This is the first book I have read by this author and it didn’t disappoint.

Hebe, an historian has always had a thing for Helwyn House and an earlier occupant Thomas Grylls. On discovering she has early onset Alzheimer’s and the house is for sale she decides to buy the house and relocate to Cornwall leaving everything in her life behind.

Lucy, Hebe’s niece has been banished to Cornwall after an incident in London involving a public figure. She has been chosen to keep an eye on Hebe who is acting out of character. Lucy has unhappy memories of Helwyn House and would rather be anywhere but Cornwall..

An excellent book dealing with a tough subject, the close relationship between Hebe and Lucy is heartwarming. This is a story with some wonderful characters, secrets and romance which was hard to put down. Recommended.

This is by an author that never disappoints at all. Historical, Romance, love and secrets, set in the most stunning of places. It has the most wonderful characters and storyline, you cannot want anything more in a book then is in this. a must read.
There are two main characters Hebe and Lucy, they have secrets to keep with a story to take you away in thought. Her last book from this was simply amazing and this is a step above so we can't go any further than say simply amazing read.

What does a rather spooky, crumbling pile, of a once stately house, in the back end of the Cornish nowhere have to do with: a family that used to spend their summers there, a Tory MP, a scandal, an Hollywood Actor, Alzheimer’s, a love story from the 17th Century and a Metaphysical Poet?
They are all strands, that cleverly come together in the brilliant new novel by Liz Fenwick, "One Cornish Summer". I can highly recommend this as both an interesting yet easy read – one that I didn’t want to put down but was really sad to have finished.
As they say, you can’t choose your family....but you can choose your books!
