The Magic Garden is a beautifully illustrated story about what we can find in nature if we only take time to look. Informative and with language that is both simple and descriptive, children are introduced to the plants and animals that live outside.

The Magic Garden is a simple book of lovely illustrations that delves into the mysteries that exist right outside our doorsteps. It takes the reader on a little tour of an ordinary garden, pointing out some of the amazing creatures that live and work there, regardless of whether we notice them or not.

From snakes to spiders, bees to birds, we are encouraged to take a closer look at some of the more "shy" creatures that surround us every day. While I'm not really a fan of the word "magic" being used to describe nature, I do think the book is simply trying to communicate how intricate and mysterious some of the everyday facets of nature can be, even when they're ignored.

At the end of the book, there are some more detailed paragraphs about many of the creatures that are mentioned -- how they live, eat, weave, spin, etc.

What a lovely gem of a book A magic Garden by Lemniscates. Chloe is a sweet young girl who lives in a house that has a garden. Chloe watches her garden change seasons and then watches a caterpillar transform into a beautiful butterfly. She notices that everything is changing around her. This book has wonderful bright illustrations throughout and tells a wonderful story of nature.

The magic Garden is a lovely delight for young children, it explains why bees are magical, What happens if a seed falls to the ground, Why some animals are bright colours, Why bee's are so important in the garden etc.
I found I could use this for my classes and make seasonal projects which will involve all my pupils.

5 Stars from me.

This is a dull, yet cute book. The wind tells Chloe that the whole garden is a magical place, where things grow and change. Chloe just stands there, the whole time, while the wind tells her about lightening bugs, and butterflies, and how trees produce fruit. There is no action on her part, and the wind might as well have been telling this to the reader, which I guess it was.

The pictures have bright colors, so might engage young readers, but the back information, once again, is where the punch is, where the meat of the story is. Where we learn about why animals some animals have bright colors, and some hide in the leaves.

An extra star for the back material.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved all the wonderful drawings that brought the magic garden to life. This is a great book to teach kids about what happens in a garden and also about how plants and animals grow and live.

ARC Copy...liken the simplistic yet textured college nature of the illustrations which brings out the parable about nature in a simple backyard garden is actually magical.

Chloe, the young girl, in this lovely picture book, is oblivious to the charms of her garden when the story begins. She, the reader, and the child you will read to all learn more about nature and the seasons in this book which encourages observation and a love for nature. There are additional facts at the back of the book that expand on some of the topics covered in the story. The illustrations and text are both appealing and the reader gets the sense of why gardens are magical.

I really liked this book. I thought that the book was well designed and the illustrations were of a high quality. The way that the animal facts are gently bought into the story and introduced was interesting. I thought it was really helpful using the little girl as a constant throughout the story as it meant that there was a familiar figure to follow.

Chloe lives in a house that has a garden, but she hasn't really explored its wonders. Until one day, the wind whispers to her, and she finds herself lost in the beauty of her garden. There she discovers magical things. Beautiful colors, insects that can eat something three times her size, and other amazing parts of nature that she hadn't noticed before.

This is a wonderful book about nature and what can be found in our very own back yard. Not only does it encourage exploring nature, but it also holds some very interesting facts towards the end of the book. Beautifully illustrated with harmonious colors, this is a book I would definitely recommend all parents read with their children- and then maybe go on their own adventure in the garden!
