Jentezen Franklin has written a raw, honest book about the hard parts of walking in love. Difficult times with family members can challenge believers to apply God's truth to situations we don't feel prepared to face. Using personal experiences and wisdom, Franklin offers believers hope and practical actions to heal hurt between loved ones. This is hopeful and helpful, though it comes from a place of hurt.

This is a powerful book about doing what doesn't come naturally, loving like you've never been hurt. Our natural inclination is to lash out our want to hurt others in retaliation. What a beautiful and biblical concept presented here to live like Jesus loved. Highly recommend read!!

This is a book you HAVE to read. Everyone have been hurt, but not everybody knows how to deal with forgiveness (or the one who hurt).
We all know the christian principle of forgiving. The author emphasis the need (and the success) of loving the one(s) who has (have) hurt us. With personal stories and a very appealing writing style, the author catches you from understanding the hurt and the benefits of forgiving to loving yourself first and starting being kind.
I loved the chapter where he pleads for marriage and family. Very practical advices.

Having spent the majority of my life dealing with the residual pain of broken family relationships, I was a little concerned this book might be too overwhelming to read, that it might hit a little too close to home. My fear was just Satans attempt at keeping me from receiving the message that, yes, I too can heal even when the problems of the past have not resolved themselves. That I can take the peace found in healing and love and use it to help others, but that I must first learn to love myself just as Christ loves me. This is a beautiful book. Even if your current or past life is painful and you are afraid to consider reading this because it might hurt too much to open the door to the possibility of healing for good.....be brave and pick it up. It is a very easy read and it is honest. We all have messy lives, even a preachers family. We are to love God with all our heart and we are to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Love God, love yourself, love your neighbor...... those are the things we are supposed to be doing, loving. Love. There are many ways you can show love. This is not a narrow windowed book. It includes all versions of our complicated lives and complex relatives. Don't be afraid to pick it up if your family falls far, far under the perfect mark. Learn to love them despite that. The perfect mark is a fake anyway, no one has ever hit it but Jesus, and that's okay to admit you aren't perfect and neither is your family. This book will help you find a way to love, really love, love everyone, love yourself. All thanks to God's love for us.

I feel pretty emotional after reading this lovely book. Love like you've never been hurt. An amazing collection of self help with forgiving and quotes from the Bible to help you through whatever ordeal you may be going through. Some parts even made me cry. I think we all need a little help sometimes pushing through this lot we call life. I thought the passages of the Bible clearly helped to put his amazing points about forgiveness and healing yourself across. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who has been hurt or needs some soothing words to heal. I'm going to buy this in print, it's an amazing book that you can read over and over. Thanks to netgalley and the author for a copy to read and review. This just happened to be just what God needed me to read right now. Amazing book.

After a terrible betrayal, aren't they all? I struggle to find forgiveness for someone that I really just want to slap into the next county. I saw the title of this book an requested it before I read the whole description.

I did find it very helpful, despite all the heavy Christian/God stuff. I never understand why these pele have such a hard time with being gay and why that should be such a heartbreaker there is a consistent theme about this throughout- otherwise it is a thoughtful and helpful book.

I suspect I will need to read it a few times and the author does say that it can take quite a hil to find that kind of peace in your heart for someone is a total asshole, which gave me some peace since I can' seem to find any real compassion for the bad guy yet,

It is clear that many of us suffer such heartbreak and carry it without it necessarily being obvious, but profound nonetheless. I am grateful for this book and its message. While I don't enjoy anyone's else's misery- expect for the jerk who hurt me so badly- there is some comfort in knowing that others understand and must find a way forward as well.

There is some solace, he gives some ideas that forgiving is not giving the bad guy a bye, but a way to find some path through the anger, the frustration, the pain and find a way to live with what happened.

What a powerful and tender book about the work of love and forgiveness. I appreciate the way that the author adds his own personal stories to the book. To me, it gives the book a level of authenticity that leads to the power of his words and his suggestions. Great book.

I have read books by Jentezen Franklin before. "Right People Right Place Right Plan" was a great book by Franklin as well. I knew that his latest book would be no different. I was not wrong, it was transformative and healing to read. So many of us need to read books that will inspire us to push past the pain. God wants us to be healed and whole. As Franklin stated, " This sickness can only be healed by love". God sends the right people into our lives when we need them most. This book touched my soul and my spirit.
