Submit is the second book in Power series by author Bailey Bradford. This book can be read as a stand-alone and understood just fine. I have not read this series before.
I love how this book has a ton of chemistry between the characters. It really holds this story together. What I was not a fan of was how rushed this book is. I feel it could be a better book if it were long and less rushed.
Larry has a few issues to work out and on in this book. He really needs what Bo can give him. Bo himself has a few issues to work on but they are better together than apart. Sometimes you can find the person who is broken just like you are and they fit you. That is what these two flawed men have.
Overall a great story with heart and love to keep me turning the pages and wanting more.

This book to me came out to be so similar with Fifty Shades of Grey. It was a simple and pretty straight forward read.

Larry keeps his desires as a sub in the BDSM community strictly separate from the rest of his life. But when he meets Bo, Larry finds himself tempted to have more than scenes with this charismatic, dom. But a life ridden with betrayal keeps Larry from taking that risky leap.

Let me sum this up: They meet, they have a scene, they talk about their issues, then they're fine. I honestly expected more given the premise but even with it being so short, the blew by so fast, I didn't feel any tension or suspense. I respect the depiction of BDSM in this book, though. 3 out of 5.

I didnt like this book that much. It was too short to flesh out the characters and it felt a little forced. but i also didnt know that tis was the second book in a series so maybe i should read the first one...

Larry wants to keep his sex separate from this BDSM life, his rules and boundaries are his and he doesn't explain them to anyone. He doesn't think he will ever get a happy ending, nor does he believe he deserves one. Bo wears a leather hood to keep his Dom persona away from the man outside of BDSM. When the two collide at a club, neither expect the sparks that fly nor do they expect the connect that forms, but in order for them to truly connect, they must learn the meaning of true submission.

I liked both Larry and Bo, but I felt like the book was rushed, there was no way to really get to understand the guys and for them to really develop as characters in such a short book.

Not much to say about this book. Didn’t really enjoy it at all, I was expecting something better from the author. I’ve read other books and had no problem reading it or enjoying it. I feel like I’m on a book slump.

Well written. It has the perfect ratio of erotica to story. The scenes don't come out of the blue. They follow the storyline and are not just inserted to sensationalize the book.
The backstory on the characters lets us understand their needs better. I was glad that it wasn't just BDSM scene after BDSM scene but contained an actual story with characters that we could all identify with. The story of Conversion Camps are still rampant. The damage that it does on the psyche of children sent to them is explained beautifully here. The readers can connect to the characters and that makes the book even more fun to read.

While well written, I had the feeling the story got rushed through. Everything happened so fast to probably keep the attention of the reader. There could and should have been more focus on the actual characters though, explaining their actions and reactions better. Otherwise the whole book is not even erotica but simply porn and the writing skills are definitely there.

Hmm. I have read better. I felt it was a little rushed in some places. I had to go back and reread parts to make sure I read what I read. Overall a decent read.

Even as a straight female, I found this novel of gay erotica very...erotic! Aside from the steamy sex scenes, I fell in love with the two main characters. To everyone who enjoys this genre (or thinks they might!) I definitely recommend this book.

Way to quick of a read, Larry suffered abuse as a kid in a ‘conversation camp’ where he witness a murder. Bo is a health inspector but also a part time sadist that needs the release to beat someone very hard. They meet up at their BDSM club Bo in a leather executioner’s mask, Dom and Larry a sub that needs caneing but he don’t mix sex and play scene together at all. Can their play be more then that or will it be love at first sight???

ARC was received by Netgalley.com and reviewed voluntarily by me.

This is book two in the Power Series. I have not read the first book, but this was a standalone book, so there was no confusion about the story. This novella deals with Larry, a sub who keeps his BDSM separate from sex, and Bo, a Dom who has recently moved to the same town Larry lives, and is looking forward to dealing out pain. Both men are lonely and looking for release, and go to their local club, and as luck would have it, they meet and share an intense, supremely satisfying scene, that has both men thinking about each other afterwards, even though both men made it very clear that they kept their BDSM completely separate from their daily lives and their privacy sacred. But fate is generous, and they meet again at the soup kitchen where Larry volunteers and Bo is inspecting. After admitting to their electric attraction, they begin to tentatively date outside the boundaries of the scene, and find their perfect match. The story itself is a quick read, consistent in tone and pacing, the cover is quite sexy and dramatic, and the erotic content is very hot and intense. I did find their relationship to be insta-love, but in such a short read, there wasn't much space or time for more plot line development. Overall, as an erotic novel, it was an entertaining, titillating read, and I enjoyed it, and will probably look for the rest of the series.

Larry has had an incredibly difficult life and I loved him right from the beginning. His heart and commitment to helping everyone around him before himself is not just selfless, it's an example worth emulating...to a point. You can't serve someone from an empty platter. Larry has trouble refilling his platter. His friendships and philanthropy aren't healing him the way he had hoped. He's lonely and needs relief. A mutual acquaintance brings him to the attention of a Dom that can give him the relief he seeks and before he realizes it, he's drawn to the man for more.

Bo is lonely. When he's captivated by Larry's face and attitude willingly participates in a scene with him. Realizing quickly that he's drawn to him beyond what he can do for the beautiful man with a cane or a flogger, he hopes to find him at the club again. There's something deeper and darker that calls to him. Seeing him outside of the club by coincidence gives him the opportunity to begin something more with him. As he falls for Larry his own heart finds the place it was always meant to be.

This was an intense story that was far too short for my liking. I seriously enjoyed it. There was a dynamic here to their practice of BDSM that was unique to this pairing. A lot of respect and genuine affection drove their interactions which I found fantastic. The sexy times didn't happen at first and this isn't something I've come across in other stories like this I've read thus far. Usually, it's an intense sexual attraction that leads to some kind of scene with sex included and then some angst and a relationship that grows from there.

Instead, we have two men who need something deeper, a connection to be their foundation, turmoil from their lives outside their scenes that drive the need for their scenes. Affection builds as they learn boundaries. Their communication is phenomenal. They discuss limits and expectations and personalities before getting into what they can do for one another and they make it work.

Like I said, this story was far too short. I wanted much more. There was so much potential as individuals and as a pair that was unfulfilled because of the story's length. I'm hoping that as I continue the series I'll get more relationships like theirs that feel real, organic, and tender in addition to the hotness that comes from their steamy interactions.

I liked it but it feels really rushed in places if it had been longer this could have been a great read.It had an interesting plot but it just needed more it is a fun read though and I will be checking out the next one.

So this was an interesting take on the BDSM erotic novel in that the BDSM wasn't sexual. Still disturbing, even if consensual, to read about one lead literally beating another (like punching, kicking, hitting involved) while the other lead fights back. Also the Dom says he's a sadist but that he likes hurting people who like to be hurt and I don't know maybe the definition of sadist has changed since I took Psych all those years ago but that's not my working definition of a sadist. Outside of that the sub lead desperately needs years and years of therapy but instead magics better out of nowhere and there's not much plot or much sex or much BDSM. I read this a couple days ago and I am struggling to remember what the hell happened in this book.

this is a decent series.. this story was interesting and fun. it was short though and felt a bit rushed. overall i really enjoyed it and am glad i read it

I felt it rushed through emotions. Instead of showing the reader a character's inner life and thoughts by putting him in different situations, it forced those thoughts out as if in a rush to let you know how much they suffered so they could get on with the "mending" and the rest of the book.

It didn't feel as if I was getting to know the character, but rather as if they were summing up comprehensively all their characteristics to be able to move on.

The story was okay but it was too short to fully get invested in the characters. Something I found different than other BDSM books I've read is the initial meeting of the MCs in the BDSM scene. There's no sex, as Larry, the sub, does not mix submission/punishment with sex. His reasons are not satisfactorily explained and the Dom, Bo, a sadist, goes along with this and never really asks why. Too much of a coincidence that Larry volunteers in a homeless food dispensary and Bo is a health inspector director covering for sick employees when they meet out of the club. Larry doesn't have a job, just volunteers, living off money won from settlement of a lawsuit when he was younger and then donates most of it away to the homeless kitchen he volunteers for. The story just didn't come through with it's potential.
Story has HEA ending.

This was ok. Honestly, nothing surprising here. Nothing bad, but nothing extraordinary. Just a slightly kinky book about a couple of guys. Their relationship felt forced but only because they were so careful with each other at first. Love comes quick, some things about the MCs aren't revealed well... mostly character build up stuff. But it was alright. Something quick with a sweet HEA.

First of all, I need to say that this cover is ridiculous! The title also does not lend any help to the cover and instead makes it seem like it mocking it instead. It looks like butt cheeks and I am not sure how it ever got approved! Old ladies walking by this book being featured will be scandalized! I know this book is about two men in a BDSM role but I think that the cover is out of line and only takes away from the concept.

I went into this book with an open mind and It quickly became clear that I was not going to love the characters or the prose. This book was a very intense book and at times the BDSM might have been a bit much. There was a lack of real story and I wanted to know more about Larry and Bo.

I also not care for the pacing. It was as if the author had everything ready when they started writing but then lost momentum and pumped out the first thing that crossed their mind. The second half of the book was too fast and seemed forced.

I did like how the author showed Larry’s trust for Bo and how it eventually led to the two having something more than just a BDSM relationship. There just was just not enough preverbal "meat and potatoes" for me to love this book.
