This is a brilliant, creepy psychological thriller. It felt like it took time to get going, but it was just building the tension. It kept that tension up throughout and what an ending!!

A chilling and gripping thriller, which kept me on the edge of my seat.
Elle is living in her dream house, built by the sea using the proceeds from her book deal, after separating from her husband Elle is looking to start afresh. When strange things start happening with the house she really doesn’t know what whats been going on and even begins to think she may be going mad.
A fantastic thriller that I would highly recommend.

This is the 5th book for Lucy Clarke but only the 2nd that I have read, but I will definitely be looking to read more.

This was the first novel I’ve read by Lucy Clarke, but it won’t be the last. I approached this book with great hopes but no expectations whatsoever. It totally blew me away. Definitely a page-turner. I loved the tautness and tension of the plot, the way it builds to a crescendo without revealing too much before the riveting denouement.

The heroine, Elle, is an author with an idyllic writer's life on the surface, but cracks soon become apparent once it is exposed to closer scrutiny. Whilst sharing carefully orchestrated, tantalising glimpses of her beautiful writing room, writing life and perfect cliff top home via social media, she hides her history, her anxieties and fears, secrets and failing relationships.

A series of strange occurrences happen after letting her home on Airbnb, causing her nerves to be shredded by the thought of her privacy and home being invaded by an unknown person, who leaves faint but discernible traces of their presence. It leads to her distrusting friend, family and foe.

Disturbing psychological elements increase as the story unfolds. Everyone Elle knows comes under scrutiny as a potential intruder, inadvertently given access. The narrative splits between present day events and those that took place several years before, when she was a university student and had a defining, life changing experience.

It becomes increasingly relevant to the present and also cause for concern, because the person she unwittingly let in seems to know about it as well. This is a cleverly written book, full of surprising twists and turns, that will have you burning the midnight oil as it races towards its breathless, unforeseen conclusion. I highly recommend it.

This is the kind of book which draws you in slowly and has you questioning everything you are reading. The way the author has written this story, we know that someone has been in Elle’s house. We know that she isn’t imagining things are going wrong. We just don’t know who is doing it. When the reveal comes I was surprised to say the least.

The story was written well but I felt it took quite some time to get to the nitty gritty. I enjoyed the story.

Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy.

Elle Fielding, an author, rents her house out for two weeks while she is in France. She has a spectacular cliff top home in Cornwall.when she returns home everything feels different. Objects have been moved slightly out of place, an ornament had been broken and her much loved writing room had been unlocked. Elle starts feeling uneasy, just who has been in her home? Her older sister Fiona, tells her it's her imagination and that she has a creative mind that's working overtime.

This book is a bit unsettling at times. I also found it a bit unsettling at times. I also found it a bit confusing with what was past, what was present and what was part of the book the Elle was writing. Elle was a complex character and I just could not relate to her. Unfortunately this book was not my cup of tea. I struggled to keep up with the storyline. I'm sure there will be many readers who will disagree with me.

I would like to thank NetGalley, HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction and the author Lucy Clarke for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Lucy Clarke novel I have read but I can't wait to read more. A psychological thriller that will make the hair on your neck stand up! Elle Fielding is writing her second novel, after the unexpected spectacular success of her first. All had seemed perfect in her life with the success but then things started to crumble. She is living in a stunning clifftop house in Cornwall which she and her husband had planned, but he is no longer with her. There is a slow burn of her life in the background and the faster pace of her current struggle with the ' second book' and the enormous pressure it brings. The story builds as she suspects she has some kind of stalker but also worries that her chronic insomnia may be affecting her mind and decisions. It's a great read, with a bit of a twist in the tale.

Elle Fielding is a successful writer whose debut novel sold remarkably well. She is now working on her second and feeling the pressure of expectation, not to mention a looming deadline. Elle lives in a beautiful house on the Cornish coast bought following the success of her first book, but as the story continues we realise that things are missing from her life that material possession cannot compensate for.

While on a writing retreat, Elle lets out her home on Air BnB, and on her return begins to notice strange things about the house - small things missing, minor breakages, and a sense that something is wrong. As the situation becomes more sinister, Elle casts about trying to work out who she can trust - and who she can't. The angry next door neighbour, the over-familiar local librarian, her ex-husband and her online fans all come sources of suspicion and fear. A tightly written, well-paced page turner with a distinctly different feel to most other books in this genre. Well worth a read.

Where to begin with this book?! I absolutely loved it - it has everything I want from a story. It's simultaneously fast-paced and slow-burning, if that's even possible? You're constantly in Elle's head, flitting from one anxiety to another, inside her memories and inside her manuscript.

You Let Me In is more than your average a psychological thriller; it gets inside your head, making you want to devour it in one sitting. And how very apt that I read it while being stuck in editing my second book (though my first isn't an international bestseller - yet!). A brilliant concept, an author writing about being an author - they do say write what you know, after all! Clarke captured everything so brilliantly, from the wider themes all the way down to the beautiful, descriptive language.

Bonus points for being set in Cornwall & featuring the very real aspect of emmets coming down from up country and buying up all the property.

Elle Fielding is a celebrated author on a tight deadline for her second (and eagerly anticipated) novel when she finally moves in to her Cornish retreat. The house she has always dreamed of. Except it’s not anymore. Not really.

Because it’s the house she and her husband created together and now he’s gone.

Elle is lonely.

Recently out of the country on a writing retreat she reluctantly rented the house to an Air BnB user.

Now the house doesn’t feel the same.

Elle tells herself she is imagining things. But broken and missing possessions tell her otherwise.

“It’s all in your head”

“Liar”

Elle has heard those words before, a long time ago.

Hearing them again makes her feel like she is going mad. Her writers imagination working overtime. Her closest friends and family concerned for her welfare.

But Elle knows that something just isn’t right.

You Let Me In reminded me a lot of Clare Mackintosh’ first novel. I think mainly because I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen next....

And the novel nearing its conclusion completely floored me with a subtle twist that I could’ve spotted, if only I’d looked a bit harder!

You Let Me Lie is a fabulous novel and I can’t wait for this authors next offering.

If you like your psychological thrillers to provide you with a good dose of goosebumps, then look no further than ' You Let Me In' by Lucy Clarke!

Not knowing anything about the book, I went in blind...and I suggest you do the same! This is the type of book that the less you know going in, the better the reading experience will be. Needless to say, I won't be delving into any particular details, except to say that this will grab you hostage from the get go, with its tension filled plot, well written characters and chilling twists and turns, I have nothing but great things to say about this psychological thriller. You'll certainly be missing out if you don't get your hands on a copy.

I'd like to thank Netgalley, Harper Collins UK and the author for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.

Wow this is what a psychological thriller should be !! This will give you goosebumps with all its twists and turns.

Lucy Clarke is one of my favourite authors and I have read all of her previous books and loved them. This latest book does not disappoint, I think it may well be my favourite of them all.

I really don’t want to say too much as I don’t want to give anything away. I read this book without knowing what it was about and I am so pleased I did. It will gain your interest from the very first page and keep you hooked until the very end.

I absolutely loved all of the characters, they are so well written, that you will feel part of the story yourself. You are guaranteed to feel the tension with them.

I truely cannot fault this psychological thriller and I highly recommend you read this for yourself. A great tense psychological thriller that you really don’t want to miss. You have to read this book !!

Thank you to HarperCollins UK and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.

Oh Lucy Clarke, yet again you play your readers so well.

For those of us who follow Lucy on social media, this novel at times makes you feel it is scarily close to the truth…there are clues dangled before us, which may, or may not, enable us to have a glimpse into the author’s life. Facebook live feeds, tweets- yes they’re all there!

But how reliable is our narrator…

This is such a clever novel. We are drip fed information and I was hooked the whole time. I believed in the characters, I lived the story, I felt frustrated and wasn’t sure how it was going to be resolved. The clever twist did not disappoint.

Having read all of Lucy’s novels, I was really looking forward to it, and am happy to say she has not let me down. I now know when I have one of her books to read, I need to put time aside, as they are unputdownable, and yet again I will recommend this book to everybody.

Elle, a writer working on her second novel following her internationally acclaimed debut, is struggling for money following the breakdown of her marriage.
On the advice of her sister, she takes a short holiday in France whilst letting her house out as an Airbnb.
But on her return, despite the house being immaculate, Elle cannot escape the feeling that she isn't alone and something isn't quite right.....

Suspenseful, twisty narrative with a character that you gradually get to know as well as insight into the devastating process of trying to write with writer's block is brilliantly conveyed in 'You Let Me In'.
Elle isn't a particularly likeable character to start with(imho) but as you get to know her through the course of the book , clues are dripped through the story as to her motivations, her mental state and the reason she lives in that huge empty(or is it?) house on the edge of real, and metaphorical, cliff.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Harper Collins for letting me read this in return for an honest review!

This was a brilliant Psychological Thriller that kept me in suspense the whole way through the story . Highly recommend this book .

Please don't read this book if you live in a large house and you're alone. I don't read many psychological thrillers, having just finished another one of the genre I delved straight into this one. I'm now a bit of convert, and ordered another book by Lucy straight after finishing this one, which illustrates how much I enjoyed it. It kept my interest until the end, it certainly spooked me in a few places. The best part was I never guessed the end and what a stonker it was. To me a book is only great if the ending is fantastic and pulls all of the pieces together, of which this book succeeded.

Elle is a successful author, struggling to complete her second book. She has a beautiful house but lives alone and her life is a social media filter.

As she goes on a book tour she decides to rent her perfect, Cornwall house out using AirBnB.....but when she returns something doesn’t feel right...

There’s a sinister neighbour, events in her house which scare her, such as locked doors, messages left in the condensation on windows or words written in library copies of her books.....is This real or a figment of Elle’s imagination?

Fiona, Elle’s sister lives nearby and is there to offer support along with her husband Bill....they worry that Elle is struggling...

Lucy Clarke has written a very absorbing tale.....there are so many possible suspects, just who is terrifying Elle and why.....it starts quite slow with little background chapters which I felt didn’t seem relevant, but my was I wrong....the tension builds and builds until a stunning twister of a reveal.....brilliant

I would like to thank the Author/the Publishers/NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review

Kept me guessing right to the end. The first part of the book was like Girl on a Train to me. I was frustrated by Elle's drinking and not getting on with the job at hand viz finishing the second novel and the deadline getting nearer and nearer. I kept thinking "Has she actually written the first book or has she stolen it from someone at University?". Then the pace picked up with suspects coming thick and fast. Read and enjoy..

What a great story with an ending that surprised me so much! You always know if someone has touched your stuff but when you think someone has been in your house in a room that was locked then crazy things start going round in your head and if your an author its worse as you already have all the crazy ideas.
So when Elsie lets out her house while she is away at a writing break through the airbnb she goes off to enjoy her writing and all is good until she comes back. Strange things are happening, is it in her mind or not, she does not really know what to believe but her actions are beginning to worry people.
Why didn't she just lock the house up and leave it instead of getting people in to rent it, this Elsie will say over and over. Just what is going on and who is doing this or is she really imagining all this?
Brilliant story and best seller.

This is the second book of this author that I have read and really enjoyed both. Many twists and turns and red herrings to keep you intrigued but I felt the ending was a bit rushed and could have been written with just a bit more detail.. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it
