An excellent resource for a beginner or intermediate leatherworker, or someone wanting to learn techniques they may not have explored before. Excellent photographs with clear instructions on techniques. Several projects throughout help to get some hands on practice with the skills discussed, ranging from a simple standard belt, wallet, a super elegant dopp kit, weaving a bench, creating a hanging shelf, riveting a messenger bag together, through to creating leather panels to top tables, or wet forming leather to create a light shade.

Each pattern has a template with measurements, a list of materials and tools, as well as clear images of various steps in the process.

My personal favorite to try at some point is going to be attempting the washbag / dopp kit.

I was thoroughly impressed with LeatherWorks by Otis Ingrams. I have absolutely no experience with creating my own leather items from scratch but after reviewing the LeatherrWorks book, I feel brave enough to tackle it. My days of passing over those pre-made kits as just too useless, too lacking of details, too cheesy. Now I can plan out, cut out, and create what I want thanks to Otis Ingrams educational book. Full Disclosure: I was allowed to read a copy of this book for free as a member of NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review. The opinions I have expressed are my own and I was not influenced to give a positive review.

This book is absolutely fabulous, it isn't your basic make a handbag in leather book, although there are bags.
This wonderful and easily followed book explains the leather, tools and design of items and then it demonstrates the different technics. From a waste paper bin, to chairs and bowls, and there is a superb table using different colour leathers to produce a zig zag design as a top. Anyone interest in leather just has to have this book. It has modern, good designs which will last the test of time and well as usefulness.
