I loved Ragdoll and could not wait for this one. It did not disappoint either. Fast paced from start to finish. Rollercoaster ride of a thriller. Loved it!

Incredible read though I feel I should have read Ragdoll first. Following on from the events in Ragdoll which I am still to learn about, the lead character, Emily, finds herself in the middle of a new case with more grisly murders, she has to prove she is up to the job as well as to deal with her battle scars. Can she do it?

I couldnt wait to read the follow up to Ragdoll.... and I was not disappointed!

Daniel Cole has a unique ability to combine dark humour and a dark, evil killer. A perfect combination of chuckles and chills!

Set within the same character universe as Ragdoll, but with a different lead, this is really effective was of keeping things interesting.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC in return for an honest review :-)

I have been trying to read this book for months and thought I’d better try and read it before book three. It is my favourite of the series, Baxter is a brilliant character who made me laugh many times. Especially with the spider and her atrocious people skills. It is violent and gory but it’s humour makes it special and it is crying out to be televised.

As I only got a sample of this book it’s difficult to give proper feedback, however what I did read got me hooked and I’m going to have to download the full novel.
Daniel Cole is an excellent author and I look forward to and enjoy everything I read of his. I will leave full feedback when I’ve the full book.

I was so pleased to find this book had been released just after I had finished the first book in the series. If you like your crime stories a little gruesome then this is a book for you. This book follows on from the first one and just doesn’t disappoint Daniel Cole is definitely a writer to watch out for I can’t wait for the last part of the trilogy. I highly recommend you wad book one before you read this one as they link together. But it’s a great read the characters are likeable and this has you sitting on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

I didn't realize this would just be a sampler of the novel. I'll be checking this out at the library instead. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

Hangman is part of a series of books and is the follow up to a book called Ragdoll which I have not read. However this didn't matter, it works well as a stand alone thriller and any bits of history that are necessary to the story are nicely retold with the minimum amount of detail.

The main character is Emily Baxter who has been promoted to DI from DS as a result of her work the aforementioned Ragdoll case. Emily however feels like this is unwarranted as the major breakthroughs on the case were made by someone else so she feels a bit of a fraud in this regard. I loved this aspect of her, she is a flawed character and not your typical hero. But she works hard and is determined to solve the case when new bodies with carvings similar to the rag doll case start mounting up.

This is an interesting cross jurisdiction police procedural with the action taking place in both the UK and the US, and I enjoyed seeing both side by side in the same book.

Parts of the story were honestly too gory and graphic for me so I skim read through them. But overall it was fast paced and engaging and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

This book forms part of the Ragdoll series, and having read the first book, I would suggest you read in it order, but this one will read nicely as a standalone as well.
DCI Emily Baxter is summoned again to work on a mysterious murder case and has to travel New York. There she is presented with the "Bait" corpse...
Emily and her new team have to try to find the killer before more victims are found, while dealing with some personal issues coming from the events in the first book.
The book was well written and I can't wait for the next one in the series!

This is the 2nd book in the series (the first being Ragdoll) featuring the brilliant Fawkes and Baxter. Entertaining throughout and thorougly horrifying in places too.

The taster chapters didn't entice me to buy the whole book. If I'd read Ragdoll first it would undoubtedly have made more sense so I don't think this is really a standalone book.

I didn't find the main character particularly engaging or sympathetic, although there were some moments of humour. Most of the time she was petulant, aggressive and belligerent to the point of rudeness. I was not inclined to continue, or to read Ragdoll. Sorry.

I read and enjoyed Ragdoll, this one looks as good, shame it was only a few chapters but will be interesting to find out more.

Hangman is one heck of a book. I admit I must be living under a rock or something because I have not read Daniel Cole's first in this series, the ever popular Ragdoll. Let me tell you this certainly can be read as a stand alone. The author does a fantastic job of filling in the blanks and getting you up to speed.

Chief Inspector Emily Baxter and Special Agent Rouche are defiantly the stars of this show. These two will do anything to crack this case. I do mean anything. You will know what I mean when you get to the part that clearly shows how dedicated they are. WOW, I actually cringed and felt a bit queasy. The author did an amazing job of making me feel I was right there at that moment.

Victim after victim is left for dead, branded with either the words Puppet or Bait carved into their flesh on their chest. Strung from rafters in buildings, suspended on cables above streets. Baxter questions if these are copycat murders of the ever so famous case she cracked with Wolf (whom by the way is not in this book!) Or is this something else?

This book was admittedly my first Daniel Cole book and I literally gasped about a million times. This book is shocking and disturbing, but oh so good! Not many authors have such a knack for literally transporting you into the book with such graphic details. I felt like I was at the crime scene with Baxter and Rouche and trust me that is pretty creepy!

I guarantee this book will have you flipping the pages as fast as you can. With the intense scenes and gritty humor it made for a fantastic read. Throw in a shocking twist at the end and wow! Good news is this is a trilogy people! I defiantly have to go back and read Ragdoll and I can't wait to see wait Cole has in store for us with his next book.

I would not recommend this title. As it turns out, it was only a few chapters, not the entire book. I did not and will not read it.

A great addition to the series. An action packed edge of your seat plot that kept me guessing.
Can't wait for the next one

One of a series but with a different leading character. A unbelievable murder, mystery with lots of tension. Spread between New York and London , involving the Met Police, F.B.I. and C.I.A. It w3as some mixture which kept the tension rising.

I really enjoyed the taster chapters I was sent to read but felt I needed to be able to read more of the book to give a true indication of how the characters and plot were forming
