I enjoyed this.
Jenny Colgan's writing is perfect for whiling away an afternoon with some escapism immersing yourself in other characters' lives. That's exactly how I read this. Perfect for a cup of tea, a slice of cake and an afternoon of peace and quiet.

I didn't realise that this book was part of a series and so I came to it the second book in, but I didn't feel that that mattered.

The description of the bleakness of the island was lovely, and I can imagine walking along the beach with the wind whipping my hair and blowing away the stress and strain of everyday life.

The child character was so annoying, their use of language I don't think was correct and if my child spoke to me as a parent, the way Agot did, they'd be sitting on the naughty step until they were ten!!

A pleasant enough book, but if I am completely honest, I didn't feel invested enough in the characters to want to read the rest of the series - sorry!

I enjoyed this (I'm not sure there's a Jenny Colgan book I haven't enjoyed) but I had some huge problems with the relationship between the main characters. It all felt a bit forced and lacklustre, and there were definitely moments where I wanted to scream at Flora and tell her to run a million miles from Joel and their weird relationship. And don't get me started on Argot - every time she appears I wanted to skip whole paragraphs!

What can I say about these two chapters?

Well, I’ve just one-clicked the paperback from Amazon UK – so I think that speaks for itself, lol.

Jenny has captured my heart with her description of Mure – it really was a sensory experience. *points at self* This Lowlander needs to see more of her beautiful country *sigh* Yes *nods*, I know Mure is not real, but still...

These chapters were the perfect intro to her characters, and I am full of questions that need answers:

What is Joel’s story? Coz I can feel it in my water it’s gonna be a doozy.

Can Flora get to his soft centre, if he has one?

What of Lorna and Saif?

I think I’m going to need to invest in a box of tissues before this paperback arrives...

Wish me luck *crosses fingers*

This sample is Jenny Colgan at her best and I can't wait to read the rest (this is the second part of a series but it can be read as a standalone) Thank you for this taster, I'm sure I will enjoy getting to know Flora better and the location of her Summer Seaside Kitchen sounds truly idyllic.

I love Jenny Colgan and always eagerly await her new releases and then devour them within days. I was not disappointed with this book.
This book is the second part in the Summer Seaside Kitchen series however, the book can be read as a standalone. This is possibly my favourite Jenny Colgan book to date.
This isn't just a light-hearted chick lit book, it does deal with some darker aspects but dealt with well and doesn't darken the mood of the book.

All in all I was very impressed, highly recommended.

I didn't realise this was only two chapters of the book and not the whole thing. I must admit it didn't make me want to purchase the whole book. I would have carried on if it was the whole thing, but nothing happened enough for me to rush and buy it. I'll keep a look out for it but not overly enthralled by it.

This was a taster book of the first 2 chapters only.
Having read the other books based on Mure I was aware of the characters and their backgrounds.
A good starter and look forward to reading the rest of the novel.

This is apparently number 2 in the Summer Seaside Kitchen – but fear not! You can easily pick this book up and dive right into it without having read anything prior to this. If you want to stick with the order though, The Summer Seaside Kitchen is the first book you need.

This book is heart-warming, uplifting and incredibly realistic with excellent attention to detail to build up not only the characters but the Island setting that they find themselves in. It’s not your typical romantic novel though, with lots of twists and unexpected plot turns, this book will keep you reading until the end and then longing for more. Escapism at its best, The Endless Beach will bring Summer to your doorstep.

A good book, light and cheerful but also deep at the same time. Full of emotions and plot.

I always love Jenny Colgan books and this is a great setting for the start of her new book about Mure and a great catchup for the characters from the previous book, although I am sure will be fine as a stand alone.

This was another fab book from Jenny Colgan although it did take me ages to cast my mind back and remember all that happened in the previous book about Mure.

I loved meeting up with all the characters again to find out where life was taking them. Flora is still trying to work out her relationship with Joel and puzzling over the Seaside Kitchen’s Accounts. Lorna, the island’s headteacher has hidden feelings for Saif, the island’s doctor, who is about to receive some earth shattering news that will change his life forever. Meanwhile Fintan and Colton are still completely utterly head over heels in love with one another.

Best read curled up in your armchair with a cup of coffee and a nice big bar of chocolate.

I received a sample of this book from Netgalley (thanks) and then, with my appetite truly whetted, had to get the book so I could finish the rest of the story!!

I loved this book. I love the way Jenny Colgan creates her characters and how you become so immersed in their lives and who they are. This book is very funny in parts, deals with issues so many of us face at sometime in our lives and just really gets to you! I really couldn't put it down. At one point I admit it brought me to tears but it does leave you with a sense of hope. I really hope there is another book in this series about Mure - think a trip to the Scottish islands is on the cards!

Need to read the rest of the book now! I liked the previous book to this and want to know what happens with the characters.

Love Jenny Colgan books. I have read the first book in this series and this little taster on the next installment has me ready to go out and buy it.

As always Jenny Colgan never fails to deliver!

I have only read a sample of this latest novel, and I cannot wait to get myself a full copy and sit down for what I am sure will be a highly enjoyable read!

Intriguing and engaging from the beginning, I would already recommend getting your hands on a copy.

I liked this book, very readable, gentle, but very descriptive. I really enjoyed her previous book set in Mure, and I liked that this one carried the story on., but I need to find the rest of the book and finish the story. I need to know what happened to the whales, and Saif, and the seaside kitchen.

Jenny Colgan never fails to please, and the first 2 chapters of this book look to follow the trend. Set on a small island ,Flora runs a successful café and is in a relationship with a workaholic who always seems to be working away. I shall be reading the whole book as soon as i can to see the outcome of both her, and her friend Laura's, relationships .

This is just a short excerpt but enough to know that it is clearly chic-lit and therefore not for me. It appears to be one of a series also which puts me off.

Not familiar with the author's previous works, but found this sampler of two chapters very enjoyable. The sort of comfortable read you want on a winter's afternoon, or sitting by a pool.

Nice, descriptive prose, and an interesting range of characters.

Will probably read the full book at some point.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC.
