I loved this book and read it in one sitting. The characters were so real.

My thanks to Netgalley for an eARC in exchange for my honest feedback.

I loved this book. It is not a book I would normally pick off the shelf but I enjoyed how the stories and characters all wove well together.

I liked the descriptions of life in Greenwich - very accurate and very funny!!

I didn’t really see the point if Alistair - didn’t think he added anything to the story - but other than that I really enjoyed it

At the start I thought I was going to hate thé husbands - that they would all turn out to be bad guys. I liked the twists in the stories to see things from their point of view.

A really good read

So your a former Model one from the streets in Eastern Europe highly successful, and now married to a future predicted President of America then your arrested on a DUI (Drunk under the influence) and everything changes from most loved to well there were kids in the car when arrested so the world and her dog despise you apart from a couple of very close friends. They love you and know it can't be true because they know you don't drink.

A thriller in the way Lauren Weisberger likes and does so amazingly and the three stars are Emily, Miranda and Karolina are terrific creations from her pen well probably on her iPad these days or AirMac. Anyway how ever they are great characters with their own stories going on as in real life certain insecurities although Emily would deny and then give you the finger whilst at it.. So no need to runaway because this is a great treat You won't want to miss action, bitching and plotting am the drama you need some laughter to mix it up a bit.

I really enjoyed this and hope you doing as well it will be worth every penny, at home or on the beach whilst enjoying the sun only be careful of the sun and the suntan everywhere but were the book or ebook Shadow leaving it's mark.

A light entertaining read perfect for a summer read on a hot beach or pool with a glass of wine next to you. It was perhaps a little too lightweight for me and I wasn’t too keen on the comment that you should never wear a bikini after having a baby unless you had a tummy tuck etc.

If you enjoyed the Devil Wears Prada this is your next read.

Lauren Weisberger brings back Emily Charlton, you know, the first assistant to Miranda Priestly in The Devil Wears Prada, who has since left and established herself as an in demand image consultant, married to Miles, who she barely sees, and living in LA. This is a delicious blackly humorous novel that skewers the well to do culture of the suburban housewives of Greenwich, Connecticut, and the manipulative black arts that lie behind the politics and the horror stories that lie behind the ambitions of politicians. Emily has returned to New York at the behest of Helene and her client, Rizzo, facing a social media storm after his ill advised behaviour. The only trouble is Rizzo is not impressed with Emily and hires her rival, Olivia Belle instead, something that has been happening far too often, leaving her with barely any clients. Emily's in trouble and lurking in the background is the presence of Miranda, but Emily really doesn't want to return to her former life.

Miriam Kagan used to be a high powered lawyer and partner in a prestigious law firm in New York whose life has changed beyond recognition. Feeling that she was missing out on her three children growing up, she and husband, Paul, have relocated to Greenwich. There is an ever growing distance between her and Paul, and full time childcare has its moments but it is often a fraught and exhausting experience, reducing Miriam to living in athletic leisurewear as she piles on the pounds. Clearly, suburban living and its community of wives and mothers is not all it's cracked up to be and there is no-one more able to point this out to Miriam than the in your face, direct and snarky Emily who has come to stay. Former super model Kristina has been married to Senator Graham Harwell, despairing at her inability to conceive, pouring her maternal urges into being a hands on mother to her beloved stepson, Harry. Her life is about to go down the pan as she is arrested for driving whilst drunk, with Harry and his friends in the vehicle. She is going to need her friends Miriam and Emily to survive the hellish nightmare and pain, finding herself on the verge of losing everything that matters.

Weisberger's character of Emily is a wonderful creation and her development here is a joy to observe, underneath her pointed put downs and sarcasm beats a compassionate heart, you just have to dig deep to find it. I loved her immersion into suburbia which she detests with a passion, with its sex toy parties and designer vaginas, not to mention the dreaded children, although being idolised and adored by young Maisie, Muriel's daughter, does have her glimpsing a world where perhaps not all children are to be avoided, and just as well, given what happens. I really felt for Kristina as her world collapsed around her, but Miriam and Emily are not going to let their friend go down without the fight of their lives. This is a gloriously lighthearted and comic read, of female friendship, marriage and family. I am hoping Weinberger resurrects Emily again, I cannot wait to see what happens next! Many thanks to HarperCollins for an ARC.

I loved this book! Not my usual genre - to be honest the title and description made me think it would be more about secrets and lies than it was. Despite that, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved and believed every one of the female leads and so much of this book is girls supporting girls. It felt like such a feminist read even with the chat about vagina surgery and sex parties.

I felt that all three of the main characters were relatable in some way, at the same time as being completely glamorous and living in a completely different world.

This book is a feel good read with some unexpected twists. I hadn’t read the two books that come before this one, and that didn’t take anything away from the storyline. You could definitely follow this book without knowing the background to the characters - the author is very talented at explaining them without too much in depth detail. This won’t be the last book I read by this author!

A fun and enjoyable experience. This book is up there with the others. A little too much going on and hard to keep track of all the characters but I got there.

I chose this book by the title and cover and I am so pleased I did. I will be keeping my eyes open for more Lauren Weiseberger reads going forward.

I didn’t really enjoy this, I don’t think it’s my kind of book. It was well written but I couldn’t keep focused on it, wasn’t interested in what happened or the characters. I didn’t like the views on anything, full of fat phobia and ageism , definitely not a book for me

Rating: 3 stars

I think it's important to say that this book wasn't really for me. It was very well-written, and I did find myself drawn into it enough to finish it, but there were aspects that I personally didn't really like. However, I do think that that is mostly because I'm not suited to chick-lit, rather than any criticisms with the text itself. I found that the wealth in this book was irritating, I know that they live in the suburbs and live rich lives but the disposable wealth shown just made them all seem shallow and vapid. The hammered in message that wives need plastic surgery to keep their husbands interested and the suggestion that every single one of the men in this novel were cheating was extremely frustrating to me personally, and while I enjoyed having a relatable character in Emily because YAY a woman who doesn't want children, she ultimately changes her mind on that too. They're all a little too cookie cutter for my tastes. That's coming from my perspective as someone who's disinterested in marriage and children and a peaceful stay-at-home life, though.

Ultimately, the plot of the book was interesting, and if you like chick-lit and these type of characters you will likely enjoy it a whole lot more than I did. I would recommend it for sure.

I absolutely loved this book!
The three main characters Karolina, Emily and Miriam are so likeable in very different ways. There are many twists in the story and a lot of laughs along the way. The crazy lives of the yummy mummy New Yorkers and their immense wealth is eye opening. I am so sad that I have finished it as I am craving more.

Provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

I wasn’t expecting to like this book, but I really, really did.

Each of the wives is different and yet something ties them together. They are amazingly strong women in their own rights and together, they are a formidable force.

I struggled with one of the story lines, but that was because I’m going through the same thing. But it was well researched and explained and I’m glad I read it.

Overall, well written, good, solid characters and a great story line.

This novel is so bad it’s worthy of a Miranda Priestly side eye.

I loved “The Devil Wears Prada,” in fact, it would be more accurate to say that I inhaled it. I read the sequel, “Revenge Wears Prada” and don’t remember much about it, but maybe that was a sign that I should have given this swerve. Here’s your four-word review: “The Wives” is awful. The writing is wooden, the plot is improbable and the characters were one-dimensional (though maybe one-dimensional was a goal so that the characters could fit into the sample-size designer clothes she spends so much time writing about.) Lots of little details didn’t make sense and so irked me to distraction—for example, she has the New York senator have a third house in Greenwich, Conn, the setting for the story. But it would have made much more sense for him to have a sprawling estate just west of the Hudson somewhere in the Hudson Valley. Putting that third house in Connecticut was just lazy, and certainly there are posh towns in New York state that could have subbed in for Greenwich. Or, alternatively, if you want to keep the action in Greenwich, make him the senator from Connecticut. There. Problem solved. But I digress. Stay away from this one. Life is too short to waste it on bad books.

Loved this, fun and addictive book from an author you can always trust to give you a perfect summer read. I wrote about this book for Pop Sugar Uk, link is included below.

After reading a handful of psychological thrillers and getting hooked on murders and ‘who did it…’ this was a lovely break from all of that! This book was published last Summer but has been in the depths of my NetGalley ‘to be read’ pile for sometime. I picked it up at just the right moment because I sped through this in just a few days… it was utterly entertaining, heart-breaking and hilarious at all the right times.

Oh AND it’s the third book in the Devil Wears Prada series.. I really and honestly only just found that out when I went to grab a photo of the cover to put into this review… So I had to do a little bit of research (I mean we’ve all SEEN the Devil Wears Prada but how many of us have actually read it?!) just to check BUT… This book definitely stands on its own two feet just as much as I imagine it fits nicely into the series.

Emily Charlton is back! One of my favorite characters from the Devil Wears Prada has returned with all of her wit, sass, sarcasm and quick thinking. Emily is not the only focus of this book though and to join her with equal sass, style and Lululemons is Miriam (once successful but overworked attorney) and Karolina (former super model and now wife of a senator).

Full of scandal, drama and suburbanites, this book will have you hooked from start to finish. Lots of glamour but also plenty of ‘normal’ moments to bring you crashing back down to earth. The book is told from the perspective of the three main characters and Weisberger handles it with ease and finesse.

This was a very entertaining story and could only take place in the USA. I couldn't stop laughing, although there were some sad parts.. Lovely conclusion and a great read.

This was a brilliantly refreshing read. I had been bogged down for a while reading some heavy topics and this was a great change. Note; you don't have to of read The Devil Wears Prada to read this.
I really enjoyed the separate voices of the three friends; Emily, Miranda and Karolina. In many ways, this 'bitchy chick lit' I found it to be incredibly heartwarming. Each of the friends went on their own journey both together and alone.
It was a great quick humorous read, and as far a the genre goes, I thought it was brilliant.

Terribly written and features terrible people. The fatphobia, agephobia and just general phobia for anyone who is not rich, white and thin is strong with this one.

This is not my preferred genre of novel but I like to read something very different to what I normally read every now and then just to make sure I'm not stuck in a reading rut. Unfortunately, I did not really enjoy The Wives. It was very much the wrong book for the wrong reader.
It was, however, an undemanding and fluffy read, written with a fair degree of sass and snark and if this is your bag I am pretty sure this is a fun example of the genre. Do not expect depth, emotional connection, complex characters, literary fiction standard writing or an engaging and rewarding plot.
