. Nina is such a funny character and has many different levels to her personality. On the outside, she is bold and funny, with pink hair and a loud fashion sense, but underneath she is vulnerable and not as confident as she seems.
In comes Noah, a friend of Sebastian and the complete opposite of Nina. he is hired by Posy to analyse the bookshop to see where they could make changes. Once Nina gets to know Noah, she is pleasantly surprised, but her past holds her back.
These two were just perfect for each other! I was rooting for them the whole way through! I could just picture Noah as similar to Eddie Redmayne! I could really shout about every part of this book but I would post too many spoilers!
I am now counting down the days until the next installment and cannot wait!

Wow, these books are sweet. I'm talking coffee order my friend used in order to give up coke: “Yes three shots of vanilla please… and how many packets of sugar do you have?” That sweet.
I had already devoured the first two, so when this became available I completely jumped at the chance… sometimes an espresso won't do it. (This is the end of the coffee metaphors now. Promise.)
What could be better than love in a bookshop? Imagine me screaming that from a megaphone during rush hour on the tube. I’m sure everyone has separate places to find their joy but this, dear reader, is where I find mine.
We have moved on from Posy and Verity, and now it is Nina's turn in the limelight. A size 14/16 vintage-loving lady with a flair for retail, a hatred of mornings and a love of bad boys. Yes, her name is Nina… although it may as well be Grace. Maybe that's why I loved her so much, go figure.
She’s on the search for her Heathcliff, which has in turn led to one or twenty disasters. Nina continues searching for love in all the wrong places, from the HookUpp App to some frankly disgusting men in dingy bars. One thing for sure is that Nina is incredibly determined in her search; even throughout the stress of a business analyst turning up, leading Nina to believe that maybe the job and home she loves so much may be under threat. The business analyst is lovely, if not a blast from Nina's past so surely she can't be interested? Right?! I’m not going to say too much less I ruin something. Like many books of this ilk, the ending is predictable but the absolute joy of the getting there makes it worth the read 100%.
Although this is a series I don’t believe you have read the first two beforehand (or even at all), although I do highly recommend. I cannot wait to fall back in with these characters in the next instalment; it was like falling into your favourite bookshop for a browse. Ironically, it’s comforting, fun (the banter in this place would make it a daily stop-off), and I truly cannot help wishing that ‘Happily Ever After’ really exists… in the sense of both the shop and the ending.

A beautiful book by Annie Darling her third novel in the series. This book tells Nina’s story of searching for her Heathcliffe and her journey to getting there. I love Nina’s sassy attitude, pin up inspired dress sense and fabulous tattoos. A really fantastic book.

What a lovely book to read while curling up by the fire on a Sunday afternoon. I loved the book and its characters who were brought to life so well they were like old friends. I haven't read the previous books in the series but that didn't affect the way I enjoyed the plot of this one.
Nina works in the bookshop and knows the stock inside out. She is into vintage fashion and tattoos and spends her time searching for the man who she wants to spend the rest of her life with. She wants a love story like Cathy and Heathcliffe in Wuthering Heights but most of her dates don't live up to those expectations.
Posy, who owns the bookshop, is looking for ways to increase their income and invites her husband's friend Noah to spend time in the bookshop observing with a view to increasing turnover. Nina hates the way Noah notes down everything on his iPad. Unknown to Noah there is history between him and Nina and this produces some unexpected twists in the story..
Would I recommend this book - yes definitely. I can't wait to root out the other books in this series.

I absolutely adore Annie Darling's books and I've already fallen in love with all her characters. "Crazy in Love at the Lonely Hearts Bookshop" is the newest addition to The Lonely Heart Bookshop series and yes, you can read it as a stand - alone, but I'd really heartily recommend to read the two previous books in the series as well - they're just too brilliant to be missed.
This book, after Posy and Verity, focuses on Nina - the big - mouthed Nina, tattooed Nina, Nina with a penchant for vintage clothes and dating. And cakes. Being almost thirty, Nina is looking for her own Heathcliff and she's picked many unsuitable men, and she starts to question herself, her lifestyle and choices. At the same time, things at the bookshop are not so rosy, so Posy decides to bring Sebastian's friend Noah to look at the business practices. Noah is a total opposite of Nina and he plays on her nerves with his iPad, making notes on every single person working at the shop. And Noah doesn't know it, but they used to know each other in the past, however it wasn't the best past. Does the opposites attract? Is the truth ever going to come to light?
Guys, guys, guys. What a brilliant read was it again! It was such a joy to connect with all the characters that I've already fallen in love with and to see what's going on in their lives. After making sure that Posy and Verity's love lives are absolutely all right, this time Nina is our problem child. This time the girls doesn't have to set Nina up on dates or sign her to dating sites because Nina absolutely has everything well in hand. However, mostly the guys are the wrong ones. I loved the way Nina didn't treat herself too seriously She was fierce, she was quirky but she also had this more vulnerable side to her and she had conscience. She was believable and relatable in the way she acted and reacted, she had her ups and downs, she was sometimes rude but that was Nina all the way - she was honest and there was not beating around the bush with her, which I really, really loved - made a difference to so many meh characters in the women's literature.
Noah... Well, Noah. Brilliant male characters just pours out of Annie Darling's pen, and they are so different and each of them is in their own league. Noah was the best geek I could have ever imagine and I loved him. So there. I loved how he was around people, how he brought the Tupperware doses with vegan food home with resignation , and how, when he fell in love, then he fell with his whole body, head, feelings and emotions. I could so understand his pain, and I could see he felt betrayed but I wanted to shake him so much because he and Nina, though on the surface so different, were like match made in heaven, and I SO wanted for those two to stay together. Did they? Or was the hurt too big?
The characters in this story were great, just great. They grew on me immediately. I loved to see all the characters from the previous books, even if it was only for a moment or two, but them being there made me smile at remembering what kind of antics they got themselves into. They were all so brilliantly described, with tons of feeling and understanding from the author, she truly got into their heads and created the warmest fictional characters in the world. It is impossible not to like those people. The dynamics between them was also brilliantly captured, I loved all the banter and bitching and the fact that when one them needed help they could count on each other, on their support. It was all so effortlessly and realistically captured and the friendships and relationships just seemed so genuine. They complemented each other in great ways, no matter if they were main or background characters.
There was maybe not so much of the bookshop itself in this story, and so many tote bags, though Posy didn't disappoint in that respect - no, I take this back, there was enough of the bookshop. Of stacking the shelves and customers drooling after Tom. The plot was easy but there were enough ups and downs to keep me glued to the pages, some disastrous dates and family birthdays. The humour was one of the best and I adored the jokes and the irony, it was just my kind of humour and I just wanted to beg for more.
It is so that any book can come close to the first book in the series, "The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts" but the next two are of course brilliantly warm, uplifting, funny reads and I love them all with all my heart. This novel was utterly romantic, full of friendship and acceptance, showing that looking different doesn't mean you're worse, that you should stay true to yourself and be proud of yourself, no matter what size you are and how many tattoos there are on your body, or if you have specs and a wonderful high school diploma - just be proud of yourself and believe in you, and I loved this message. It was hilariously funny and also there were moments it was very poignant, and the way the author balanced those feeling was great.
Altogether, it was - again! - an uplifting, optimistic story touching upon some serious issues and dealing with them in a great way. The characters were - again! - brilliant and very well outlined and I can't have enough of them. My heart went to them all and all I want is to see them happy. It is full of warmth and it just felt like a group hug - wonderful, unputdownable read, another cracker in the Lonely Hearts Bookshop series. Highly recommended! And guys, what's more important, there is another Lonely Hearts Bookshop book to come! I am only wondering - is it going to be about Tom? There was a little more about him and his thesis in the book, so maybe?

Nina is looking for the kind of crazy love and passion that Cathy and Heathcliff had in Wuthering Heights but so far she has only found losers and bad boys who are interested in her looks. Noah, a nerdish business analyst with his nose always in his iPad, visits the bookshop where she works but Nina dismisses him as not her type at all. But soon she finds out that not only Noah is sweet and nice but he is also someone from her past, and the more time she spends time with him, the more she likes him.
This is the third book in the Lonely Hearts Bookshop series and, like the previous two novels, it is entertaining and romantic. Once again, the author has created engaging and lovable characters and I liked reading more about the characters from the previous novels. Featuring a bit of family drama, a few secrets, loyal friendships, and new love, this is a sharp, funny, and captivating novel that you won't be able to put down.

Fantastic book, this one focuses on Nina who we have met in the previous books. Tattooed Nina who has a penchant for vintage clothes and cakes and most importantly Wuthering Heights she has been looking for her very own Heathcliff. She is nearly 30 and starting to question her lifestyle and always picking the wrong men. While at work Posy brings in Seb’s friend Noah to look at the shops business practices he unnerves her always making notes on his iPad. Can opposites attract? Maybe Heathcliff is always what you imagine. I’m already looking forward to the Christmas title
