Spicy read! I read the original, much shorter versions, of these stories, and enjoyed this first back into their world to look more deeply! New plot lines and I just have to know what happens next, now!

This is basically books one and two of the PPA combined to give us one very good story. I have to say it is much better this way as we are getting a more cohesive and comprehensive storyline.
Having this new and longer version was interesting as we get much more about Ilona, Calcite and Granite and more about their background which really made this story for me.
Read the original two books ages ago and loved them but thought they were overpriced for what you were getting.
This is my honest review of this book.

This is another great paranormal romance from the author. I love that you get two hot gargoyles who are eager to protect Iliona. The men had a tragic start but get an opportunity for love when they are called to protect. The story is well written and has a lot of romance and action. It is a pretty quick read and one that delivers a great experience.

Mina is just an awesome writer, Hearts of Stone she opens a new series for us to go gaga over.
I love the women her stories as much as I adore the men. No weeping willows or floormats but strong, sexy, sassy and intelligent heroines.

Iliona is crazy awesome with an up and coming business, her no-nonsense attitude about paranormals doesn't isn't seen the same by a great many a people. It doesn't stop her from being fair or being involved.

Twin brothers have a new foothold in life working in a diner, yeah not the fangirl type of job but it was better than what they were doing.

Running a Paranormal Protection Agency is far from easy and not always if ever friendly. Iliona runs up against all kinds and a mere human not always the best defense against the Para's.

Pretty cool start on a new series I'll be watching for the next book to see what Mina has in store for us. An easy run read this was that wasn't too long nor too short. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC. Enjoy

This was an unexpected story of Cal and Gran and the woman they both wanted Iliona. Iliona has been making up for her past for a long time and kicking butt doing it. Cal & Gran, they have been around for a long while. But it takes Iliona to make them see the world around them. I really enjoyed the visuals built up of the two gargoyles. The pace and action was great - I didn't stop reading. There is bound to be more to their story as well as all of the others that come after this book. This is only the first in the PPA series.

The more I read, the happier I was to realize this is the beginning of a new series

I loved the world building here, and the Paranormal Protection Agency. Iliona has a little personal guilt on the how paranormals are treated front, but she doesn't sit idly by with regrets, instead she does something to try and make her corner of the world a better place.

Cal and Gran were interesting characters, the more we got to know them, the more sense their differences made. It can be easy to look at siblings and assume their lives have been the same, but a single, tragically different day can make a world of difference.

I was gifted with a copy of this book, and chose to post a review. I am particularly interested in more stories from the Paranormal Protection Agency as we met some of the other characters who work there, and it felt full of potential.

Saved by a mysterious paranormal, Iliona Graham, bounty hunter and owner of the Paranormal Protection Agency, found herself deep attracted to him. Calcite and Granite, matching set of gargoyles, shared a bond deeper than siblings. Free from the enchantment that had kept them captives in their stone form now they walk in the word intended to be protectors. Different characters but identical twins, both felt attracted to the woman they keep saving from the evil chasing her. When stone statues were found smashed they knew someone was dealing with dark magic and threatening they all. An interesting plot development with strong emotions, suspense, secrets, magic, monsters, darkness, romance and a ménage with lot of heated passion. Interesting Granite struggle with his secret and his feelings. Enjoyed the chemistry between them.

A kick ass character made for an awesome read that only gets better as she meet the men that will make a hard lasting impression. Love the connection that Illiona has with Cal and Gan. From their first meeting Cal and Illiona had a spark that only heats up. Their chemistry heats up more when Gan enters the picture. This story is filled with twists that made for an interesting and enjoyable read as the three are involve in something more than they expect. This is a definite one click for anyone who love reading paranormal romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

~I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.~

This is the first time that I have read this book and it was such a good way to re-introduce the Paranormal Protection Agency. I have read the latter book in the series, but not the owner of the agency's HEA.

Unlike her other books, this one was pretty serious and it give this vibe that you have to watch out for the next book in the series.

For those who read this, you will fall in love with the three of them allover again.

Ms. Carter's books are worth the wait. Each page is simply written that you can go back to what you read, if you are reading multiple books~ like me.~

This is a great little story, just the right amount of kiss ass heroine and two different than the average hero paranormal. I fell in love with Cal, Gran and Iliona. All in all a pretty sweet deal read.

Thanks to Netgalley for the chance to read and review.

I do not know what I expected when I started this book. The word usage is wonderful as the author is able to make you picture in your mind what is unfolding.
Cal and Granite are gargoyles, brothers, twins in fact.
Iliona Graham is the female main character.. She runs a personal protection and security business .and she employs paranormals. Every day she goes out for coffee, this where she meets Calcite, or Cal .
She is not aware that he has a brother....she meets him at a later time in the book.
Anyone who reads this book should enjoy it .

Hearts of Stone is a rewrite of Hard As Rock and Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The previous books were short and began in the middle of the action. They were good but this is so much better.

There is mor details about Iliona, Cal and Gran’s past. We find out how Cal and Gran came into existence. She meets both of them at different times and both of them come to her rescue. There is a lot more action in this one with Iliona being arrack numerous times and a mystery to be solved.

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this story and the characters. It's well written and flows well. It has a great story line and I loved the new world that Mina Carter introduced us to. Iliona is a kickbutt heroine but she knows when she is facing something that she really doesn't stand a chance against. She is human and when the paranormal comes there's only so much you can do against certain things. Luckily for her, she has a couple of gargoyles that have a thing for her. Cal has been drawn to Iliona for awhile. When he rescues her, it gets them talking and as they are both drawn to each other, things go from there. I thought it was great how Gran was drawn in to this as well. Gran and Cal are "twins". Don't want to spoil anything, it's all explained in the story. This story had plenty of sexual tension, action, and intrigue. Something is happening with young gargoyles being smashed and Cal and Iliona are looking into it. They just never expected it to be so close to home. I loved a lot of the secondary characters as well and would love to get to know them better. This story pretty much focuses on just Cal, Gran and Iliona. It pulled me in from beginning to end. I'm super excited for another one set in this world.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
