Wow....this book was incredibly beautiful and got me in the feels, every element of it was just poor joy and that ending had me sobbing because it was just so beautiful and perfect. Will definitely be reading from this author again.

Loved this book, it was a great read. I won't write about the plot as description of book sums it up, if I add more it would take away more of the imagination and charm this book offers.,
A lovely book to take you away from it all. All the elements are there humour, love, sadness plenty of nostalgia and with a little bit more too! I can really imagine St Felix through this book, which apparantly is St Ives in reality, if that is the case. I hope to visit there as I feel I know the people and the place already now . I did see the twist coming but still enjoyed it, as so beautifully written. I was very sad when I read the last page and that was it for this book, left me wanting more.
It has been one of the good books read whilst in "lockdown" Reading was definitely my escape and this fitted the bill well. . Recommended for a lovely light read. It is the first book I have read by this author I am now looking at reading more.

When Ana inherits a VW camper van from a friend, she heads to the seaside town of St Felix in Cornwall unsure of what she is going to do with it once she gets back to London.

However, when she arrives at the garage where the van is being stored, she is taken aback at how much work needs to be done to it to even make it road worthy, meaning she will have to stay longer than planned. This is where she meets the handsome Malachi, who promises that he can restore the van to its former glory.

Ana isn’t sure but Malachi seems to be a little flirty.

She also soon meets Noah on her arrival in town along with his shop assistant Jess. When she finds some old postcards hidden in the van, she embarks in a mission to return them to the original owner.

She gradually wonders whether St Felix is going to be better for her than she thought.

I love it when Ali McNamara releases a new novel as I know it is going to give me a chance to really disappear into a novel for a while. I have been a fan of hers since her first book, From Notting Hill with Love Actually. There is always a little bit of magic in her books (I get the same intriguing lovely feeling when I read Cecelia Ahern’s books.)

I really liked Ana. She was a very well-developed character. At the beginning of the book, she is a little lost following the death of her friend. I felt that she is simply existing. You know from the moment she arrives in St Felix that things are not going to be the same for her.

Ali has a few plot twists up her sleeve that kept the story moving nicely and surprising me along the way. I wanted to know about the owner of the postcards.
All of the supporting characters are delightful and I especially liked Noah. Like Ana, he was very well rounded and had a few layers to him including a mysterious past. I think if I had to pick, I would be team Noah.

The imagery and descriptions surrounding St Felix reminded me of home and I really wanted to just step into the front cover of this novel. Also, I now want a red and white camper van.

Reading Ali’s novels are the perfect escape. This one was full of warmth, humour and an inspirational message that life will give you the opportunity for adventure. You just have to be willing to jump in with both feet.

Wasn’t sure about this book at the start - partly has a “fairy story” vibe to it which I’m uncertain about, but I did like the overall story.

Review: Ali McNamara has spread her magic again. I adored this book.

Set in a stunning Cornish town called St Felix our journey with Ana begins. Ana is in need of a fresh start not that she is ready to accept that yet for herself. After losing her best friend and unknown to Ana, magic is set to change her life forever.

Every book I read of Ali's is pure escapism. Some how her plots are full of pure magic that is captivating and really draws a reader into the depth of her books. Her stories make you believe in magic and that anything can happen if you only believe.

Ali's books are ones that you can read and read and never get bored.

Highly recommend this read.

This book made me realize what had been missing from my life – magic!! And there were just heaps of it, making me believe in the beauty of rainbow all over again.

Ana inherits her best friend Daisy’s camper van and decides to drive it back home from St. Felix to London. But coming to St. Felix was like coming to a magical place where the soul heals. And she meets the handsome Irish hunk of a mechanic Malachi, and a quiet antique dealer Noah, and quite a few of the town’s lovely residents.

This was my first book my author Ali McNamara, and what a soothing book it was. It made me believe in signs from the heavens, made me believe in the everlasting friendships, made me believe in magic. It was totally a feel good book, no grey characters.

I liked Ana in some ways. She did love her friend Daisy. And I liked how Malachi and St. Felix charmed her into staying. Her interactions with the people of the town often made me smile. The book revolved around finding old postcards in the camper van about an old love. I liked how Ana and Noah joined forces to solve the mystery and later joined forces in love.

But the book took me 4 days to read – why you ask? Oh my niggles; there can be too much of a good thing, too many of these heavenly signs. I would have liked to know more about Ana and Daisy’s friendship. Something more to add to the flavor, I just wanted the story to be a bit more layered

And I loved Malachi, he was an absolute dreamboat, a tattooed mechanic, with a heart of gold, a charm that never ended, and a hint of those angelic wings. Malachi made the book an exciting read!!

This is the first book I have read by Ali McNamara and I have to say it was such a lovely summer read I'd definitely read her other books. The story didn't unfold how I expected it to and I have to admit I'm still a little shocked now. I adored the characters so much Malachi is definitely my favourite, I loved his cheeky Irish charm. I'm not going into detail about the story as I don't like spoiling it for others. I loved the setting of St Felix so much so I really want to visit St Ives now I know where it is based on. It has also added to my camper van obsession haha. Such a lovely endearing book with a beautiful story set in a stunning location with characters you just can't help but adore.

I've read 2 of Ali's past books and really enjoyed them, but unfortunately just couldn't get on with this one. I even put it aside for a good while (hence the late review) thinking it was just the timing. I loved the setting, as always so beautifully described but the story itself was just a little too whimsical and magical for my tastes - totally personal and nothing to do with the authors writing. I'd still pick up more from this author though :)

Another great book from Ali Mcnamara. I love them and this one did not disappoint at all!!! Ali Mcnamara has set this book in the Cornish Coastal town of Saint Felix. It is the story of Ana and features a camper van that her best friend left her when she died. A mechanic and an antique shop owner feature in Anas life as she begins to discover the past life of the camper through postcards she discovers hidden in the van. With the help of a lovely mechanis and a gentleman antique shop owner the camper van is brought back to life. This is a lovely story with an ending that I did not expect but I will let you find that out for yourself!!!

My reading has taken a huge hit lately and I was struggling to get into any sort of Crime or Thriller book so eased myself back in with a lighthearted read by Mandy Baggot. Following on from that I struggled until I discovered I had missed this little gem, which was was Ali McNamara's release last month. The cover alone was enough to draw me in to start reading and I am so glad I chose this as it was absolutely perfect!

The story starts with a sad premise as we see Ana inherit something from her dearly beloved best friend, namely a camper van. Ana has absolutely no interest in a camper van and cannot imagine why on earth her friend thought to leave it to her, however Ana is determined to follow her friend's wishes so she makes the journey down to St Felix in Cornwall where the van is being kept.

Ana has no idea what state the van is in until she claps eyes on it and all at once she feels totally and utterly lost and confused. Thankfully the garage where it is being stored is being looked after by a guy named Malachi. Malachi manages to persuade Ana to get the van restored and as such it means she will need to stay on in St Felix while the work is taking place. At this point I have to admit I figured the storyline would be pretty simple and go where I predicted it would go, however it soon took another turn with added another dimension to the story. Whilst the van is being worked on Ana and Malachi discover some postcards, LOTS of postcard and these date back to the 1950s right through until the early 2000's.

Of course Ana decides that she needs to discover more about the mystery postcard writer to enable her to return them to their rightful owner. Along the way she meets local people all of whom add to the general charm of this story including Noah and Jess from the antiques shop. I loved how the story played out although my only one maybe criticism was the ending and where they took the Malachi line of the story I wasn't sure quite worked for me, but that aside I absolutely loved this book. This is certainly one to pack for your Summer holidays!

I am back in Cornwall again with another author who has visited before, it is three years since I was in St Felix with The Little Flower Shop by the Sea which got me back reading and loving this author's work.

This time though St Felix is welcoming Ana as she comes to claim the camper van she has been left in her will by her closest friend Daisy when she passes away.

Ana is struggling to come to terms with her friends bequest as camping and certainly being away from a city is everything that Ana is not! But it seems there are other forces at work and it is not just the sea air and the fish and chips that is going to keep Ana in St Felix.

In the process of getting Daisy renovated by the intriguing Irish man Malachi they discover a number of old postcards written by someone called Lou to a Frankie and seemingly never sent. What story are they telling of Daisy and what really happened to them. Helped by local antique shop owner Noah, Ana tries to piece together the past as she seemingly settles into the present in St Felix and starts to feel very much at home there and with Noah.

A search goes on for the mysterious Lou and Frankie, Ana's relationship with Noah and changes and they are thrown together when they take a trip to Brighton which is in the past for both of them. Will the past be the answer to the future?

However, all Ana can see is signs and they all seem to have taken on an eighties theme - that was her favourite era of music, even though she was born towards the end of the decade and it is what drew Daisy and her together as friends. Surely these signs are pointing Ana on to her new life.

The mysterious and at some points magical moments of this novel had me hooked, even if I did work out who Malachi was, it did not spoil my enjoyment of the story, the escapism to a beautiful place in the country and perhaps the possibility that I might not be so averse to a camper van!

A lovely uplifting book to read to soothe the soul. I hope we get to return to St Felix, because there has to be more to learn about that lovely place and all its residents. But them I am a sucker for a good saga.

I really enjoyed this book. I will be talking about it for some time to come. I loved everything about it. Cornwall is a magical setting and the descriptions of the scenery meant I could imagine the surroundings. I really liked the characters and how Cornwall helped them with their lives. I am not going to give any spoilers away. My favourite character was definitely Malachi. I look forward to reading more books by Ali McNamara.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I just loved Daisy’s Vintage Cornish Camper Van and sat and read until I was finished meaning a very late night, I just could not put it down.
Following the death of her friend Anna goes to St Felix to do up the camper van as requested but are things all that they seem to be....
Another great book by Ali McNamara that certainly did not disappoint.

Ana’s best friend Daisy died of cancer and in her will she left her a camper van and some money to restore it. To collect it Ana must leave London and travel to St Felix in Cornwall. Hoping it’s going to be only a quick trip, Ana sets off on her journey. However, upon arriving at the garage, she finds that fate had other ideas. Firstly, the owner of the garage is absent and has left a young man in charge. secondly, the van turns out to be very, very out of order and is in a need of a huge restoration. No quick trip for Ana, then, she’s for a longer stay in gorgeous St Felix.
While restoring the van, Malachi discovers a collection of postcards written by Lou to Frankie. They’re dating back to 1945, until the early 2000’s. What’s very suspicious, they’ve never been sent. After some more cards reveals themselves, Ana decides to find the owner and, hopefully, the recipient of the cards. With the help of Malachi and the local antique dealer Noah Ana starts an emotional, sentimental and magic journey.

I absolutely loved the romance aspect in this story, with two potential and promising suitors. They were both so lovely, actually, that I wasn’t sure who would be better for our Ana – who, actually, hasn’t been looking for love, to be honest. But it’s usually like this, when you’re not looking for something than you can be sure that you’re going to find it. There is the cheeky, spontaneous, charming and funny Malachi and his opposite, Noah, the local antique dealer, calm and quiet. It looks like they both really like Ana… The will they/won’t they was there, however there were a few moments that it felt too over – done and also too clichéd and predictable but on the whole it was well done – and it was a slow burner, there was no rush and so it didn’t felt too forced, even if Ana wasn’t looking for love.

The thing with the cards… mmmm… I am not so sure if it worked for me completely or not. It was a brilliant idea but for me it could be differently, better developed. We need a very long introduction before we get to the cards themselves but we get a brilliant story in return, so no bother here. It was also nice to see how Ana is trying to track down the recipient and sender of the cards but still, there was something missing for me, the finishing touch was not there.

I’ve missed on Ali McNamara’s last book but in some of her previous reads there was always something magical, something that could either work or not, and in this book it was the same. And yes, it could have make the whole read unbelievable but this author really knows how to add this pinch of magic to make the story work, and so I really enjoyed “Daisy’s Vintage Cornish Camper Van”. Maybe it felt a little too flat at the end, yes, and towards the end it also felt a little too rushed, and while there were some hints in the plot through the whole novel I think that this magic element was left too unattended and was revealed a little bit too late to truly work its magic (pun intended). But on the whole, it was incredibly warm, funny and at the same time poignant story that had me glued to the pages. This, what on the surface might have seen as a straightforward chick lit novel has in fact many layers and hidden depth.
So altogether, it was really one of the most adorable, loveliest stories ever. It was uplifting and the descriptions were gorgeous. Colourfully, richly written and with great characters – yes, sometimes some of them were behaving too childish for my liking, but oh well, we all have our moments, right – and you just want to know what’s going to happen. The setting is gorgeous as well, I think I can’t have enough of the beautiful Cornwall. The author also touches upon much deeper and heavier issues, such as illness, death and grieving process and she blends them in a perfect way. Highly recommended!

I loved reading this book and was really sorry when I finished it. A perfect story with a mixture of mystery, romance, fantastic characters and a wonderful setting in the glorious Cornish countryside.

A cosy heartwarming tale about the restoration of a fabulous VW camper van and a tale of new beginnings. Well rounded, fun characters and a perfect setting, charming throughout with a satisfying ending.

Highly recommended - the perfect summer read.

I’ve always loved vintage VW camper vans so this book appealed to me instantly. I don’t want to give away any spoilers but the storyline is unusual and not everyone is quite what they seem. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from Ali McNamara.

The book has a very sad beginning. Ana’s best friend Daisy dies and leaves her with big wish. It takes Ana to St Felix, a lovely little town by the sea in Cornwall.
Ana should get Daisy’s Cornish camper wan and that leads her onto adventure, a big one.

She finds letters of lovers Lou and Frankie, deals with the loss of her friend and gets to know some new people. Ana is determined to return the letters to the rightful owners and does a lot to find them. She gets help from Noah, who owns a shop in St Felix. Malachi does up her car and also spends a lot of time with Ana.

The plot of this book is great and it flows beautifully. The characters well lined out as well and they are all so different from each other.

St Felix is a lovely little town and has so much charm. Ali McNamara found a wonderful way to include it in the story and her descriptions are on point.

I went through all the emotions reading this book; I laughed, I cried, I felt happy, sad etc. Ali McNamara’s writing is full of passion and heart. I felt so close to the characters and I was really routing for Ana. The book includes mystery, romance, friendship, love, beautiful settings and amazing moments.

A definite must read!!!!

Get ready to suspend your belief for around about 368 pages because this book has a whole lot of magic thrown in. This book is set in fictional St Felix which is based on real St Ives and so the setting of this novel is absolutely gorgeous and there is a significant amount of travel around Cornwall in this book as well so you are in for a treat beach wise. I read this right after reading another book set in St Ives so I was a little Cornwall saturated but if you're looking for beaches to read about whilst dreaming of a coastal holiday of you're own then there are plenty in here for you!

I really enjoyed reading about Ana, there is definitely more to her than meets the eye. Even us readers don't find out about the hidden depths to her personality until the very end of this novel and so the we get to find out about her as the other characters in the book do. She alludes to certain traits and characteristics but I enjoyed watching her character reveal and change as the novel went on. There are some very cute dogs in this novel, Ralph and Clarice and I enjoyed what they contributed to the story, I would love to hear more about Ralph in the future that's for sure.

There is definitely some romance in the novel with a couple of potential suitors, Noah and Malachi. The romance is very much of the slow burn variety, my favourite kind and I liked being kept on the edge of my seat in a 'will they/won't they?' situation. There are definitely some cliches here, the kind you find in a lot of romance story lines and whilst a few are fine, they did begin to grate after a little while, but I really really enjoyed the ending of this novel and how everything resolved.

Daisy is also a big character in this novel, both the van and its female namesake and so she definitely needs to be given character credit as well. She leads to Ana taking all sorts of risks and going in very different directions to those she intended to and I loved that about her. We also have to try and find out who her previous owners were and so this book does turn into a sort of mystery at points. This leads to another group of characters coming into the tale and they were definitely a more diverse group of characters and fun to read about.

As I mentioned, you have to suspend disbelief when you pick this novel up but if you're looking for a fun seaside romance with a little bit of mystery and a little bit of mid-life crisis thrown in then this will be the book for you.

As a long term fan of Ali McNamara I was delighted to see a return to St. Felix in this book, and to be able to catch up with old favourite characters, while thoroughly enjoying a brand new standalone story.

In recent years there was always been something in this authors books that will make you scratch your head in wonder, or make you highly skeptical, and this is no exception, and I was almost on the look out for it!

In fact what on the surface is a rather simple story, has quite a few layers and subplots to it.

I just loved the story of the Campervan and its role in a new romance and a mystery.

I couldn't have predicted some of the outcomes if I had tried and the journey is one that hooked me in, and had me enthralled.

This is another gem of a book by a really talented must read, and favourite author of mine.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sphere for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
