I always love it when short stories of poetry look at this specific brand of humour where it is really nothing more than the surface. I remember reading 'Nonsense verse' in school and have always enjoyed anything that remotely resembles it.
It was a fun read for me, but I am not sure if everyone likes this specific cateogory of tidbits of stories.

A delightful collection of short stories which would be great to read to young children, and then when they are older they can read them for themselves. Lovely length of story, just right for bedtime and with some lovely characters in them, I especially loved Elsie and Doris and their extra special Button Box.

From the description of the book, I expected it to be more humorous. I just did not like the stories or the writing. This book was not for me.

If you need a quick, fun read to boost your attitude, this just might do the trick. Each short story, for readers from pre-teens to senior citizens provides a memorable moral.

These are short stories that are actually a bit strange. I really only enjoyed one of them, the rest fell rather flat for me. Some people may enjoy this type of story, they had a bit of a message that was explained at the end of each one, but they were a bit far fetched and often ended rather bluntly. This is not a book that I would recommend.

These stories fit the book title perfectly- they are indeed quick to read and very quirky in content ! I appreciate fiction where I can't always predict the outcome and I very much enjoyed the tenor of the collection. I also loved the illustrations. All in all , an enjoyable read. I hope the couple produce another such tome.

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review. And

This book was an enjoyable and humorous read. It made a complete change from the books i usually read and I was sad when it ended.
I hope this couple produce more books like this in the future and feel sure we all have room for a book like this at some point in our lives.
I was given this book by NetGalley and the publisher. This is my voluntary and impartial review.

Did not get the point of the story. The stories have potential, but I think it needs a good polish.

Come here for simple but unexpected scenarios that you don't get elsewhere in short story publishing – then see very little come from them.

I am usually a fan of short stories, however I felt this was aimed at children rather than adults and found it a bit silly. I wouldn't recommend this to my friends or family.

Interesting short stories, a fun and quick read. Not very deep, but with nice illustrations.

Having read description that the book is humourous with simple glance at life, I expect to read a book that at least will make me smile or maybe somewhat contemplative. However after finish the book, I feel that maybe this book isn’t for me.

The stories are very short, although it is an acceptable length for kids, yet the content itself is too mature and might not be understood by kids. In some stories, the moral values is clear, like the story about race horse. In another it left me feeling baffled and confused, like just what happen after reading the first story, Button.

The most favorite part for me is the last story, Mystery Suitcase. The bit of humor, the mild irritation, and judgement toward self and ther person is somewhat satisfying. Not to mention the added sprinkle of mystery.

Well this was a rather odd book. I had expected short stories which would be fun and easy to read. However, they appeared to be stories that seemed like they should have a parallel meaning and therefore a moral, just without the moral. The first chapter is a good example; a whole story about buttons, and a gang choosing to steal the buttons. Now at the conclusion of the story, there was no moral or second meaning, it was simply just a story about some buttons. I fail to see where the amusement or enjoyment is in that, and therefore this book left me simply baffled.
