I don't really know where to start with this book. It took me many chapters to get into it, but I must mention that the author's writing itself is spectacular. It was the story. It was confusing and the first chapter really didn't draw me in and that's something I always look for when reading the book; it leads me into the rest of the story. The first chapter felt like it started in the middle of a story and therefore left me more confused. Obviously, once you're passed the initial chapters, everything seems to slot into place... as much as a psychological thriller does.

I'm still a bit unsure with the characters; the over friendly Bill, fan-girl Laura, the ex-wife of a rapist, the sister, Elle Fielding herself... there's such a mix of different personalities that it's hard to put the thoughts I have for them down. I liked Elle, I really did, even with everything that came to light, she still ended up being my favourite character. I liked Laura, I loved her unabashed fan-girling (reminds me of myself when I meet some of my favourite authors), Bill creeped me out a little bit, but overall seemed okay. Fiona... I don't think she's the most supportive of people at all. I was never keen on her character.

I really didn't like the ending either. I think the epilogue ruined the whole book for me really (though I'm not using stars to reflect on that, the 4 stars I have give are for the plot, the suspense, the shock, and the writing style of the author) because I just think it was taken way too far. I can't say more than that because I don't want to ruin it for other authors.

I did enjoy this story, found myself quite gripped and hooked in some places, but overall there's stuff that could be changed to make it an exceptional read.

Love the author's writing style; the words used, the way things were described... it was brilliant and gritty, definitely draws the reader in. But, as mentioned above, some things just didn't do it for me.
Maybe, because psychological thrillers are my favourite, I may expect more than I should when reading them. This did have the shock and twisty factor which is great though.

I was so absorbed in this book, the house the story the characters and where on earth it would lead! Brilliant writing and a really unique storyline.

Imagine having the book deal of all book deals to enable you to build the house of your dreams to sit and watch the waves roll in whilst writing your next novel, what would you give up for all that? Is it worth losing friends and family...your mind, even? You Let Me In is definitely got potential for greater things, I could imagine the locations, the smells and the people (though the descriptions of the ‘dead of night’ were getting a bit tiresome) and you could just picture the movie cut-scenes!

At the end though, I did feel there were some loose ends which could have been tied up a little better especially when it came to family. It could have done with a little more depth to the ending as it didn’t live up to the rest of the book for me.

Some excellent storylines with believable characters but a little bit of a confused storyline at times.

This is my first book by Lucy Clarke and I’ll absolutely be checking out the rest

The psychological thriller centers on Elle, a famous author living in a coastal mansion in Cornwall, close to her sister and separated husband. Her life looks idyllic but, as I’m sure you’ve guessed, it isn’t!

In the current wave of books, we know a twist is coming so we guess from page one. Although I got it right, I couldn’t have guessed at the details and I love a book that surprises me. Well worth a read.

Found this book to be one of the 'most enthralling book I have read.
The author takes you through Elle's story from her eyes, it is only further in you realise something is wrong,very wrong. Somebody is watching her,somebody has been in her house and worst still in her precious writing room at the top of the house. The house she designed she watched being built from the ground up to tower over where the fishermans old cottage stood. She wanted to live here with Flynn and have lots of children running around

Brilliant. Dark, twisted and wonderful. This is a page turning, gripping read. I spent nearly the whole book trying to work out who was terrorising Elle. This is a very well put together and well thought out story that has a lot of plot packed into it. I would definitely recommend it.

Tense, full of suspense. A very descriptive narrative. Highlights family issues and how the death of a parent can endanger lies and subterfuge between siblings.

After a run of not so great books, I really enjoyed You Let Me In. I hadn't read Lucy Clarke before but I liked her writing style a lot and will be exploring her other titles. Elle as a character was someone I came to really like as the story progressed and could emphasise with.

The beauty of this book is that pretty much everyone could be a suspect so the whole way through you feel unsettled, examining each character in turn. I genuinely had no clue what to expect and Lucy truly delivered not once but twice. I do question if the sub-plot was actually needed but it certainly didn't hinder the story. It's truly a tale that gets under your skin and creates a sense of unsense which you can identify with how creepy a scenario it must be for Elle.

Once I'd finished the book, I finally noticed the small hints Lucy had dropped in such a clever fashion I imagine that many readers will have missed them too,

I enjoyed this book and felt there were some good twists and red herrings, but I found the timelines and the author quotes quite distracting and this lessened my enjoyment of the story as a whole.

"Oh! What A Tangled Web We Weave When First We Practice To Deceive" describes this book perfectly. Great read, read in one day. Excellent writing, you can feel Elle’s fear, is there something happening in her house or is she imagining it all. Brilliant twist I genuinely did not know whodunnit or why

I devoured You Let Me In over a couple of days. From the first page I was drawn in and hooked into the plot line.

The story follows Elle. She’s an author who’s had great success with her first novel but the second one is proving to be a problem to write. She lives in a beautiful house on top of a cliff in Cornwall, her marriage is over and she feels completely alone. After renting her house our for a couple of weeks she returns and nothing seems as it was. She feels that’s someone is watching her. As an author, her imagination is key but surely she’s just letting it run away with her, isn’t she? But then she starts to wonder if someone has discovered her secret!

I loved this book, it had great characters and the plot flowed well. I would give this book 4.5 stars.

Cornwall comes to life in this creepy novel by Lucy Clarke. You can imagine the house on the cliff, the sea, the weather. There were some great twists and the ending came as a complete surprise - exactly what I want from a psychological thriller!

You let me in by Lucy Clarke a four-star read that will compel you. This was my first read by this author and I really hope it’s not my last, the writing style has a great flow and the characters all made me care about them and that’s my gage of good characters. The plot is fast paced and interesting, there is enough going that you will be wanting to know what’s on the next page as you read the current one. The clues you get along the way will give you little pieces of the story and will you get it in the end? The story will also have you not wanting to sit alone in a darkened room.

A clever concept and very different read, a book about an author writing a book. Unfortunately I just couldn't find any likeable character traits in Elle but this is definitely a compelling read

You Let Me In is an accomplished psychological thriller. The writer cleverly spun a tale which kept the reader guessing and speculating. The various characters were all well developed and any one of them could have been the mystery tormentor of Elle, the main character. There was an unexpected twist which explained some of the strangeness/awkwardness between the two sisters. I’d read another book by this author.

I loved this book! It was brilliantly written and I genuinely had no clue who it was that was in Elle's house or what her secret was until it was revealed. There was multiple people who it could have been and there was some brilliant twists within the plot that related to Elle's younger years.

I had to keep on reading as it had me in suspense, and I must admit that I loved the ending. I don't want to give any spoilers away but will say that its definitely worth reading.

I do love a really well written psychological thriller and this fits that request perfectly.

Elle is a successful writer. She has a vivid imagination and is under immense pressure to maintain that level of success.

After returning from a trip, during which she rented out her out her home, Elle returns and something seems off. As more and more things ramp up Elle’s paranoia she is spun into a world of confusion. Is it her extensive imagination playing tricks on her or is she really the mouse to someone else’s cat? What is Elle hiding that she doesn’t want discovered?

You Let Me In ramps up the creepy level and has you on the edge of your seat throughout. I kept my dogs close and was jumping at small noises. You will think you know something or have something sussed out, only to find that you are wrong.

The writing has a nice flow and great pacing that builds and builds, this is one that I will be recommending to all who will listen.

I went into this blind which I think made it so much more enjoyable. I had no expectations or any idea where the story would go.
I spent majority of the book thinking a crazy fan was behind it, which I think was the intention with having chapters in the POV of whoever stayed in Elle's house.
Once the reveal happened I was shocked. I didn't once suspect the character. I couldn't think of any clues I missed either.
The last half of the book had me hooked, by the time I finish I hadn't realised how long I had just sat and read without wanting to stop for a break. I just wanted to find the truth and see any aftermath of the reveal.

When Elle Fielding builds her dream house by the sea with money from her book deal, things around her start coming apart. She must write her next book by the fast approaching deadline day but having rented her home to a stranger whilst out of the country, she stumbles on some sinister things when she returns, slowing down her progress. Who did she let in?
Lucy Clarke's, You Let Me In, has you guessing from the get go. I really do recommend this book.

A great book that had me totally gripped. Right from the start I could feel the tension rising and did not want to put the book down. Had every sympathy with Elle - just wanted her to get her next novel finished. Great characters and very well written. I will look out for other books by Lucy Clarke.

I had goosebumps reading this one. There were sections of the narrative that made me want to go round my house turning on all the lights. Elle was a likeable character and I was rooting for her both in the present day and the flashbacks. I was enjoying it so much I found myself praying that the ending wouldn’t be a let down and as far as I’m concerned it was perfect, particularly the epilogue. I loved it and happily recommend it.
