After the disastrous sequel to The Devil Wears Prada, The Wives (the third book in the series) is a return to form.

We return to the life of Emily Charlton (former PA to Miranda Priestly) who is now an image consultant experiencing issues with her business as well as competition from a younger model. After meeting her friend Miriam, she comes across Karolina, a senator’s wife who has just been charged with drink driving. Emily jumps at the chance to help Karolina and the three women become great friends and support each other out through some tough times.

This is a very amusing book, which zips along at pace. You are glad to be back in Emily’s world and there may even be a cameo from an old friend…

An enjoyable read that had a lot of witty moments which usually came from Emily who in my opinion was the best character with her no nonsense attitude. Yes she's a bitch but that's what makes her fun!

It focuses around 3 women who are in very different places in their life who all end up needing each other.

I have only read The Devil Wears Prada but didn't feel you needed to have read any of the books before reading this. It certainly works as a standalone novel

Incredibly well written, fast paced and punchy. The only negative I have is that some of the characters were a bit wishy washy and I never really connected with any of them in any meaningful way.

All in all a great summer read that I read quickly and enjoyed.

This is such a fun book. I laughed a lot and loved every minute of this.

It's nice to see how the other half live and feel thankful that I'm just ordinary.

This is a great vacation read - funny enough that it doesn't weigh you down and still intense and gripping enough that you will want to get to the end of it. I especially enjoyed how each of the three main protagonists were fleshed out - layered, interesting and realistic. I would definitely recommend it.

The third instalment in the Devil Wears Prada series and follows the world of Emily Charlton and her friends. It does not disappoint. This book is funny, feisty and like Emily, fierce. I loved it - it’s the perfect holiday read. 5*****

This book just makes you want to sit down, eat chocolate, drink wine and suck in the girl power that it exudes in every chapter. With the return of Emily, still sharp as a sword and the additional two characters Karolina and Miriam, we go on a journey of three friends with entirely different lives. Karolina is set up for a huge fall courtesy of her Senate husband, Miriam is going through the mum/wife/no mans land and finding none of it fulfilling and Emily is there with her dry wit and humour to gather them up and pick up the pieces. A true girl power adventure, this book leaves you smiling with joy for the protagonists and fiery as hell to take on anything!

Lauren Weisberger writes a stylish, humorous and intoxicating novel in this third book from The Devil Wears Prada series. Even though I have neither read The Devil Wears Prada nor watched the film, though I would like to do both at some point, I was still looking forward to reading The Wives. I expect that have missed out on some of the backstory here, but regardless, reading it was a lot of fun, and immensely enjoyable.

In this addictive story of social jocularity and forceful women, Lauren Weisberger wastes no time in getting the story going and I soon found I was hooked. Saturated with hilarity and scandal, this is a story-line that highlights the importance of good friends. The story is told through the minds of Emily, Karolina, and Miriam. I worshipped each of these three women for their frankness with each other. Emily’s chapters were my favourite as I found her character so intrepid and refreshing and she wasn’t afraid to speak candidly.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape from reality for a while.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel, at my request, from HarperCollins via NetGalley and this review is my own unbiased opinion.

I’m afraid I didn’t like this. I couldn’t get invested in the characters enough to care.. The petty revenge and the way it was written I just could get past

I loved The Devil Wears Prada and couldn’t wait to catch up with Emily in this story. This kind of format is one of my favourites, several different women whose stories interact with each other en route to their conclusions.

Very well written, great characters and a great read.

If I'm totally honest - this book took me FAR too long to get into.

I found the storyline really predictable and found myself losing interest at several points. Unfortunately not for me!

I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did, so a surprising enjoyable read. Great characters, glitzy setting and full of funny moments that captured very relatable experiences.

As with the previous books, this is a great book with lots of humour, as well as more serious moments. The different womens personalities and their subsequent friendship were the highlight of the book. Perhaps not as stand out as the first book, but still a really enjoyable read.

I probably suffered a little due to not having read the other novels- but not much and I really enjoyed this sassy, highly addictive story of social shenanigans and strong women, it was a whole lot of fun.

Lauren Weisberger writes with an insightful razor sharp prose, developing her characters beautifully and engaging the reader with various twists and turns of life and our places in it.

Overall a really great read and I've just gone and purchased the previous two.

I have not read any of Weisberger before, but I will be sure to look them up now. A great insight into American suburban life. This book had me laughing and crying. A great read.
Thanks very much to Netgalley and Harper Collins for the chance to read The Wives.

A perfect glossy, glamorous summer read. Loved the witty chapter titles and the pure escapist world of Karolina et al. Recommend!

*I didn't finish this book but I've given this a 3 star rating as an average score, to try and be fair*.

I read the plot summary and requested The Wives; I thought I was going to like this book but I soon realised after starting that this book wasn't for me at all, so I didn't think it was fair to myself or the author t try and read the entire thing and then write a dull, poor quality review.

This book is the third instalment in The Devil Wears Prada series. Although I’ve watched The Devil Wears Prada movie, I haven’t read any of the books prior to this one. I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to get into the story or keep up with what was going on with any of the characters.

My worry was unfounded, the story flowed beautifully and the characters weren’t complicated at all.

This particular book is set in Greenwich, Connecticut, and revolves around Emily, Miriam, and Karolina.

Emily turns up in Manhattan during the New Year festivities with the hope of saving the career of a celeb gone bad. This particular bad boy shuns her assistance, preferring the help of a rival of Emily.

Emily decides to spend some time with Miriam and it’s whilst at her house that she gets drawn into helping Karolina fight a DUI that she didn’t even commit, but her politician husband and his would-be new wife are stopping at nothing to get rid of Karolina.

This story is hilarious and full of scandal. It is told from the perspective of all three women and each different point of view reflects upon the issues these women are facing, showing us readers that even the rich and famous have issues and hang-ups just like the rest of us.

I absolutely loved Thais book and highly recommend it.

Well written and great characters! It’s taken me a while to read this as my ‘to read’ pile was so big, but I’m so glad I got round to it. Definitely recommend

So when I started reading this book I didn't know it was a sequel to one of the most famous books ever written. That was a surprise I found out later. As a standalone I enjoyed it, it was a light breezy read.
