This is a great sampler with a few delicious recipes for those who love home cooked classics with a bit of a twist. I have been a fan of Matthew Wareing for years and he regularly appears on different TV shows. We frequently have belly pork which is one of the recipes featured in the sampler and who isn’t fond of Feta cheese? The recipe included is honey-baked with lavender and the cheesecake with ginger and figs sounds mouthwatering, especially to someone like myself who adores cheesecake!

This cookery book is definitely one I would recommend, judging by the sampler and one I would like to own myself.

{Thank you to #NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for the free copy of #NewClassicssampler and for giving me the opportunity to provide an honest review.}

Small sampler of what's to come in New Classics. Mouth-watering meal and elegant and exotic recipes that you won't forget. The photographs of the meals make it even more enticing!

I believe the 'New Classics' by Marcus Wareing is an exelent Christmas gift. I am sad that I couldn't read the entire book and only got a few pages, because it has classical recipes but with a modern touch. Amazing and I hope everybody gets to cook and share family moments with this recipes.

For the New Year's Eve I tried the recipe for the 'Fig and Ginger Cheesecake' and my family loved it. We are not used to ginger, but it was really good and even my grandma loved it.

A very small taster of what is to come in the full version.

Lovely sneak peek at a couple of recipes.

That feta recipe looks lush!! I imagine the rest of the book is as well laid out and beautifully presented as the small snippet we've seen here.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the free e-book sampler

I loved how bright and inviting this cookbook was, the photos made you want to go and make the food and the recipes provided sound so gorgeous. The instructions are clear and easy to follow and take consideration of the different levels of ability people may have , as an avid cook I have seen Marcus on tv and like his style but have never bought his books based on this sampler might be something I need to change.

Marcus Wareing is a firm favourite with many viewers of MasterChef and those that are fans of his cooking wont be disappointed with what's on offer here in New Classics. A combination of well know meals with a modern take there is plenty here for the aspiring or well seasoned chef.

Although this was a sampler I thought it quite a nice book with a few recipes I could test out. All in all, I think the book, in general, will be a good one full of Marcus's usual take on classic recipes.

Good range of recipes and all achievable by the home cook. Techniques needed to complete dishes are explained so it helps to develop your kitchen skills whilst producing tasty food at home.

I have been fortunate enough to experience Mr Wareing’s cooking first-hand. This is of course a little different as it is a recipe book for mere mortals but even this is beyond me! But it certainly reads deliciously…

A nice sampler of what one would imagine the full book to consist of, although, a very small sampler. Probably not enough content was provided in this to allow me to post a fair or useful review elsewhere.

Super recipes that can easily be made by the home cook. The ingredients are easily found and the instructions are very easy to follow. I have made a few recipes and look forward to making more. They were much enjoyed by the family.

A perfect book for such an amazing chef. I cannot wait to get home next week so I can try the baked honey feta.

This looks like it would be an excellent recipe book, in spite of the fact that I'm vegetarian and would therefore avoid the belly pork. The accompanying burnt pears sound interesting though, and could easily be added to another dish.
I loved the Honey-baked feta with lavender, thyme and rye crisps and it's recipes like this, old favourites with a new twist, that would inspire me to buy this book. I'm not a fan of figs, so the desert recipe will need some tweaking for me.

I would normally post my review on a variety of sites, but I don't feel that I am qualified to do so after just three recipes, so although I enjoyed the sample, I would need more before I could advocate that someone purchase the book.

Rating based on the three recipes sampled.

An enjoyable collection of recipes set in context, with some delectable food writing. I found the recipes to be at just the right level for me - adventurous without being intimidating.

I was a bit confused as to why there were only a few recipes in this sampler - I'd have expected more! I did go on and buy the book on Amazon though, on the basis of the recipes I was able to view. They are not the easiest recipes in the world, but I tended to use the ideas represented, rather than follow the recipes line-by-line.

The book is broken up into 4 sections: From the Garden, From the Farm, From the Sea and From the Store Cupboard. I thought when I opened the book that I would find the last section the most useful, but actually it was the first. I really liked what Wareing did to make vegetables more exciting - some really great inspiration stolen by me from this section!

Many thanks to NetGalley, HarperCollins UK and Marcus Wareing for a copy of this sampler to review.

I have only read a few pages of this sampler but the recipices look really fresh and interesting so I can’t wait to add this book to my Christmas list.

A great range of recipes. My favourite is the belly pork, lovely and irresistible. . My only criticism is the books title-which doesn't work for me. Recommended.

This is just a sampler - there were only 6 pages to review (which turned out to be a good thing).

The cover would look far better without the fake snowflakes overlaying the kitchen scene, and Marcus has a cheesy smug grin on his face - I dislike such obviously staged shots.

Of the 3 recipes included with the netgalley copy, they were all cheffy, over-worked and totally insipid - I couldn't picture myself attempting any of them, eating them, nor even ordering them in a restaurant.

I love cookbook and take great pleasure in reading them. This one wouldn't make it past the front cover review in a book store, although the front is perfect to describe the overworked, overbearing contents of the 6 pages that I saw. It's a no from me.

I couldn't write a review for this as I couldn't download the PDF

Not really my thing. I prefer simpler recipes. I'm sure more competent cooks will enjoy it.
