Ashley, Natalie and Lauren have been friends for a long time, but the past few years has put a strain on their friendship. Lauren and Ashley had a falling out after Lauren's husband died, with Lauren blaming Ashley for his death. The company that Natalie and Ashley co-own has had an offer from Revlon to be purchased for a large sum of money. Natalie wants to sell but Ashley keeps refusing. The girls go to Mexico for a vacation, to see if it is possible to mend their friendships. While they are there Ashley goes missing and everyone becomes a suspect.
This book is told in the perspective of each of the ladies, and alternates between the days leading up to the disappearance and afterwards. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and it kept me guessing until the very end. This is perfect for everyone who loves a good mystery.

Girls’ Night Out is a clever book about friendship with an extra dose of intrigue. Three women journey to Tulum, Mexico to reunite and repair their friendship. But once together, each woman holds back, and during what was supposed to be a fun night out, one of the women disappears. In the aftermath, the remaining two women try to figure out what happens.
The story moves from the point of view of each of the women while also moving back and forth through time. In a less skilled writer’s hands, this could result in a very confusing plot, but I liked how secrets were revealed slowly versus waiting until the end of the novel find out everything.
For fans of Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke, I highly recommend this book. I'd like to thank NetGalley for providing me an advanced copy.

Ashley, Natalie and Lauren have been friends for years, but their relationship has been strained lately and seems on the point of breaking. Desperate to save their friendship, Ashley invites the other two on a trip to Mexico, hoping the vacation will help them solve their problems. However, things only get worse once in Mexico, and on their last morning there Natalie and Lauren wake up to find Ashley has disappeared. What happened to her?
Girls' Night Out was the perfect beach read: easy and fast to read, overall entertaining even if not particularly memorable.
The main focus of the book, apart from Ashley's disappearance, was the darker side of long-term friendships. I enjoy reading about this theme, but despite the fact the authors spent a lot of time on it, I didn't connect with the characters much. They were quite unlikeable and seemed much younger than their actual age, and their misunderstandings frustrated me a lot. Overall I didn't find them very compelling.
The chapters alternated between the three women's point of views and between past and present, and this worked well for me. It wasn't confusing, and it kept my interest in the story even if it wasn't extremely fast paced. The ending, however, was a little lame. I wasn't happy with it, and I didn't find it convincing.

Girls Night Out is a twisted thriller. Three friends try to revive their old friendship with a girl’s trip to Mexico. Each girl has their own secrets that are very realistic in many marriages. Ashley disappears during the trip. Natalie and Lauren try to put the pieces of the trip together and find Ashley. Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke write another book filled from cover to cover with suspense.

What an amazing story! Based on the authors’ last book, I went in expecting another good thriller. While “Girls Night Out” certainly met that expectation, I was more intrigued by their thought-provoking analysis of long-term friendships. Anyone who has friends they’ve known for awhile will instantly be able to relate to the three main characters in this story. The authors have done a great job in layering the perspectives of Natalie, Lauren, and Ashley from both before and after “the night.” It was especially interesting that each woman had her own secrets that were revealed as the main “mystery” was unraveled. I thought the authors did a phenomenal job of illustrating the difficulties middle-aged women have when they come to a crossroads in life, and how even confiding in long-term friends can be a challenge. A definite must-read!

3.5 Stars on this one....
What I liked: The overall premise and story were solid. The writing was very good. I did like the flipping between past and present, as well as point of views from the 3 main characters.
What I didn’t like: The ending and the “twist,” if that’s what it was. Also the women were whiny and at times annoying, although I’m sure truthful - there are probably women just like them out there.

I don’t even know where to begin with this amazing book!! I literally could not put it down! I read it in one sitting! So wonderfully written!

Thank you NetGalley & the publisher for the opportunity to read and give a review on Girls Night Out. I won’t give any spoilers. I really enjoyed reading this book. I didn’t want the story to end as I could not get enough of these characters and the plot of the story just kept getting better & better as I got further along in the book. I highly recommended this book for you to read. This is my very first book from Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke and I’m looking forward to reading more from them.

Natalie, Ashley, and Lauren have been best friends since college but they drifted apart and have not spoken in a few years. In hope of repairing their broken friendship, Ashley invites the girls on a spur of the moment trip to Mexico.
Ashley is hopeful that the trip to Mexico will magically bring the girls back together...but little did the girls know that their lives will be turned upside down. After a tragic fight one night between the girls, Ashley disappears. Has she been hurt? Where could she have possibly gone??
The story is told from multiple POV's between Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren plus different timelines. Now, I usually always enjoy multiple POV but in this case... it didn't work at all for me. The timeline would alternate between 2 days before/3 days before Ashley's disappearance etc. This was hugely distracting for me and didn't work at all.
I was confused and couldn't keep up with the different alternating time frames of back and forth.
And... I had a hard time connecting with the women. I honestly felt like all three character were selfish and spoiled. AND honestly, I felt like I was hit in the head with a frisbee multiple times constantly hearing about the fighting between the girls. Especially Natalie and Ashley receiving an offer from Revlon who wants to buy the company they share together. They're constantly fighting about one wanting to sell and the other wanting to keep the company. Ugh... this was majorly annoying and not that interesting either.
It was pretty slow to pick up and didn't get invested until about 50 percent in. Mmm... I honestly wasn't really that impressed with this book.
I've heard great things about this author and I wanted to love it but I of course am the outlier on this one again.
Overall, 2.5 stars for me on this one.
Thank you so much to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.

Immediately after starting this book I was intrigued by the plot and characters. I couldn't stop thinking about what was going to happen and was drawn to keep reading. Unfortunately I didn't care for the characters. I struggled to find likeable qualities and to root for them to solve their problems. This did not deter me from loving the plot and writing style. Flipping back and forth between time periods and characters really kept my interest. Overall this was a great book that I was easy and enjoyable to read.

While I loved The Good Widow, I did not enjoy this book quite as much. It was a little more slow moving and the characters not not terribly
Iikeable.. Maybe it was just me, but I thought it was just OK. I am sure there are many who will think it is a terrific summer, beach read.

Having not read Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke's previous novels, I had no idea what to expect at all. What was promised at the start of the synopsis on the NetGalley listing was "a chilling novel of psychological suspense that will make you think twice about what your best friend may be hiding…". I'm afraid if you're hoping for a thriller you're in the wrong place, this is definitely more suited to the chick lit/women's fiction genre.
The concept is one that has been reused countless times, but can still make for a good read provided it is written and executed well. The writing was fine but I feel I am only able to rate it on what I expected - a thriller. I feel this would be perfectly suited to those who enjoy the chick lit/women's fiction genre. As I don't appreciate books from that genre it wasn't for me i'm afraid.
Many thanks to Lake Union Publishing for an ARC. I was not required to post a review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the chance to read and review.
I so loved this book! Kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens. It was very well written with extremely strong characters. A happy firm 5 star on this one!

Girls' Night Out, quite like The Good Widow was a mind boggling read. The ending was absolutely baffling, and it left me on the edge.
Girls'Night Out is the story of three best friends, who've had issues for the past one year. Contrary to the 'besties' label, there's a lot of bad blood among them. Their issues come to light as the story moves forward.
The story begins with Ashley's disappearance and Natalie's lost memory. Natalie was the last one to see Ashley, and now she couldn't remember anything. Was that a coincidence? Or was she lying?
Add a con man who'd been trapping Ashley and you have a suspense packed thriller!
There were a lot of elements in the story, and a lot of suspects too. I spent all the while switching from one person to another, convinced that they'd killed Ashley. Well, as expected, the ending proved me totally wrong!
Girls'Night Out was so full of suspense and thrill that I just couldn't put it down until I finished it. Liz & Lisa did a phenomenal job once again, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to read it!

This was a wild and fun read. When one of three friends goes missing on a girl's trip to Mexico, you are left questioning if it was the guy she met on the trip or worse, could it be that one of the friends played a role in the disappearance. After jumping back and forth in time the surprise ending will definitely leave you satisfied.

These authors are some of my favorites and it pains me to give Girls' Night Out 3 stars.
I loved the setting and have visited that same area myself. The authors did a great job setting the scene, the descriptions are on point and I often felt as if I were there again.
The characters though. Ashley and Natalie are business partners with a huge rift in their relationship due to a major decision that they're split on. Lauren hasn't been part of their lives in more than a year when Ashley decides to invite her along on the trip as a way to mend fences between them all.
Unfortunately things begin to go wrong for these 3 ladies right from the beginning and it just gets worse for them from there. I love the idea of a girls vacation where friends go to chill out and get closer. It would be so fun except....except these ladies were all terribly immature and the petty arguments between them got rather old. And then when one of them meets a man on this weekend, things get worse.
The mystery was well woven throughout the story and definitely offered various people that could be 'the bad guy' and while the ending didn't seem to really fit for me, I did enjoy it.
Overall I would probably purchase this in paperback or borrow from the library, but I'm not sure I'd be thrilled had I spent much money on this novel. The authors did say at the end that this book about tore their friendship apart and maybe it was those disagreements and issues between them that colored their writing. I'm not sure, but I am disappointed that I felt this way about Girls' Night Out.
Thanks to Netgalley for allowing me to read an ARC.

Three estranged friends - Ashely, Natalie and Lauren - decide to take a girls trip to Tulum to heal their friendships and reconnect. When Ashely disappears one night after drinking and fighting, Natalie and Lauren try and put the puzzle pieces together to find out what really happened. Had she been kidnapped? Were Ashley's two "friends" really involved?
This book had me turning the pages as quickly as I could to get answers - it was intriguing and suspenseful! Great read!
Thank you to Liz Fenton, Lisa Steinke, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this great book!

Just finished the advanced reader copy of Girls’ Night Out by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. I recently grabbed The Good Widow on the kindle book deal and it was great! This one is even better!!! Three friends head to Tulum Mexico to work on their strained friendship and one goes missing. I really enjoyed this one! Comes out July 24th and I’ll be reminding y’all!!!

I could not put Girls’ Night Out down! Thank you Lake Union publishing for the e-galley in exchange for an honest review! One of the best books of the year so far. Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren head to Mexico to sort out some conflicts from the past year and get back to being close friends. In Tulum, things go from bad to worse when Ashley disappears after a rough night out on the last day of the trip. Natalie has no recollection of what happened. The book goes from current time, back to the beginning of the trip, and jumps around in time and view point. I love books like that, as it builds suspense and reveals information as needed in an organic way rather than through “staged” conversations or situations, I thought it added quite a nice flow to the whole reveal. I also loved that it was set in Tulum. Such a beautiful setting with good food and drinks being discussed, it made me want to hop on a plane! Must be time for another beach vacation for me! The only thing I did not love about the book was Ashley’s character but I’ve had friends like her so she is a character type I love to hate! I am much more like Natalie so it’s no surprise Ashley annoyed me. I flew through the book in two evenings despite it’s length and highly recommend Girls’ Night Out for a summer or beach read. It draws you in, keeps you guessing, and is very entertaining. Publishing July 24/18.

I wanted to like this book, but I just had a hard time getting into it. I kept getting the girls confused, and didn't find any of the characters very likable.
