By the time I had finished the book did not care that Sasha was missing or why she had gone missing. The whole story revolved around a rape case, three friends and someone was not telling the truth. It got very boring but I finished the, book, it has to be really bad for me to,give up.
It was an overlong and silly story. Sorry did not enjoy.

I was a huge fan of Friend Request so had high hopes for this new book by Laura. I was absolutely hooked on this book. It was gripping from start to finish, left me guessing and I had no idea where the story could go to shock me again! The ending was perfect, and i was in awe. Fab characters, enough backstory without being boring. Just an overall incredible psychological thriller, highly recommend to anyone wanting to be shocked!

I read ‘Friend Request’ by Laura Marshall and thoroughly enjoyed it so was looking forward to reading ‘Three Little Lies’. It was an excellent read and I found the structure and characters well thought through and I was into the story straight away.

The story follows Ellen or the majority of the time as she searches for her ‘best’ friend abd flat mate ‘Sasha’, who disappears one day and nobody apart from Ellen seems bothered, including the police. Ellen’s frustration and anger is clear and she is determined to find her friend even if it means digging up the past, which it does.

The past involves Ellen and Sasha helping to convict Sasha’s ‘brother’ of raping another of their friends. The issue of rape, abuse, teenage friendships and bullying are all addressed with sensitivity and understanding.

Three little lies, but who is lying?

Thank you to NetGalley, Little Brown Book Group UK, Sphere and Laura Marshall for my ARC in return for my hones review.

Excellent and highly recommended.

An interesting book with very convincing characters. The book was set in 2017 but with chapters going back 10 years to the time of the incident. Good twist at the end and plenty of turns along the way.

I've just finished this fabulous book which had me gripped from page 1. A really rollercoaster of a read. Twists and turns all over the place - you just won't know what is going on or who is doing what. Highly recommend. 5* read.
My thanks to the publisher & Netgalley for the advance reader copy.

This was a fairly good read, although the subject matter was difficult at times! I sometimes struggled to remember which character was which, and this definitely wasn’t a patch on Friend Request.

I loved The Friend Request so was quite eager to read this latest offering! A fantastic book with enough twists and turns to leave you guessing right to the end.

I was one of the fans of “Friend Request” from Laura Marshall so I was really intrigued to see how she would follow that up. Turns out it’s with “Three Little Lies” a genuinely page turning psychological thriller about a group of friends and their divisive, close friendship that is doomed by one horrible night and three little lies…but who exactly is lying?

I loved it. We follow Ellen for a lot of this book as she desperately searches for her missing friend Sasha – there are reasons from the past that make her worry for Sasha’s future but as she digs deeper into the disappearance she realises that you can’t ever truly know a person..

This story covers a lot of very socially relevant subjects, most of them emotionally resonant and hugely thought provoking. What would have been a fairly generic (if excellent) read is elevated by the authors willingness to explore all the facets of those subjects and not just follow the path of least resistance to an expected result. The characters are all full of depth and feeling – Ellen’s worry, her horror, her exasperation at others unwillingness to take her seriously all pop off the page and into your head. The other viewpoints add into the mix a vortex of the attitudes and influences that we all are prone to and overall it’s a cleverly plotted and unpredictable read where you honestly can’t be sure how it is going to end up.

To my mind Three Little Lies is the superior novel – Laura Marshall has upped the ante quite considerably, making this an authentic and realistic exploration of the themes at it’s heart, making the reader really consider possibilities and allow for shades of grey (I’m trying hard not to give anything away here!) whilst also writing an entertaining and addictive story.

Loved it. Big fan of this one. Highly Recommended.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.

Ellen and Karina meet the exotic Monkton family and soon befriend Sasha and swoon over their sons Daniel and Nicholas. All is a web of teen angst and self discovery until Karina is raped. Daniel is jailed and Sasha and Ellen go on with their lives until Sasha disappears.

Personally I thought this was better than Friend Request and the formula was similar but this seemed to be a better read. Raced through it and ignored my child and husband which is always a good sign

Laura Marshall has a talent for coming up with really hooky ideas. They really make you put everything else aside and concentrate on reading her book. In her latest novel, Three Little Lies, she pulled me in with the opening chapter and the final sentence really made me want to read on. Her second novel is just as good as Friend Request; if you enjoyed her debut you really need to read Three Little Lies.

Laura introduces us to her main protagonist, Ellen, who, ten years ago, helped to convict the brother of her best friend, Sasha, after he was accused of raping her friend, Karina at a New Year’s Eve party. Both Sasha and Ellen were the main witnesses during the trial and their account helped to put Daniel, Sasha’s brother, behind bars. Now, ten years later, Daniel is finally free after serving his time. And when Sasha goes missing, dropping all contact with Ellen, she becomes really concerned that Daniel maybe behind her disappearance. Is he seeking revenge on them for their part in putting him behind bars? And if he is, does that put them all in danger?

Three Little Lies is told over dual time periods. We flick back to the years of 2006/2007 when Ellen and Sasha first become friends and when Daniel is on trial for rape. We can see the pull that Daniel and Sasha’s family have on Ellen and especially on her friend Karina; I can’t imagine many people who wouldn’t be attracted to their wealth and glamour, so this aspect of the book begged the question, how did it all go so horribly wrong for them?

I felt I really connected with Ellen as she searched for her friend. I could clearly see the pain it was causing her and the exasperation that she felt when the police appeared to be doing very little to help her, when Sasha could be in danger. I really wanted her to get to the bottom of what was going on. I thought I knew where the ending was going but Laura managed to surprise me.

Three Little Lies is a pacy read which keeps you turning the pages. Thank you to the publisher and to Netgalley for the advance review copy.

I enjoyed reading this book and particularly liked the fact that I didn’t see the ending happening. The characters were well defined and rounded and I felt I knew them - particularly the main female character. Well deserved 4 stars

An interesting read. The book dots around between 2005-7 and 2017. I spent my time not being sure as to who was innocent and who guilty. Had the girls colluded on lies? Was Daniel lying? It kept me guessing all the way through and I'll admit to being rather shocked by the ending. Who'd have thought that he... or she...? But it made complete sense

As most readers know, when you start reading the second book by a author who's debut book totally blew you away, there is always that fear at the back of your mind that their second book won't be as good.Well I thought Three Little Lies was just as jaw droppingly brilliant and gripping as Friend Request.

JULY 2005 : If Ellen and her best friend Karina had known the extent of the trauma and devastation the new family moving into the house opposite Karina`s would bring into their young lives, they would have stayed well away. But they soon finds themselves drawn into the glamorous, excessive lifestyle of the seemingly perfect Monkton`s and their beautiful god daughter Sasha.

But then the lives of Ellen,Karina,Sasha and the people around them are torn apart by a shocking event that occurs at a New Years Eve party being held at the Monkton`s house

Sept 2017 : Ellen and Sasha have been sharing a flat together in London, still struggling to move on from events from the past. Then suddenly one day Sasha mysteriously disappears.Frantic with worry Ellen begins a desperate search for her best friend, but she soon begins to discover that maybe she didn't know Sasha as well as she thought she did.Not everything was as it appeared all those years ago.The more secrets and lies Ellen uncovers, the more at risk her life becomes.

Because someone is watching....
Someone who will go to any lengths to keep the secrets from the past hidden forever.

The chapters of this enthralling tale of secrets, lies, friendships, manipulation, betrayal, obsession and abuse flip back and forth between the past and the present and are narrated by Ellen,Karina and Olivia Monkton.I can't say I liked Ellen very much,I suppose in the chapters set in the past her behaviour was excusable because she was young and naive. But in the present day chapters her constant refusal to accept that maybe Sasha wasn't the perfect person that Ellen thought she was became irritating at times.I felt so much sympathy for poor Karina and struggled to understand why she and Ellen had been friends especially considering how swiftly Ellen dumped her after Ellen became friends with Sasha. My favourite parts of this gripping book were the mystery and intrigue packed present day chapters which also had a prevailing sense of menace.Where was Sasha? Had she just ran away as everyone including the police insisted or had someone kidnapped her? If someone had hurt her, would they come after Ellen next?

Appearances can be deceptive, people are not always who they appear to be as Ellen soon discovers in this twisty, unputdownable thriller that had me hooked in from the first page, totally entranced by the tightly plotted, gripping story that was unfolding as I frantically turned the pages. The characters were realistic and vivid, the story was packed full of red herrings and misdirections and had a number of totally unexpected twists.Well worth far more than five stars, this book is definitely going to be on my list of my favourite reads of this year.

Great book with a number of twists and turns. Enjoyed the different character points of view and the time shifting

A book told by two main characters past and present, Ellen the main character is looking for her best friend, during the narrative from the past it is revealed how it's all tied in but where is she? Who is involved and did the right person go to prison for a crime 3 people said they witnessed. A gripping page turner keeping the reader guessing right until the end

A good and thrilling read.

The story flips between 2006 and 2017. In 2006 certain things are set in motion that come to a conclusion in 2017. I found Ellen to be a very naive narrator, she kept refusing to see that Sasha may not be as nice of a person as she always thought she was.
I found this quite annoying since Ellen's life pretty much revolves around Sasha.

The story itself was good and entertaining to read, though I did find it a bit predictable.

If you are looking for a book that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat in eager anticipation as to what will happen next then read this book.

If you are looking for a story that will have you guessing throughout as to who is guilty and who is innocent, and not knowing who to trust, then look no further, read this book.

This really was an excellent gripping read from start to finish. It was a bit like a rollercoaster in the way that the story flicks from present to past and back again and goes from one characters telling of the story to another character then telling their side if it, all of which makes for highly addictive reading. Literally couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

There was times throughout the story where I really didn't know who to trust or who to believe.  Absolutely outstanding storyplot and as for the ending, didn't see it coming at all. What a shocker.

So after reviewing and really enjoying friend request (and receiving a signed copy, thank you!) I was invited to read Laura Marshall’s new book Three Little Lies. I wasn’t sure if it could compare to friend request but I am happy to say I was wrong. Totally different but equally awesome. I read it in two days as it was so readable and I wanted to know what happened. Everything I guessed was wrong. It’s hard to say too much about the story without giving anything away but I couldn’t have predicted any of it. Really good read and I look forward to the next book. Thank you so much to the publisher for letting me read it early.

Ellen’s flatmate Sasha has gone missing. Ten years ago, Ellen’s school friend Karina accused a boy of rape and he was subsequently imprisoned. Ellen fears he’s come to avenge himself on Sasha who gave evidence against him – as did she.

Initially I found I mixed Ellen and Karina up as their ‘voices’ didn’t seem individual. As the story progressed, however, the interaction between the characters, who was secretly having a relationships with whom, and the lies and secrets they told, became utterly fascinating. The characters were misleading one another and the reader and I didn’t guess the outcome at all. I found it a compulsive read and enjoyed it very much.
