This was the first book of Anna Smith’s I have read, and it certainly won’t be the last. I originally thought it was going to be a standalone but have since discovered it is book one of a series featuring Kerry Casey. I look forward to book 2

Thanks to Quercus Books for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a nice standalone thriller, and I just loved it. I love reading crime thrillers featuring bad guys, East End thugs and the queen of it all. Really well written, and I just loved it. Honestly - worth your time and effort!

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I enjoyed this book but have read so many similar books by different authors but have to confess this one was not one of the better ones.

I enjoyed Anna’s previous series about Rosie Gilmour so was looking to give this new series a try. It certainly didn’t disappoint. It is set in Glasgow which I loved and it is quite gritty but very good.

This book was amazing! I enjoy Anna Smith's novels and this one didn't disappoint.
From the first page to the last she doesn't let go, and really keeps you turning the pages. The writing is excellent, the characters are extremely well drawn and with lots of depth.
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Can definitely recommend. If you are a Martina Cole or Kimberley Chambers fan then you will enjoy this book.

Thank you!

This is the first book I’ve read of Anna Smiths and I really liked it.
This is a gritty crime thriller set in Glasgow and whilst I can see why people are comparing it to Martina Cole’s books, it’s not quite the same.
In this book we meet Kerry Casey who has returned for her brothers funeral after he was murdered by a rival gang.
At the funeral, Kerry’s Mum is shot and this makes her desperate for revenge.
The men who supported Kerry’s father and brother are on hand to help her and soon a plan is put into place.
There are quite a lot of characters and at times it got a bit confusing, but overall the story came together well.
Thanks to NetGalley and Quercus for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

Wow a new book with new characters wasn’t sure what to expect, but I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down. We meet Kerry Casey a lawyer at the funeral of her brother Mickey. Mickey ran the family business taking it into drugs and prostitution not what their father had wanted for his family. This caused trouble with other gangsters and resulted in Kerry’s Mother being shot and killed. Kerry now has a choice walk away and go back to her life, or stay and get revenge for her family. A fab read that I highly recommend and I hope Anna has more for Kerry in the future.

After reading several books in the Rosie Gilmour series it was interesting to see how Anna Smith brought her new character to life.

Kerry Casey has returned home to Glasgow, her brother Mickey has been murdered and she is home for his funeral, Mickey was a local gangster whose dealings with other lowlifes has led to his death. When a shooting takes place at his funeral and Kerry’s mother is killed she suddenly becomes head of the family and wants revenge for her mother’s death.

An excellent book by Anna Smith, she takes us in a completely different direction from Rosie Gilmour, Kerry Casey doesn’t want the life that has been thrust upon her but she will do what’s needed to avenge her family. A fast paced thriller with twists and turns along the way which leads us into the next chapter of Kerry’s life.

I really couldn't wait to get started with this book. I have read and loved all of Anna Smiths books. Loved everyone of them.
A sperb writing style that really does grab you into those pages, and keeps you wanting more right up to the end.
We are introduced to some great characters in this book. A mix of characters you'll either love or hate.
I have to admit I was a little sceptical when I realised this wasn't going to be a 'Rosie Gilmore book' I love the Gilmore series, and knowing this was something new had me nervous and exited.
Anna's style of writing is first class.

Kerry Casey is now the head of the Casey Empire. From Lawyer to criminal in the blink of an eye.
When everything goes tits up at Mickey Casey's (her brother) wake, Kerry's life is changed forever.
We have a whole mixture of criminal characters come together in this superbly written story.
Anna Smith certainly has this genre nailed. She is one of the best authors about. Nothing I can say about this book is going to do it the justice it so deserves.
This is certainly a must read and has made it to my must read books of 2018.

The really good news is that there is going to be a Blood Feud 2. It's available now for pre order.
