This book was a quick easy read. Although there were a few twists in it the story overall was quite predictable and did not keep me interested.

Funny and heartwarming, The Mum Who's Had Enough makes for a great read. We can all relate to a relationship fizzling out over time, a lack of effort being put in by either or both partners and this book delves into that, with a sprinkle of humour along the way.

I love Fiona Gibson’s books. They are witty, funny, and colorful. It makes a great weekend read! Can’t wait for the next one

I loved this book! I read it on holiday and found myself reading for longer than planned as I just wanted to read more and more. It was light hearted but also carried a deeper message that Love is all encompassing. Fantastic book!

Wonderful read, poignant and funny. It’s told from dual viewpoints of both Sinead and Nate with some of Flynn thrown in. With recaps as to their past I found myself wanting to cry at having seen them now. It was beautifully written with a witty commentary that makes it a realistic and enjoyable read. With relatable and realistic characters five stars doesn’t seem enough but definitely worth a read.

This was a wonderful fun read. I felt sorry for and exasperated in equal measure of Nate but am sure that at some point or other all us Mums have felt a bit like Sinead. A tad harsh I felt with her list but his interpretation of it was funny. Looking forward to seeing Fiona when she attends my local book festival next month. Thank you to Netgalley and to the author for the chance to read this title.

Nate wakes up to find his wife Sinead has already left their family home, leaving him to take their 15 year old son Flynn who suffers with Cerebral Palsy to school. She thoughtfully left him a “Everything that’s wrong with you” list and an email talking about divorce!!!

Poor Nate you can’t help but like him, rather than accepting his marriage is over he decides to work his way through his list and make changes in his life.

I couldn’t help but find Sinead selfish. Nate could have shaved his hair off for her but nothing he did would have changed Sinead’s mind.

I couldn’t put this book down, at times I was mentally shouting “No” at Nate. You know if you feel this way about a storyline then you have just read a brilliant book!!

Definitely recommend this book, it’s funny, emotional and beautifully written. I look forward to reading more of Fiona Gibson’s works.

This book is a charming story of a couple that had been married for a while when all of the sudden the wife/mother leaves and she leaves behind a note of all the things her husband did wrong. The story then moves between the characters who are trying to figure out the next steps in their lives. It is really quite humorous to read about the husband and all the actions he has taken and takes to try to fix things. He is quite the character. In fact the author does a pretty good job of really developing the characters and making them relatable. The story ends up well although the path it took to get there was a little all over the place. The story does somewhat become a bit predictable about 3/4 of the way through but I highly recommend it for a light-ish summer read. This story is Life.

A great light hearted, fun interesting read. When life can't be taken so seriously this is the type of book you need to escape.
Escape your mundane reality and your troubles and dive into the life of Nate and Sinead.
A perfect read for sitting in the garden with, or even curled up on the sofa, depending on the weather.
For me personally I have just gone through a hell of a time with real life, and this was my escape.

Pure escapism.


This book was so easy to follow and relate to, with laugh out moments that were priceless. There was I have to say some moments that were not quite serious, but pause for thought.

Brilliantly written, and I look forward to more from this author... I hadn't realised this author had a few other books all ready published, I will be stocking up on those.

Another fantastic book from Fiona Gibson. She takes the trials and tribulations, the every day struggles and minutiae of life and turns them into a tale that makes you laugh, nod your head and thoroughly get behind the characters. I really enjoyed reading this book, and Gibson is an auto buy author for me!

Fiona has gone and done it again! I LOVE her books and have read them all and couldn’t wait to read this one, I wasn’t disappointed and knew I wouldn’t be, not my favourite of all her books but a great read all the same and one of which I happily devoured one one sitting. Great storyline, serious and funny in equal measures and makes you think at the same time, can’t wait for the next one!

A good light hearted read, I really liked all the characters and some parts with Nate made me laugh. Nice read for summer.

I like this book though it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable at times. I loved that there were moments when I felt like I shouldn't be witness to some of the their conversations or reading her list of issues with him. It's was testament to her belief in his abilities as a father that she was willing to leave her son and walk away. That took real courage and I loved all the characters. I think it shows how great an author is when you are hooked on a book that you just need to keep reading but you feel really awkward and uncomfortable at some of the situations.

What I thought I was getting from this book: a light-hearted read about a fed-up mom who goes on holidays or something (entirely my fault, when will I learn to read the blurb?).

What I got: A deep story about what really happens when two people fall out of love.

Wow. This book! I usually keep my kindle books as bedtime reading and let me you, I went to bed early EVERY night just so I could fit in more reading time before I couldn't keep my eyes open.

It's mainly told from the perspective of Nate and Sinead (although other characters do come in later) a husband and wife who've fallen in a comfortable life, or from Sinead's point, a mundane loveless life.

One evening, while feeling low, Sinead writes a list of all the things that she dislikes about life with Nate. Of course he finds it and then realises that his wife has left, for good, leaving him to care for his son Flynn (who has cerebral palsy). My reaction here kinda surprised me. I was utterly horrified that a mother could leave her son. If it was Nate that left would I have seen it the same way? Probably not. I love that this book made me step back and question my beliefs around why it's different when a wife leaves than when a husband leaves.

The Mum Who'd Had Enough is a slow-burning, character-driven read. I loved following Nate as he developed as a person and as a father, how he learned that sometimes we just have to let go. Even though Sinead features in the title, we don't hear as much from her. It would have been nice to hear her recognise the part she played in the downfall of their marriage, but, as in life some people just don't change.

This was my first book by Fiona, but it certainly won't be my last. If you're looking for an engaging read that's true to life then I would highly recommend this book.

A light hearted, easy read about Nate, Flynn and Sinead, this book takes you on a journey of relationship discovery and rediscovery of them as individuals.

I enjoyed this book, the characters were well described and visual and I liked the other characters distributed throughout the story and the misadventures of Nate whilst he rediscovered who he was.

A lovely light hearted read whilst you kick back and relax

I really enjoyed this book. It is one of those books that makes you laugh out loud while also thinking 'I do that' or 'I can relate to that'. Fiona Gibson is a fabulous author who is writes great novels which are observational. I am sure that her characters must be based on real life people who she has seen around and from conversations she has had overheard or had with girl friends.
I highly recommend this book as a great book to get lost in over the summer - perfect for a sun lounger or beach read to throw into a holiday bag this summer.

Yes, I am one of those reader who thought this book to be more 'chicklit'. I was pleasantly surprised because the whole story sounded very real. I gave it three stars instead of 4 because I had a little trouble with the characters. I did not have the feeling I got to know them very well and I thought them both not too likably. Well, that's me... it's not that all readers have to feel the same way. I will certainly read more books by Fiona Gibson now.
