Another great read from Karen Rose featuring the Baltimore series characters. The storyline focuses on one of my favourite characters of the series, renowned defence lawyer and nightclub part-owner Thomas Thorne and his nightclub co-owner and long time friend Gwyn Weaver. The action begins almost immediately with Thorne discovered by Gwyn - unconscious in bed alongside a very dead woman! It soon becomes clear that someone is attempting to set Thorne up and as the story continues it seems that someone is systematically attempting to destroy his life and their preferred method is by hurting those closest to him. Unusually we are introduced to the bad guy, Cesar Tavilla, from the very outset and he is very bad indeed! A truly evil and remorseless killer and a man intent on revenge against Thorne - but why?
I honestly feel that this is by far the best book in this series and as always I enjoyed catching up with the recurring cast of characters including JD, Lucy, Taylor, Stevie and Clay.
An absolutely thrilling read and I have no hesitation in recommending this brilliant read! 5 stars!
Many thanks to Netgalley and Headline for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is already the 6th book in the Baltimore series, and bloody hell, it just gets better!
I've read all Karen's book before, and was not disappointed. The book was well-written, quick paced, and really a thrilling ride!
Recommended.

I’ve read & thoroughly enjoyed quite a few books by Karen Rose so I was excited to hear about this new release.
Sadly it didn’t capture my attention & I was unable to complete it. I felt there were too many characters and it took quite some time to get into the storyline.
I still look forward to reading Karen’s next novel.

Oh what a tangled web this book is. The coming together of Thorpe and Gwen after wanting each other for so long, was excellent. The loyalty of all that know Thorpe plays a large part in this storey. He wouldn't have survived with their help. There are a great many characters in this storey, so many that it is easy to forget who is on who's side...I was a little dissappointed because of this, just felt there were to many..

One of my all-time favorite authors.

Realistic characters, action-packed and keeps you wanting more

Rose once again pulled me in and got me hooked, expertly providing a cast of characters you are rooting for. This book 6 in the Baltimore series but each book focuses on a different character so you don't need to read them from the beginning. If you are returning for the latest installment you will be in for a treat getting to see what the other characters are up to now. As well as reading chapters through the eyes of Thorne and his friends as all they try to prove his innocence you also get to read through the eyes of the gang lord trying to destroy him. This pure sensational escapism.

Thanks to Netgalley and Headline in exchange for an open and honest review.

Once again returning to the world of Romantic Suspense written by Karen Rose, with a new story about Thorne. And how I have waited to find out what really happened the night, when 17 year old Thomas White is arrested for murdering his bullying class mate Richard Linden. Sure, he was being cleared and sent home, but there always was a little doubt Thorne seems to see in others eyes. And he always felt the need to prove himself. When he is targeted and once again gets under suspicion of being a murderer, he has to relay on his friends and family to help him solve the gruesome killings and find out what happened 19 years ago, once and for all.
The big plus was, of course seeing Thorne getting closer to the woman he loved for such a long time and how he learned that there are a lot of people around him, loving him, respecting him for who he is.
Amazingly well written and such a joy to read, I recommend this book with all my heart.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thanks to NetGalley and Headline!

As part of the Blog tour for Death is Not Enough I was sent a copy of the book to review. I have read all of Karen Rose previous books and I was looking forward to reading Thorne and Gwyn story.

Four years after a serial killer tried to kill her Gywn is finally putting her life back together. When she finds her good friend and defence lawyer Thomas Thorne unconscious in his bed next to a dead women.  Someone wants revenge on Thorne, he doesn't want him dead he just wants his world destroyed. Gywn and their friends know that Thorne would never kill anyone, so they band together to prove his innocent and to stop anyone else from dying. As they look at the evidence it all points to a murder in Thorne past.

As Gywn and Thorne work together they also must decide if they should just stay friends or become more than just friends.

I would love for these books too be made in to film or T.V show, the action, romance, mystery just jumps off the pages and becomes very visual to me.

Thorne has been a character I have been interested in since You Belong to Me, I am not always a fan of defence lawyer, he is the exception to the rule. If I am every in trouble I would want him as my Lawyer.

This case was interesting as it was more about pulling Thorne world apart, and they way it was done was very clever. I loved how all of Thorne friends stuck with him, even when Tavilla thought they would have left him. He really underestimated the power of friendship that turn to family.

One of the things I like about Karen Rose books is that we get to see how everyone is getting on after their own story. In this book we got to see the friendship between Clay and Frederick grow after the truth came out about Taylor  in Monster in the Closet.

Karen Rose book to me are always great for Romance and crime mystery but always a great reminder that family isn't just who your blood.

I have yet to read a book by Karen Rose I did not like, and I doubt I every will.

I give this book 5 out of 5.

Thanks to Headline and Netgalley for sending my the book for an honest and fair review.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.
I am avid reader of Karen Rose and always love her books.
In this story we are reunited with well loved characters, when Thomas Thorne is set up for a murder which he didn't commit. As his friends work together to clear his name no-one among them is safe.
Running alongside the mystery/crime element of the novel is the story of the fledgling romance of Thomas and Gwyn. The only reason that I didn't award five stars to this great book is that I thought the relationship was focused on too heavily at the expense of filling out the thriller element of the novel.

I'm feeling a little disappointed at how much hard work I found this book. It seemed to take forever to get to the end and was very slow going, the story just had no pace. A lot was unrealistic, generally the motive for the "bad guy" and the willingness to kill each other and 'innocents' was a step too far for me. The character on the good side were stereotypical and whilst I could relate to them and was rooting for them, I couldn't get into the romance for the main two.
The ending felt a little too wrapped up in a nice little bow and maybe the storyline could've done with a plot twist or two.

I have been a fan of Karen Rose for a fair few years. I have to get and read each new book that she brings out. I have loved each book that she has written and her new book, ‘Death Is Not Enough’ is no exception but more about that in a bit.
I have to say that I really felt for the character of Thomas Thorne. We meet him in the prologue and it’s fair to say that he is going through hell because he tried to do the right thing. He tried to stand up for a fellow student when she was being attacked and yet he is the one on suspension. Thomas is further put through the mill when he discovers an injured person and it appears that somebody has framed him because he is then arrested. Just when Thomas has lost all hope, he is touched to find out that somebody cares about him enough to stick up for him and to believe in him. Then in the first chapter we find Thomas as an adult and 19 years after the events in the prologue. Thomas is still sticking up for those who are unable to stick up for themselves but it appears that he has still got his enemies because somebody is trying to frame him again. It soon becomes clear that his enemies won’t rest until they have completely destroyed him. Is Thomas innocent? Will his friend and potential lover Gwyn Weaver manage to help him clear his name? Will those who want to destroy Thomas be stopped and brought to justice? Well for the answers to those questions and more you are just going to have to read the book for yourselves to find out as I am not going to tell you.
Blimey oh riley, what a rollercoaster of a read this proved to be. The prologue of the book hit the ground with a bang and the pace was maintained throughout the rest of the book. I was hooked from the moment I picked the book up and I binge read this book. ‘Death Is Not Enough’ is one of those books that I just couldn’t put down and it proved to be a real page turner. The book wasn’t glued to my hand but it might as well have been because it came everywhere with me. I just needed to read on to see if Thomas survived and if he managed to clear his name. I managed to totally immerse myself in this book. At times the story is quite intense and I felt my heart rate quicken and my blood pressure rise because I genuinely feared what was going to happen next and what was in store for Thomas. When you pick up a book by Karen Rose you are guaranteed drama, suspense, violence and romance.
In conclusion I have to say that I really enjoyed reading ‘Death Is Not Enough’ and I wholeheartedly recommend it to other readers. I can’t wait to read what comes next from this fabulous writer. Here’s hoping that we don’t have too long a wait in store. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 4* out of 5*.

Great story and great characters. I like the way everything came together at the end. My only gripe is that it was a bit too long in places.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

Another superb read from Karen Rose!

Action packed and full of suspense, the storyline is fast paced and well written.

Karen’s writing is always very character driven and “Death is not Enough” is no different.

This time we follow the story of Thomas Thorne, a defence attorney found unconscious in his bed with a dead woman. Thorne was drugged and the scene staged but by who?

As always there is some romance woven into the story.
Gwyn and Thorne have been friends a long time. Best friends. But Thorne wants more. After the trauma experienced at the hands of a killer, Gwyn shut herself down. Now Thorne’s in trouble and Gwyn wants to help. Healing from the past trauma she realises Thorne is exactly what she needs.

What I love most about Karen’s books is that they are all linked to each other through the characters which means even though each book features a new lead character we get to see some of our favourite characters from previous books.
“Death is not Enough” features characters such as Lucy and JD, Clay and Stevie as well as Ford and Taylor which is like visiting with old friends.

I cannot recommend Karen’s books highly enough!

Karen Rose does it again. A book you will want to read in one sitting. All the old faces from previous books, with some new ones in there to. Fantastic!

I have always enjoyed Karen Rose's books, but until this one, it had been a little while since I had picked one up to read. Picking her work back up again felt a little like coming home, although perhaps a home that you wouldn't really want to live in, given the torture loving gang lord who was stalking it. One of the things I love about Karen Rose is that although her books all work well as standalones, they are equally enjoyable if you are following the series, as familiar characters pop up throughout the books, just with the main focus moving around them. Even after my break from reading her books, I was pleased to see some of my past favourites make an appearance. My only issue with this book is that it had so many characters that at times I struggled to keep track of who was who. Other than that, it was classic fast-paced Rose, and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Another great read from Karen Rose. If you haven't read the previous books in this Baltimore Series then I would recommend you do that before you read this one as it helps to know the back story to the main characters in this book. I won't spoil the plot or story, however I could not put the book down and wanted to keep reading right through the night to finish it, but my tired eyes wouldn't let me. It amazes me that Karen's writing remains fresh and she can manage to pull the reader into the story and the lives of her characters both old and new. I look forward impatiently to her next book.

Thank you to Netgalley, Karen Rose and Headline publishing for my ARC of Death is Not Enough.

Guys, I am so sorry it's taken me so long to review this! I've been so busy and haven't been able to read as often as I usually do. Also I know Karen Rose's books are impossible to put down once you pick them up so I needed the right time to settle in for the long haul!

Anyway, to the book! I was super excited for Death is Not Enough because I absolutely love the Baltimore series (I love all Karen's series' in all honesty) so it was first and foremost great to catch up with Lucy, JD, Frederick, Taylor, Ford, Joseph & Daphne and the rest of the gang.
This story focused on Thorne & Gwyn. Still recovering from the trauma induced on Lucy and herself, Gwyn is finally starting to heal and get back out on the dating scene, but Thorne has been in love with her these past years and he's not prepared to see some other man snatch her up.
But then something happens which blows their whole worlds apart. When Thorne is discovered drugged and unconscious in bed with a dead woman, Gwyn and the rest of their friends help him unravel who is holding such a terrible vendetta against him, enough to frame him for murder.

As always, Death is Not Enough was wholly gripping from start to finish, I always love the way Karen blends crime/thriller with romance and steamy scenes! It's a skill and one she does very, very well. With the introduction of some new characters in this one I can't wait for the next one to come out!

A guilty pleasure but a pleasure none the less, my only grumble is some of the "romantic" scenes are a touch too explicit.
A spider web of interlinked characters and relationships provides a really enjoyable mix and the crime side of things is always really well done.

I am a fan of Karen Rose and have read all her previous novels. This is just as good. This is the sixth in the series so you know all of the characters. You do not need to have read the previous novels to enjoy this.
Thomas Thorne, defence attorney is found in bed with a dead woman. They are discovered by Gwyn Weaver. Gwyn has survived an attempt on her life befor3 so knows how dark the world can be. Gwyn and others work with Thomas to support him and help find who did this and why.
I was gripped from the start and enjoyed every page. Can’t wait for her next novel!
Thanks to Net Galley and Headline for an ARC.
