I must have missed giving this one feedback at the time so apologies for that.
I didn't realise at first that it was a novella but it was perfect to pick up lunchtimes at work without having to familiarise myself too much with what I'd read so far.
My kind of genre, excellently executed and full of the usual tension, twists and gasps that we have come to expect from this author.
Great.

This is a story about the CIA and its operatives. A young woman with a very chequered past is given the chance of a new job with a specialist CIA team but all is not what it seems. a very quick, fast paced read.

The Novella filled in missing details for the Drake series. Short and sweet, I enjoyed it. As always action packed.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story, really great story line! Well written throughout and some nice twists along the way.

Great start to a potentially exciting new series of fast action stories with a damaged lead character. Can't wait to see this develop.

This is a compelling exciting thriller condensed into a Novella. I enjoyed the fast paced action and great characters. . Kiera is a fantastic Protagonist and very smart as she works within a mans world with courage and bravado. I look forward to reading more books by this author about the exciting team ! Lots of fast paced action made this a fun read.
Thank you for the ARC which does not influence my review.

Excellent pacing, plenty of action and a believable, contemporary female protagonist, all make this novella worth reading. Despite its length, the plot is sufficiently complex to intrigue, and even though I have not read any of the previous novels, the main characters are detailed enough to make them relatable.
Keira is fiercely independent, and while she is not suited to the rigid rules of the military, her courage, ingenuity and a strong survival instinct make her a candidate for special ops in the CIA. I liked the dual timeline, which gives the reader insight into Keira's tragic past and evidence of why she is the person she is.
Chernobyl provides a bleak and sinister setting for this story, and the danger of discovery underlines the high octane action. The final plot twist will surprise many and sets the stage for more missions with Keira and Ryan Drake's team. If you enjoy 'Stike Back' on TV, then this story will provide all the adrenaline-fuelled action and snarky character interaction you need.
I received a copy of this book from Canelo via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A Ryan Drake Novella.

Drake and his team must go to Ukraine to find a compromised CIA source - but is new member Keira Frost up to the job? Tech specialist Frost has just graduated to the big league. But despite numerous commendations for outstanding achievement and a tour of duty under her belt, it's a reputation for subordination that precedes her with Agency field ops.

Tech specialist Kiera Frost has to find a way to fit in with the CIA's Shepherd team. The action soon starts and the twists keep coming. We get glimpses into Keira's past and this helps the reader understand what has made her into the angry woman she is. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will certainly look out for more from him in the future.

I would like to thank NetGalley, Canelo and the author Will Jordan for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Great read. I’ve not read any of this series so this novella is a good introduction and I’ll definitely be back for more. I didn’t see the ending coming - despite the title! and I loved the strong female character.

A novella from the Ryan Drake series, I have not read any of the books yet, but have the first on my to read shelf. This story follows one of his team members and gives a back story of her past and first mission. Good book that moved at a nice pace, a good introduction for new readers to Will Jordan and probably a nice back story for current readers.
