I haven’t read one of Cathy’s books for a while and realised that I have missed her cracking writing.
To escape a problem in London Nina escapes to Brightside Cove which is near her Brother. Nina finds herself getting involved with helping her Brother’s friend to sort his life out, whilst realising what she wants from life too.
Lots of twists and turns and the book does touch upon some difficult subjects with sympathy and understanding.
Wonderful characters, beautiful setting and just a magnificent read as always with Cathy’s books.

Having been lucky enough to read a sampler of the first part of the book, I was eager to delve further into the rest of the story!

I wasn't disappointed! Cathy Bramley has a knack of writing such interesting characters that you cant help but be caught up in their lives.

When you add in the beautiful Devon coast, you have a surefire winner!

Highly recommended.

A Match Made In Devon by Cathy Bramley is a really delightful contemporary romance that will have the reader enchanted from the start.
Once again Cathy Bramley has produced a really fun light hearted read but with some serious under lying themes. There were times when I literally laughed out loud. And much of the time I read with a smile on my face. "I looked like the love child of Donald Trump and a satsuma."
The novel highlights the importance of family and good friends. Both stick together and help to overcome when circumstances threaten to overwhelm.
There is the awful topic of infant mortality. The grief that follows, separates rather than unites as parents try to come to terms with their loss. (This is not a spoiler as it has happened before the book starts.)
There are wonderfully descriptive passages that bring the Devon countryside to life. The bracing sea air contrasts with the stifling atmosphere of London.
Community matters. Heritage matters. Both need to be protected.
People are important. They need to be true to themselves and loved for just who they are.
The Devon countryside heals people. It is balm to the wounded soul. It is freeing as people leave their inhibitions behind - quite literally which had me laughing out loud!
I adore Cathy Bramley's books. They are fun, feel good reads that warm your heart and leave you smiling. Just perfect for any time of year.
More, more please Cathy Bramley.
I received this book for free. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Wow Cathy Bramley has done it again, this is simply superb, I loved every moment of it. Originally published in four parts, I have read the combined version, but can safely say that each of these parts had distinct story elements and by the last one a significant amount of things happening in it.

In terms of sheer light heartedness and fun Part 2: The Hen Party was my favourite section of the book, and the whole hen party really entertained me. In terms of sheer wow and how on earth did that all fit into one section of a book then part four: The Leading Lady was a favourite as I was so impressed by the writings and plots in this section.

As an overall book it works incredibly well and kept me hooked and interested at all times. I was never really sure what Nina would end up deciding about her life and career and I was thoroughly enjoying finding out alongside her.

I fell in love with the location of Brightside Cove in Devon, which sounded like it really is the perfect retreat from the thrust of London living. Getting to know all the various people in the cove was enjoyable and watch out for Eliza and her Mermaid school, Mabel the loveable dog, Jethro the tourist hating shop keeper amongst others.

The reason Nina disappeared to Devon in the first place is due to a hilarious incident that happened to go viral and potentially threaten her career. The whole of the first quarter of the book is dealing with the aftermath of that and it was really enjoyable seeing how it would turn out.

There are some truly memorable scenes including the the body painters, any scene involving the mermaids, and there is one rather emotional skype call that was rather eye opening and informative, and put into place a lot of answers to various questions about Nina and her brother Archie.

A truly fabulous story that was a joy to read, and if you want to know who is the Match Made in Devon then you really need to read it for yourself!

Thank you to Netgalley and Transworld Digital for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

A Match Made in Devon is a really good read, it is the book to curl up on the settee and read for that feel good factor. It makes you feel safe and warm and happy for the characters that you get to know and like.

This is the sort of book you just don't want to end! The characters are sympathetically drawn, the plot is easy to follow, and the things that happen to the characters are universal, and very heart-warming.
The sea, and sand feature heavily, and the "magic of Devon " to heal people is palpable. The difficulties of Nina, Archie, Jude and Molly to articulate their real feelings are in turns, charming, and frustrating. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book.. The charms of the hideaway cottages give you a real buzz, and a thought of finding one for yourself. Another Cathy Bramley triumph.
More please!! Many thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for allowing me to read this novel.Th

I really enjoyed this book, as I have done with all of Cathy's books. I liked following Nina's story and the in's and out's of her acting career. I particularly liked Theo's story and his struggles around losing his daughter. So often those stories are told from the female perspective, it was interesting to see it explored from a Dad's perspective. A great and enjoyable read!

Read this on the train to Devon! A good book for a holiday read.
Nina is an actress but after an unfortunate incident she disappears to Devon to stay with her brother. However, she gets involved with life in the small coastal village and er love life is becoming interesting. Events do not run smoothly though and it soon looks as though she will have to leave to follow her dreams.
Look forward to reading the series.

Loved it. Ideal for holiday reading, or on a cold wet day wrapped up on the sofa. Very hard to put down, the characters are well written, and the story line interesting.

Nina is an actress, she is being written out of her part in a tv show and loses her cool with her agent and blabs about the fact that her character is going to die, not knowing that a journalist is on a call and hears everything. She angers the show stars and crew as she has blabbed a cliff hanging storyline and packs a bag and heads off to see her brother Archie in Devon to lay low for a while. Archie takes her off to meet an old friend of his that he is buying a car from and Nina ends up staying in Devon and helping Theo not only set up his business, but help his marriage get back on track. Along the way she falls in love, meets a whole bunch of new friends, helps them achieve their dreams whilst trying to figure out what hers are.

I had read a previous book of this authors and hated it and the publisher invited me to read this hoping i would like it and i didnt i LOVED it!

Really enjoyable read. Set by the beach so perfect for reading on holidays!
Nina makes a mistake at work, and as an actress this gets her in to the news. Her agent tells her to escape so she runs off to Devon to stay with her brother, only on the way they drop in to see Theo and she ends up staying to help him build up his holiday cottage business and win back his wife.
While she is there she meets Jude, who is wary of falling in love, but you really hope Nina can win him over.
Lots of different characters and story lines but the book is easy to read.

Nina wants to prove to everyone she has star quality but she manages to make some very public mistakes that force her to escape from the backlash. She decides to visit her brother Archie in the West Country and ends up in Brightside Cove where she finds a role helping the people around her. She really feels drawn to the place and people, which really doesn’t fit into her plans to become a famous actress. Cathy has divided this story into a series of episodes threaded through by the characters living in the village. Enjoyable. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Cathy Bramley never lets you down with her books simply brilliant from the first page it's funny and delightful and has many twists that has you hooked from the first page and also full of romance and many laughs to.
Nina has always wanted to be a big star on tv and her job isn't going well and she decides it best to run away and hide and she goes to a friend in Devon to lay low to flee the paparazzi she soon learns there is still very much drama in Devon as in London. She tries to get her friends back together after they lost their baby and not coping she helps him set up the holiday cottage business and things take a turn for the worse when she thinks he is more interested in her than his wife. She does get them back together but a man and his dog turns her and catches her eye and London soon starts to loose its appeal what does she do for the best can she be happy or not and has she met her match in Devon.
So funny in places and makes you believe you want to be their in Devon to enjoy the countryside and join in the fun great characters and story lines well worth reading.

I loved this latest offering from Cathy Bramley with lovely characters. I particularly liked the way that the love interest of the main character (Nina) wasn't apparent until halfway through the book. I loved all the characters who were well drawn, as was the description of the sleepy South Devon coast. A quiet undiscovered place we'd all like to be, with quirky, but genuine, locals one finds in quiet places. The magic of the location works for all the romance elements, of which there are several, but not without elements of humour of life. The main character Nina matures throughout the book, I was a little irritated with her at the start when she was somewhat a bit of a diva, but warmed to her subsequent enthusiasm and energy. This, I can honestly say, is the Cathy Bramley book I've enjoyed the most. A fantastic holiday read of pure escapism.

I love Cathy Bramley books, her writing is so descriptive that I am hooked from the first page and sad when I reach the last page. I loved Nina the actress who has to flee London after a couple of disasters and goes to visit her brother in Devon. Her brother's friend is trying to set up a holiday rental business but has encountered some difficulties. Nina works hard to try and get his business and marriage back on track and there are some laugh out loud moments when we meet some of the guests.

Nina starts to love the coastal life and launches herself into being a part of the community even joining the campaign to save the old lifeboat station. Can she juggle commitments in Devon with her acting career. Its a brilliant book with dogs and kittens, mermaids and TV stars as well as family secrets and difficult relationships.

I loved this book so much and can't wait for the next one Cathy writes. If i could give it more than five stars I would
